Welcome to the wonderful world of motorcycles Jim. Congrats. Good move not replacing the scratched bits yet. One other tip. The exhaust heats up very quickly so don’t be tempted to wipe it off while cleaning with a microfiber towel. They melt immediately. Or so I’m told 😅 enjoy!
Those small screens are called fly screens and believe it or not, they do help redirect air (usually over the shoulders) so that your torso doesn't mimic a parachute. I just cleaned up my Ducati Multistrada V4S last night. Enjoy the new ride!
It did make me chuckle when you said you don't really want to use it now that it's clean lol, that's exactly how I felt driving my car home after you'd finished it!! Lovely to see your new hobby Jim, have fun and stay safe.
As a biker since the 90’s it’s great to see a motorcycle on the channel Jim. I am very fussy when cleaning my bikes and probably spend way to much time on it 😂 but one area i do degrease regularly is by removing the front sprocket cover as theres always a large amount of old chain oil behind there. Hope to see more bike on the channel.
Welcome to the biking community! I've definitely spent the first two years of my biking life cleaning more than riding so totally understand not wanting to get it dirty after all that work. This is how some of us end up with more than one bike. Ride safe:)
I watch this video knowing i will never get the chance to clean my bike like this but i do my best. Most people ask if my 8 year old bike is new so i think i do a great job 😜
Great video Jim. I bought a BigBoi Pro Mini (new) and after about 9 months the hose had a big hole in it. All BigBoi (Australia) had to say regarding warranty was "we don't have the small diameter hose anymore, but thanks for contacting us". Regardless of the warranty aspect, they didn't even have a small diameter hose as a spare part. Considering how many of the Pro Mini's they sold, the hose should be a spare part for a good few years after they increased the diameter size. I'll never buy anything of theirs again.
Hi what about adding chain lube when chain is turning the correct way when it goes that way round 99.9% of the time and do not travel backwards. P.s I am not having a go just showing best way.
Top content as always Jim! Never fails to amaze me what you can do with the right products and techniques! And you never fail to give me new techniques and ideas for my own work. Keep it up mate!
There is a significant amount of wind protection from that little windscreen. Even a small wind defector will help push the wind from your chest to around your head area. It helps quite a bit especially on the freeway.
10:35 i think it could help to reduce bugs splattering behind the dial or hard to reach areas. anyway, bikes are definitely exciting. enjoy and ride safe, jim!
Bikes are an absolute bugger to clean! I’m a new biker and the first couple times cleaning it, I’d think it was clean until it dried, then it looked manky again! Now when it needs a good clean I find it much easier to whip all the plastics off, take the wheels off and then I can get into all them places I just can’t reach with the bike in 1 piece.
Have you recently done your bike test Jim? Congrats if you have welcome to the biker family😊. Tar and glue remover is your friend fkr the rear end of a bike chain lube etc. Little tip 😂
Congrats on the purchase, Jim. With screen, I reckon. You might find there's a little pocket you can tuck into on the brisker runs. Nowhere to hide on a naked bike!
Absolutely awesome job there. Welcome to the world of 2 wheel fun! Hopefully we’ll have some nice crisp dry days before Winter truly sets in. Take care!
Putzen, kannst alleine 😊! Ich fahre lieber 😂 ! Gruss Monsunregen Zeit , u Danke . Thailand 1959. Ps. Aber den Zündschlüssel, habe ich trotzdem gleich mal gereinigt 😊! Klemmt eh etwas 😊!
Not bike or car related but a spray around your outside are with Patio Magic (when you get some dry weather) will get rid of all the green algae on your outside walls and paving. Nice bike though and nice to have one of the last 4 cylinder mid capacity bikes left.
Paddock stands are great but get yourself an ABBA stand, I’ve got the Superbike stand 2 with the roller kit for my cbr600rr but you can get fitments for the cb650 neo cafe aswell, great video as always and nice to get some pointers and product ideas 👍
Nice one! We did a GS1200 earlier in the summer. Haven't gotten around to doing the video yet. Makes me want to get my own bike again. Haven't ridden for years lol. The shop on the industrial estate has a Street Triple R for sale... 😰
i would leave the fly screen on mainly just for looks (imo) anf although they dont do much they do help a bit - nice to have for the colder days and it will reduce a bid of wind resistance .. fact :when the fly screen is red it adds 1.5 hp 😁
Jim welcome to the biker fold :). Couple of things though - mask tyrs and brake components before spraying stuff with an unknown coefficient of friction on :) More seriously you dont get a second chance on a bike so overtakes at junctions are a no-no (22:46) . Get yourself on a BikeSafe course and make a video of it - then consider going on to do IAM Roadsmart or RoSPA advanced training. all the best!
Thanks, noted! I was going to wrap a towel around the adapter if I'm honest as I was conscious of this myself. May research getting the proper bobbins installed
I'm not into bikes, but I'd still tune in if you were cleaning a bloody lawnmower. Would be interesting to know how you filmed the scenes when you were on the bike at the end. Great Friday viewing 🤙
NO WINDSCREEN AND TAKE TGE MOUNT OFF AS WELL IT’S NOT BIG ENOUGH TO BE FUNCTIONAL 💯 Definitely polish and protect it then post it for sell but at least it looks better if you do decide to keep it on🎩
Really enjoyed the video, but I have to say my heart stopped a few times when I saw the chain lube and other products being sprayed near the tyres and brakes !!! How was the first ride after the detail ?
Nice bike Jim concats, how is the ride do you sit a bit straight up? I.m looking for a new bike that's sits more straight up. My current bike is a Honda CBR600Fi but this CB650r is good looking also.
I always been cautious from power washing the whole bike. All the wires, connections in the deeper parts of the construction is making me worried about soaking them in water and soap.
Nice to see a bike being detailed 😊 Just wondered what product you used on the microfibre when wiping down the tyres after applying BC-06? Also is BC-06 safe to get on tyres and brakes without masking them off first? Safe biking 😎👍🏻
Those hose clamp on honda, hate it...Such a beautiful bike and still Honda till today didn't fix rust issues..I guess it will kill them to put rust free clamps
I’ve been using wet steam and compressed air afterwards to clean my bikes for a few years now…. Gets into all the tight areas and blasts away debris and bugs easily .
If your doing a bike that is faired with a screen soak any dead flies with soaked microfibre clothes, stick the to the front of the bike, the wetness reactivates the flies and makes them soft and easy to remove

