Well done JP on another great dive.good number of scallops found.amazing close up of that scallops frills .really enjoyed this video.stay safe and happy diving.
That was a good video and good result on the scallop count and you had a few more than usel looking at the fish and how close you got was good any way till the next time take care JP and thanks again
Great listening to the experts. They have been diving for a very long time. Use to love going fishing out with Richard and we caught some fish cause he knew where they were. JP have you though of going down with Richard and filming him or dose he go too deep for you.
Hell - diving with Richard - its quite the experience and Jeff is even worse he absolutely screams along the bottom like a rotavator and generates a debris field similar to what a rotavator would. But damn both of them are good !
@@scubadive In the water this pair are both top athletes - I have seen both drain a tank flat (to zero bar) inside 16 minutes and still make 10 dozen - its not that they have 'poor air consmption' its the work rate on the bottom. Meanwhile I drag my gas out to 25 minutes on the bottom do 5 mins of deco and make 2 dozen scallops, they are back on the boat drinking tea !
@@paulcarre4719 they are extremely good at what they do. You can only really appreciate it fully when you have attempted yourself to do what they have done for so many years. 👍🏻
The numbers are put into a book for the sea fisheries so they can be used to assess the stocks, but mainly we have a bit of fun with it to. Some say that scuba diving isn’t a sport as it’s not competitive and more of a hobby. Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi John and thanks, Im not sure how old they are to be honest but I will check. Richard's getting new tanks every few years (3-4) along with new regs. They will be in test for sure as they get their tanks filled by the same shop as me and the bloke will not fill them if they are out. I had to buy a new pony bottle recently as he said even though it passed test the neck was starting to corrode on the surface and he wouldn't fill it anymore. 😀
I have but they are so fast underwater it is hard to catch up. They run around the seabed which kicks up sand and makes it hard to film them aswell. 😂😂

Cool video. Do you guys count the scallops just as a contest or do the numbers have to be reported as part of the fisheries? Thanks

On your first dive are you drifting with the current or kicking pretty briskly?
My first dive I was swimming across the tide but there was a bit of tide behind me pushing
Interesting vid,, just a question how old are the cyliders Jeff and Richard are using?

You should put a camera down with Keeny and Jeff
