The Zaptec Sense P1 load balancing unit, which connects directly to a P1 meter port without any extra converters, is available july 2024. The Zaptec article number is 900-00114 and it costs about €99.
Thank you so much for this clear and honest review 🙏 We really appreciate the suggestions and we hear you about dynamic load balancing/cable lock/unlock without the app/analytics tracking. We're on it...
Thanks for the review. Was looking into the Zaptec go and couldn’t figure out why it would use a third party load balancer device. Strange they sell a product in NL without their own load balancer being compatible in the P1 meters here - most people need this in their household to have a smooth experience. I’ve also been reading in forums about the Tiber pulse probs…So then that’s a deal breaker for me until zaptec sense becomes compatible.
And still.. now the zaptec Go 2 is coming... It seems like that one has normal solar and load balancing support. But still you need internet for it to work. The Easee seems better in this.
Try using the Enegic as your load balancing device. It works perfectly. We use it on every installation in the UK now. It can read the power supply via CTs if you can't connect to the meter with RJ12 connector (virtually no UK smart meters allow a connection yet - don't ask me why..)
Thanks for the long term review. The Zaptec GO is probably what I will go for. One question: is it possible to dim or disable the light? I want to install my charger on the front of my house but i don’t want a light circle to be visible all night long while it’s charging…
Great review! There is just one thing I didn't get: in the first review you said you cannot start and stop charging from the app, I wonder if this feature has been added. I also wonder if you tried the WiFi connection. Thank in advance
Just installed a new Zaptec Go (as suggested by the electrician) for my 2nd house and missed the Easee (which I got for my 1st house) app already :)))))) where is the setting to limit your amperage? where is the setting of time limit (when to start and when to stop)? Zaptec app is simple but it seems to be too simple for me...
Great video! Love how you thoroughly review and in the meantime fill the jira backlog of Zaptec 😂. Do you know whether Zaptec supports V2H yet? Looking for a home charge for a Kia EV6? Many thanks!
Ongeveer eind mei komt Zaptec met een P1 Sense die in één apparaat zit. Je hebt dan geen bundels meer nodig met verschillende andere converters of apparaten.
Nice video! I have the Zaptec Go now for a month, no problems with logging out / resuming, very happy with the charger. I'm looking for a load balancing solution, I will try the Tibber Pulse (I used to have a Tibber account for the energy and didn't have any problems with the app (iPhone), so my account is still active. I will let you know how it went.
@@artimkalash3347It works flawlessly now for a couple of months. The load balancing is scaling down properly and back to max speed when possible again. Happy with it!
I’m having trouble getting mine to charge on the schedule. I plug it in -it goes green light as though it’s waiting for the scheduled charge to start but when the timer hits charge time it doesn’t charge. I have to check it’s working realise it’s not and then start the charge myself by hitting resume charge button on the app. Sometimes I then have to authenticate to get it to start charging even though it’s in the schedules charging period….disappointing, am I doing somthing wrong!?
I don’t use the scheduling but have encountered once that the light remained green and charging did not start. I think this is a backend glitch and it’s best if you contact Zaptec support with this issue.
Hi, I wish I could give you a simple answer right here on UA-cam. But alas I can't. So I would suggest that you contact us (Zaptec in your country) or your innstaller to get some help or more information on why this is happening.

Great video! I'm looking into buying a charger for the first time, and the Zaptec Go is being offered at a very competitive price by my electric company. I gather that you are very pleased over all with the unit overall. I understand that the setup is done using the app or through the manufacturers portal. Is this the usual way for many charger brands? Do you know if it's possible to do basic setup locally on the unit if you dont have internet? How about daily use? If the company goes under, are you stuck with a brick?
There are chargers that have no internet connection at all and the are set up on the device itself. It is indeed a concern that if companies go under, you can no longer use the device. That's why you should always look at the company that made it. That's why I'd never buy from an unknown small company. But it is indeed a risk.
@@hotdogsoup-nl Indeed. On that note, the Tibber Pulse unit is basically a MQTT client with a local config UI, and can be coaxed into working with home assistant for example.
You can configure a Zaptec Go using nothing more than the built-in rotary switch. We don't recommend this, because you won't be able to access all the features using this method, but the charger will still work. Likewise, Zaptec Go will function as a basic charge point without any connection to the internet; again, you won't get all the features, as some of these need a connection to the Zaptec cloud. We recognise that customers need to be able to use their charge point without dependency on Zaptec. I hope this helps!
The GDPR law dictates that sharing data can’t be done without consent (first). So they should have made you opt in when they implemented that. A simple email to request this should be enough to legally make them do it.
I spoke to our Zaptec App product manager and they've confirmed we don't transmit any personal data via crashlytics. We use it to send crash dumps only. Apologies: we should have made this clear. This will be fixed in a future release.

Is the Zaptec Sense P1 load balancing unit finally compatible for the Netherlands too?

Why doesn’t load balance work? Is there no support / right hardware?
Zaptec Sense is not yet compatible with P1 meters.
Just found your video about zaptac. About to get one installed next week. looking forward to seeing it installed and use it.
Great! Let me know what you think!
@hotdogsoup-nl absolutely. I took a look at the offer about the dynamic load balancing and it's one from enegic.
Same here, works as it should be! Iam really happy with it

Hey man, if you had to choose between zaptec go and ratio solar, which one would you choose?
I have no knowledge about the ratio solar unfortunately.
So you don't use the spot pricing optimization feature? Isn't it the most important thing with this charger?
No because I have a fixed tariffs contract so there is no use for me. It would not be fair to attempt to test it.

Hello, can I manuel set the Zaptec Go to charge at 5kW or 10kW? I have solarpanel and sometimes I want to slowcharge at example 5kW.
You can set the max fuse value and charging limits, plus a scheduled power control in the Dashboard (web site) but not in the app.