Bikes are just brilliant 😊
At last someone to how to detail a bike!!!
Been detailing bikes now for 4 years and no decent videos on line till yours.
Thanks again.

Great to see you doing something for yourself for a change, you deserve it you work hard enough

That leg over the seat in time to the beat . Perfection, nice edit Jim. 👌🏻
I watch this video knowing i will never get the chance to clean my bike like this but i do my best. Most people ask if my 8 year old bike is new so i think i do a great job 😜
I haven't had a bad Honda product ever, great company. Enjoy the ride!
Radiator guard looks much better in black 👍

Put it back on them and remind them of consumer law. Sounds like the company forgets this and consumer law is to protect you

Who's that handsome chap on the black and red CBR650R? 😉Looking forward to many more rides out together mate!
Congrats! That's a beautiful machine.
Thanks!
Between the hedges and (now) shiney side up!!
Stunning bike, I guess it's the cleanest bike in town, your mate will want their bikes cleaning
I love your absolute attention to every detail.
Definitely keep the screen you will be thankful for it at higher speeds, and especially this time of year with the bugs 😂
If you're going to do some longer rides, I would look at something like a Puig windscreen. Make those long distances a bit more comfortable.
love japanese engineering. nice bike.
The best IMO
Excellent Jim ! Welcome to the world of throwing away money and also motorcycling

Bro congrats ! the king is back, we love you from the USA !!

Nice choice Jim, I was going to go with this one but went with a cb400. Honda make amazing bikes.
Have you recently done your bike test Jim? Congrats if you have welcome to the biker family😊. Tar and glue remover is your friend fkr the rear end of a bike chain lube etc. Little tip 😂
Jim adds to his online university. Thank you sir
Congrats on the purchase, Jim. With screen, I reckon. You might find there's a little pocket you can tuck into on the brisker runs. Nowhere to hide on a naked bike!

Thailand 1959.
Ps.
Aber den Zündschlüssel, habe ich trotzdem gleich mal gereinigt 😊! Klemmt eh etwas 😊!
Nothing quite like the feeling of getting out on a bike.👍
😂 oh, Lord, it's heavy Raining, come on, let's Detail 😂 Jim we love you 🫣😂🥸
Lovely bike Jim. I have the same in matt black. I’ve had PPF put on the tank and headlight. Enjoy and great to see an excellent bike detail.
Love to see you rest some bike specific products like Muckoff for example.
Loved that, makes me want to go and clean my bike,....again!
Not bike or car related but a spray around your outside are with Patio Magic (when you get some dry weather) will get rid of all the green algae on your outside walls and paving. Nice bike though and nice to have one of the last 4 cylinder mid capacity bikes left.

Great to see some Bike Detailing, I Ride a Honda Africa Twin.
Nice one!

