    I'd really like to see a video on your day to day hair care routine (what you use to wash, how often, products and tools that you use.) Your hair looks so incredibly soft and shiny.

      Ooh, I'd advise that the first thing to start with would be identifying your face shape- which I'm going to say is oval because it reminds me of Linda Darnell or Deanna Durbin! Aim for looks that are flat on top but have body to the sides xxx

    I just now came across your videos and wanted to say thank you. Great hair, great smile, lovely lady, just the lesson I was looking for. I like to style my hair without heat since it gets more than enough damage due to the process of lightening it. I currently use setting lotion and some roller type things for my curls and waves. idk what they are called, but they are long and thin foam strips covered with fabric and the ends snap together to make rings which you inter-link to get them to stay up while they are drying. I think I'm going to get a roller set like you use in this video though so I can try my best to follow you exactly. Thanks again!

    I've been watching your sponge roller videos and finally decided to try for myself this evening...but failed miserably. When I reach my scalp with the roller, and clip it in position, it just kind of flops forward...so I'm clearly doing something very wrong. It would be really useful to see a much slower video of how to actually get the roller in position (I absolutely love your videos though and can't wait to get the hang of it so I can try the different setting patterns). 💋

    Jessica have you thought of investing in a pedestal hairdryer as the old soft bonnet dryers are becoming harder to get, and personally I i think that there is nothing more relaxing than covering your rollers with a triangular setting net and relaxing under the dryer. ..you should try it sometime❤️
    Even though iam male I love being in rollers, it reminds me so much of my late mother setting her hair

    Wonderful video! I do have a question regarding curls though: How do you maintain them throughout the day? How do you keep them from drooping? Mine look great in the morning after the brushout, but they won't stay that way. I always pin curl if that has something to do with it? Cheers xx

    • @jessicaoutofthecloset
      @jessicaoutofthecloset  7 років тому +1

      Hi, I'm not one for pin curling but my curls using rollers really do stay in place all day and give great waves for at least the next three or four provided: (1) there is a slight dampness when they go into the roller (2) they are completely dry when taken out of the roller (3) I use a setting cream and (4) I don't brush too much through the day. I also sleep with my hair in a loose bun on top of my head and wrap it in a silk scarf. Hope that helps! x

    Hello, Lovely! I am wondering if you might be able to tell me where you got the stretch net to go over your curlers? I am in the US and can only seem to find triangle nets or wig caps, neither of which will work to go over my extra thick, extra long hair with curlers in. I’m the singer of a ‘40s big band and it would be wonderful to just go to shows and brush my hair out. Plus, my hair only holds curl in a wet set. Thank you!

  • @sknight3946
    @sknight3946 6 років тому +1

    My hair never seems to dry overnight and so when I release it from the rollers it is still damp and the curl is ruined. Can you dry your hair with a hair dryer for this look or will that take away the shine?

    I have been trying to roll my hair for a few months using these pink rollers and so far I've got the hang of it but my brushout never turns out good, my hair remains very curly with little curls going everywhere almost like an unkept Rita Hayworth hairsyle. It's cute but it's not the 40's look I'm going for. Does anyone know where the the problem is ? I don't use any hair product, is that why ? Or is it just due to my hair being naturally curly, enhancing the curls when I roll it ?

    I'd love to see vintage looks on short hair.... is that even possible?

    • @jessicaoutofthecloset
      @jessicaoutofthecloset  7 років тому +5

      Definitely possible! It depends on how short your hair is of course... Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn are great inspirations and even Grace Kelly's hair was short for a while. This article has some good pictures: www.glamamor.com/2012/12/the-hair-style-file-elizabeth-taylor.html If I ever cut my hair shorter I'll definitely be doing some vintage styles with it x

    Do you find these hairstyles to last all day? I've never had """short""" hair before (hair that falls above my breasts) but I would like to try it so I can wear hairstyles like these. What's putting me off however is the fear that the curls won't last very long...I don't want to cut my hair and learn to style it just to discover that within 4-5 hours my curls are gone, you know?

    • @cocoacutie3338
