Just had my share of suffering at this, got a mid-1:05 and what seems to be a fairly safe top 10% ranking time, and I decided to give up on this one. The car handles very very unusually and I noticed that the past few TTs are handing us a track that force us to drive a car in an unnatural way. The only thing left me puzzled (which may motivate me to do it again) is the corner at 1:59 of your video - it's just so strange to me......
If you have a 1:05 already and it sounds like you did not get the 1:59 corner right. Then that is the key in your case. We got 2 weeks for this challenge. Dont give up on day 3 :-)
@@aubitube i will go back to try for sure as I learned something from P2's drive too. But then on the other hand i also noticed that the ranking boards of the missions are reset, and went to try out the eco challenge, which i came out P2 worldwide for 2 challenges - at least for now. Just that i dont think anyone is interested in making a video of it on UA-cam 😂 EDIT: I tried again, but still haven't grasped the car's control and that particular corner. I don't understand - both the car and the corner behaves to counterintuitive to me......
@@aubitube I made a small improvement at the Subaru to keep myself in a safe silver. Overall speaking, this is a strange car to drive - willing to turn at mid-speed, but very reluctant on low or high speed. The way it turns changes drastically as i adjust the speed and the 1:59 corner is still hard to predict. On the other hand, I squeezed back into gold for the other one with a okay safety margin. I do feel unpleasant if the developers keep giving us cars that require counterintuitive and unnatural driving in the future.
Hi, I dont understand how you are able to exit turns with full power at 3rd and 4th gears when we have to reduce to 2nd or even 1st gear. You jumped from 1st to 3rd at 1:06, then again here at 1:23 this turn has to be done in 2nd gear but you jump to 4th, maintain it and then exit the turn without losing power? I dont understand this. It is not nitro because it is not allowed in this event, so is it a turbo setting that I am not aware of? What?
Reducing to 2nd or 1st gear when entering the corner will increase load change to the front so you get that little bit more grip to make the car turn instead of understeering. Due to the car having very high torque in low rpm already and for the fact of going downhill, you want to use a higher gear going out of the corners. If you maintain a sudden speed in the corner the car can easily handle the higher gear without too much performance loss. And it should be easier to handle due to lower risk of oversteering and in addition you do not loose time for gear shifting when accelerating to the next section.

Thanks, but since the gold border moved to a 1:04,555 I felt a bit uncomfortable. So I managed to slightly improve to a 1:04,2xx

Yeah, all rankings for missions were reset due to the physics update. Keep pushing!