Makes me want to get my own bike again. Haven't ridden for years lol. The shop on the industrial estate has a Street Triple R for sale... 😰
Hello Jim from Australia🙃
Cool bike and it looked great after you had finished with it!
Go the Honda 👍 Fantastic Machines..
Thanks 👍

go out! you always feel better, and itll be so easy to clean now!
Sure will! Thanks Scott

Thanks for the pointers - can't see me getting out on the bike again any time soon. 🌧️🌧️
Wow Jim this is amazing 🤩 what a beautiful bike 🏍️ brilliant detail ❤
They do a nice brushed aluminium fly screen, much nicer than the clear one.
Congratulations Jim. Lovely looking bike! I would definitely leave the tiny windshield off. Bike looks so much better without it. Great video. 👍👌
Cheers Gareth
Impeccable as expected, I miss my old aprilia, too many near misses with idiots typically on there phones...safe riding👍
Nice,, the big boi works so good on motorcycles,, maybe see you at willingham somtime👍
@12:52 these L- shape things can scratch swingarm especially when they are dirty. Beautiful bike !
Thanks, noted! I was going to wrap a towel around the adapter if I'm honest as I was conscious of this myself. May research getting the proper bobbins installed
Done a few bikes Jim. Smashed my knuckles every time !! 😃
Haha, I can imagine. I'm just lucky there is no gloss paint on the honda that needs polishing/correcting!
Bikes are always fun. Different video for sure.
Thanks! I enjoyed this one myself 🤘🏼
With screen , just to protect the digital panel 👍
Looks better without, but on a naked you need all the wind protection you can get no matter how small
Ooooo! a nice change, know where to take my bike when it needs a clean😂😂😂😂
I'm not into bikes, but I'd still tune in if you were cleaning a bloody lawnmower. Would be interesting to know how you filmed the scenes when you were on the bike at the end. Great Friday viewing 🤙
Nice bike Jim. Stay safe.
Liking the look with the visor on. Sexy bike!
Thanks!
Love the video, definitely with the fly screen
Cheers badger - agreed. Screen will remain.
I like te little windscreen.
Nice work, wish you were local to me 😊
Nice looking bike, should ppf the light and face of the forks. Stops alot of the stone chips.
Was wondering if you were going to ceramic coat your helmet too. Great vid as always.
The GOAT 🐐
Nice buy Jim classic Honda's are cool bikes. Is BC-06 heat resistant for the exhaust. Ride safe..🏍
NO WINDSCREEN AND TAKE TGE MOUNT OFF AS WELL IT’S NOT BIG ENOUGH TO BE FUNCTIONAL 💯 Definitely polish and protect it then post it for sell but at least it looks better if you do decide to keep it on🎩
Nice machine. Personally I think it looks better with the windshield but not sure how much utility it has.
I love the 650!
Thanks! Very happy with it!
Hi! Tell me please the model of your windshield, it is so minimalist, I would like to order one for my Honda cb650r 24'. Thank you!
Really enjoyed the video, but I have to say my heart stopped a few times when I saw the chain lube and other products being sprayed near the tyres and brakes !!!
How was the first ride after the detail ?
Looks amazing 🎉
😎🤘🏼 thanks

What products did you use?
I always been cautious from power washing the whole bike. All the wires, connections in the deeper parts of the construction is making me worried about soaking them in water and soap.
What is your recommendation for cleaning/polishing a scratched up gloss black key fob?
15:15 Careful when spraying lube onto your chain like that since the overspray is going onto your tyre. Nobody likes a lubed tyre.
Nice to see a bike being detailed 😊
Just wondered what product you used on the microfibre when wiping down the tyres after applying BC-06? Also is BC-06 safe to get on tyres and brakes without masking them off first?
Safe biking 😎👍🏻
Cheers - enjoyed working on it myself (and filming it) would have been surfexHD on a damp mf towel on the tyres. No issues with 06 👍🏼
What do you recommend for cleaning the exhaust headers; I couldn't find a link anywhere? TIA
How did you drop it? Tip my dad gave me: only move it when you’re sat on it. I’ve got a CBR650.
It was dropped when Jim bought it.
@@sthildas4857 ah I see. That’s a shame.
Is it the little OEM windshield?
With small windscreen but all black 😉
Hi,how many cm you have?,this bike will be good for 188🤔
Those hose clamp on honda, hate it...Such a beautiful bike and still Honda till today didn't fix rust issues..I guess it will kill them to put rust free clamps
Hola, ¿que le has puesto cerámico a pistola?, donde se consigue, gracias.
It's Modesta BC06 - only available to the installer network sadly. Research your local Modesta shop and perhaps they could help 👍🏼
I’ve been using wet steam and compressed air afterwards to clean my bikes for a few years now….
Gets into all the tight areas and blasts away debris and bugs easily .
all this trouble for the next ride in rainy day???
Beauty 🔥👌
Does anybody know where he got his wall mount spotlights ?
Subbed for more bike videos
What pad/polish combination do you use to polish the windscreen? I have an s1000xr that has a taller windscreen and it’s starting to get some swirls
From memory, yellow Koch Chemie compound on a lake country mf cut pad and refined up with Cartec 9000 on a lake country orange foam polishing pad
I use Megs PlastX plus yellow foam.
If your doing a bike that is faired with a screen soak any dead flies with soaked microfibre clothes, stick the to the front of the bike, the wetness reactivates the flies and makes them soft and easy to remove
😂😂😂😂😂
whats so funny melt@@stephentootle6388
Nice.
With windscreen!
Is BC-06 ok on rubber?
Yes an all surface coating.
With!
Nice Mortuary cycle 👍🏻
Your mates will be knocking on your door.
