Yes and people dislike it. But unrealistic for them to downplay people who dislike things and even hide or block their criticism. That is a curated attack and why everyone is fighting ign as well as calling out journalists who want to make things sound way better than they are. If they want to be fair, they should consider the negativity as well. That aside, IGN purposely wanted to hide successful games with a positive following simply because of a mistranslation that they themselves published, caused the game to not be nominated or even recognized in awards. Therefore, all “positive” reviews by IGN are not credible and are fabricated and possible sellouts to their political views.
We wish we knew: The writing was trash. The combat was repetitive. The companions were drab and boring. The puzzles were shockingly simple. The modern day politics peddling was excruciating. 9/10 - IGN
DA2, Inquisition, ME2, ME3, Andromeda were all of the same vein. If those are RPGs, then so is this. I remember when ME2 first came out and people were hating on it because of the streamlined RPG elements over ME1, now that game is considered a classic. I remember inquisition came out people were bashing it for not being focused enough. Won several game of the year awards. I think it’s funny how many people are bashing it that haven’t even played it or that have played very very little of it. Origins is one of my favorite games ever. I wasn’t a fan of 2. Inquisition I actually really enjoyed. I’m about 7 hours in on Veilguard and while I certainly don’t love all the choices they made, I’m still really enjoying it. Unfortunately, most people now days want to be told what to like and what they are allowed to enjoy rather than judge it themselves. The funniest thing are the people that haven’t played the game at all be wanting to to get on a reviewer for giving a certain score. How the hell would you know what score it should get? By listening to another review or opinion that says the opposite? 😂 At that point you’re just literally picking a different opinion that you like better. I’m totally enjoying what I’ve played so far and while I’m nowhere near a point where I’m qualified to review the game myself or give it a score, just totally based on the few hours I’ve played to this point, I’m not sure I would lean in the direction of a 9. I remember when games got better through the years... then all this positive workspace garbage took priority and we been forced to remake the old games to show devs how its done.
Lot of great stuff in here, but I quite like that the companions seemingly move around and do things (including hanging out with each other) instead of statically standing in one spot until interacted with. Indicating the deadline for their conversations/quests is also a big improvement.
It’s not bad. The story is what the hardcore fans come for, and they’re is tons of lore and unique experiences you can have depending on your choices, each area opens up and becomes less linear as you get through the huge game. If you’re here from the OG DA games, this is tight. It’s lore heavy and meaty with content. Everyone is hyper focused on ten lines of dialogue in a 100+ hr game. Hop off 😂 all the games decisions connect like mass effect, this is what the die hard fans have been waiting on, the casuals gotta pipe down If we get another, my Ideal dragon age game for next time: Baldurs gate tier decision making, free roam like the Witcher, combat like Witcher/veilgaurd (real-time) mixed with inquisition’s character swapping and then we need a return to form in terms of graphics, less saints row, more inquisition-esque, u guys have a gas IP and great lore, keep it coming , I’m all in
Honestly, as someone who played every single DA before that and their DLCs, all of this controversy sucks. Dragon Age was always open and inclusive, it's just that today's fights are different than those at the time of origins. My only problem is that if the writing and game play is as bad as some individual media claim, then it's a bad game despite whatever message it tries to send, doesn't matter if said message is good or bad. Especially after BG3 raised the RPG bar so high!
Well I bought it and I'm making up my own mind rather then picking up the torch and pitchfork and joining the mob to slay the Monster. Im really enjoying the game and I'm 3 hours in. Story is great, and adjust the horizontal and vertical sensitivity to 230 and the camera for combat is fantastic. Skill tree is cool 😎 I like 👍 and at least when you roam to find stuff in hidden areas most of the time something is there. Graphics are great and I also enjoy the new look of the characters 😀 . As for the gender identity, doesn't bother me, I'm playing a male elf named Jin. I'm happy and definitely entertained.

Anyway the best thing I’ve seen all year is the power to tune the difficulty in so many ways at anytime…………………….so no matter how much I suck at the game my feelings will be spared and no real effort is needed to have FUn sIGN me up……….Achoo ??? Anyone see the clip where you get scolded for misgendering someone, its so shoe horned in, and done in a way where you know its not really the characters talking to eachother, they are blatantly talking to the player/you. Its so clunky and ham fisted. The character might as well looked straight at the camera. You basically get told off for something you've not even done. If I had a friend I accidentally misgendered, and my apology wasn't good enough and they'd want me punished instead (doing push ups)..thats not a friend!! Thats an ahole!!
if anyone actually is in need of these exploration tips i feel really bad for them. the game has made exploration, puzzle solving, finding chest etc ridiculously easy like it might as weel just be automated. they dumped this down way too much

What don't you understand about why people dislike the game. It's the politics. The gameplay might indeed be slightly above mediocre. But the politics is rampant and immersion breaking. Grow a brain.

Even if we left out the ideology they pushed with this game it’s still just a stale as fuck game.
I wish you'd learn how to actually critique a game for being a good game and being fun.
I don't really feel like Bioware wants me to play this game.
