ever since the 5th season they've been giving some cool buffs to Necalli, I think most people regard him as boring because he was a Season 1 character that didn't get much sauce as the game evolved (I mean just look at the cool stuff Ryu, Ken and Chun can do now compared to season 1) I honestly hope they give him a second chance during SF6, he's a cool concept, tho I'll highly doubt they will
@@infernaldisdain8051 bro even before story mode dropped everybody considered him boring, story mode just made it worse but the damage was already done
Necalli is a mix of Wolverine, C. Viper, with a little bit of Evil Ryu stomps mixed in. I feel like his entire existence got written off in SFV. His meso-American demon god motif never went anywhere, and we were just left with this edgy cannibal who can't seem to be threatening despite his magic haircut.
Hi Baf! Hey, thanks for all these update videos, man, those patch notes are quite the doorstopper, and it's real appreciated that theres a resource that can help me get up to date, you know. Can't wait until you get to Rog and Zeku
So after poking around sfvsim, Light Disk's Guidance takes around 18f to hit from about the range that about max range St Mp's pushback leaves you. The last frame of hitstun that the opponent suffers from St Mp just so happens to be 18f after the last frame that you can cancel from St Mp. So the 1 added frame is just so that the St Mp xx Light Disk's Guidance is consistent if you cancel as late as possible at max range.
It's sad that Necalli didn't make much of an impact in SFV overall. I feel like most players dropped him over the years for stronger or newer characters and you could literally take him out of SFVs storyline and nothing would change. A shame considering he even got a big V tatoo on his face, as if to say he would be SFVs big boss character. I hope Capcom does have plans for him or else he will just have been a mountain of wasted potential as a character. I'd hate to see that because I love the IDEA of Necalli, his character story mode is pretty sick and I love the whole ancient wild warrior consuming powerful fighters thing he has going on. Just wish Capcom didn't do him dirty like that. Maybe I'll try out the patch. V-Skill I and Disc's Guidance buffs seem pretty sick.
He's a good character for beginners to take because he has good 3 frame normals, invincible AA/reversal, good anti airs, etc. Unfortunately he's a very boring character. He's lacking flashiness or a gimmick.
Necalli is such a waste that I can only compare him to the cartful of perishable meat I used to see late-night bums walk around with at Walmart for whole hours and then leave up at the service counter.
I mean, he’s funny in the sense that he’s yet another JoJo reference in a series that’s filled with it. I’ll always appreciate the Street Fighter devs being massive JoJo nerds. That being said, if I never see Necali in another SF game, I can’t say I’ll miss him. I’d much rather have Ed, Falke & Menat return. They have more potential for future character exploration imo, both gameplay and lore wise, than Necali does.
0:29 the only think I can figure for that 1 frame is either 1) makes possible some new cancels or 2) makes possible to CH confirm into cr.MK at max range (like, if you stuff the startup of a button in neutral)
I know Necalli has a zero percent chance of making it into sf6, but I thought the scene thing about Seth, he's still one of my favorites and I'm gonna pray that the stars align and he takes some story relevant characters slot, like Kolin
The difference between SF4 Seth and Necalli is that Seth is a charasmatic character, has an interesting kit, and players like Poonko and Online Tony to create hype. Necalli is just boring in every way besides his hair.
@@BearInThaWoods Pretty subjective on that. I think Necalli’s a much more interesting character from a lore standpoint and that the only thing Seth had going for him was his moveset. Neither of us are right on this as it’s up to taste and opinion.
So the changes to St Mp's cancel window now give Necalli a 15f window to single hitconfirm something which is up from the 14f window like it was before. Same window as Cammy Cr Mk confirm so maybe St Mp xx Disk's guidance in neutral was the intention. Edit: They also didn't alter the vt cancel window so that is now +13 instead of +12. Can't think of anything notable for that but maybe there is a niche microwalk or counter hit conversion I can't think of at the moment.
Plenty of comments make me worry that like Necro or Remy, Necalli will be trapped in SFV as a cool character concept poorly implemented and left behind by fans and company.
Fully agree with this, the three characters you mentioned are designs that have so much damn potential, it's just that they didn't flesh them out enough. Or made them "respectable".
I think Necalli is a great argument for not having a story mode. I thought he was cool when I thought he was just some berzerk wild man. But then I found out he was some jobber made of goop, and he wasn't cool at all. I've seen this effect many times in MK games as well.
@@franciscor390 While I’m glad that at least Kage is fun to *play* now I wish Necalli got some of that sauce too with being able to zip around like he does for flashy combos.
Surprisingly Necalli spend all SFV life time under the radar. I easily smashed the whole cast thanks to his excellent tools and reliability. In my opinion he was a round-up SFV character. And I loved to punish the idiots actions of opponents with his sHK or other crush counter moves.
Indeed. He's a solid character with good buttons and good frame numbers, no real weaknesses... But damn is he boring to play. He's just missing some oomph. He should have a more compelling VT2/VS2 and a command dive kick at the least
The buffs were cool and all but they still didn't addressed his main issues. Like we all know he has a problem with combos especially after frame traps the least they could do was extend the forward movement of his stomps or increase the range of his buttons its been 5 years and he's still always out of range to get any conversons.
I wish Necalli had a better dive kick. There are not enough viable dive kick characters in this game compared to SFIV. Necalli and Juri should both have real command dive kicks
Though these buffs are decent, this isn't enough. I had high hopes for him all the way and Capcom couldn't deliver. I was hoping we got things like: - Some sort of demon flip - LK and MK Valiant Rebellion becomes a 2 hit rekka, 2nd hit knocks down. - St.Hp linking into df.Hp - HK Valiant Rebellion and all variations of Raging light can link into clouded mirror. - All standing mid and heavy attacks can link into Heart of gold, it projects faster, can be charged, and crushes guard fully charged. - V reversal honestly should've been a command but you have Capcom to thank for that... A lot of people don't pick him up due to his bland play style. I hope he returns to SF6 with stronger development.
Yeah, I'd rather take Kage/Akuma and lose more often but have more fun playing. Necalli really doesn't have distinct builds with VS/VTs, and he's stuck playing a very simple and honest game. I agree that a demon flip or just a real command dive kick would be huge, and better than his command throw from the beginning
