- The number of lowballers, scammers, and time wasters contacting us about our Lamborghini Huracan has been exponentially higher than any other car we've owned. It's frankly shocking just how bad it is. So let's discuss some of these people and their idiotic comments.

You have the patience of a Saint. I once tried to sell a few dining room tables online, they were really nice and i priced them more than fairly. Needless to say the amount of ridiculously low offers and the fact that people are okay wasting others peoples time made me loose alittle bit of hope in society.

Sold a 2018 911 and it was nuts. I had a lot of people wanting to send a wire transfer and just have a truck pick up the car. It gets very hard to distinguish what is real.

Lamborghini is a brand that appeals more to lower class and poser individuals than Ferrari. Ferrari intentionally rejects those type of people by making it hard for posers with money to purchase their vehicles. By rejecting posers, Ferrari has mainly made its brand exclusive to higher class people, therefore, giving them less association with posers who will give a lower image of the brand. Most lower class people aspire to be like posers, therefore, they want a Lamborghini since that what posers mainly drive.

My friend owns an asphalt business and he earned his lambo. I rode in it a few times and its an incredible machine. One guy in a c8 was waving and many people were staring - not because he wanted to be a poser but because lambos are beautifully designed.

That's why the Lamborghini's next generation Revuelto couldn't beat a 5 year older SF90. Even Ferrari's entry-level mid engine 296 GTB performed better than the Revuelto against the SF90. Yes. Dealing with this now- I recently listed my Aventador for sale (have no room to keep, super sad to let it go) and it has been to say quite interesting on the calls and offers I get daily. Trade offers of boats, Rolexes, real estate, to lowballs, to good offers of people who can’t get a loan, consigners, dealers, people asking what do you do to afford the car, to spam, scammers etc. It’s absolutely crazy

I think this kind of comes with the territory. Young people have dreams and do stupid things. I remember poking around dealerships as a kid. I never wanted to waste anyone's time but the hope that it's one day possible was inspiring. People should be respectful though and no one has shame on social media these days. I think that colour is stunning though. Cool to see what it's like from the dealers point of view.

I’ve had a series of American sports cars and have a strange amount of people stop me and ask how much I want for the car. I would tell them it’s not for sale and they persist so I would throw out what I thought to be the value and every one of them will say it’s not worth that price. I think they went to all that to get me to say a price that they could shoot down. I just ignore the question now.

I had the same experience last fall when I placed a Huracán Evo ad on the usual car selling websites. I had one response that was similar to your message from “Poland”..mine was from “Syria”. The rest were a mixture between ridiculously low offers and those that texted me asking questions - ultimately wanting my phone number so they call right away as we were texting - but would never make the actual call. I agree, I think these people get some twisted pleasure from it.🙄

The Prom question was laughable.. why on earth would you let a 17 year kid drive your Lamborghini. There is no amount of money that would fly with me. I’m not dealing with a 17 year kid. I flat out wouldn’t sell my exotic to one even if they had the cash, after all the love I’ve lavished on my baby. That’s just an accident waiting to happen.

You really have a good temperament! I quickly released it was so much easier for me to sell my sports cars to my friend who is an exotic car locator/ dealer. He cuts a check and I save a ton of time and dealing with folks with Zero money!

When I was selling my car last year around this time I got the same request for prom rentals. The most unique offer I remember was someone wanted to "pay me" $10k over to send them the title to a PO box and then after they received the title they would arrange to have the car picked up and shipped with a wire.

Your test drive requirement is very strict needed deposit and insurance.
In the UK the dealer has insurance, they usually just want to see you're a serious buyer first and make sure you can finance it.

That’s wild if never do that even when I was younger and in school. Now that I can buy a more expensive vehicle, I have been harassing the Porsche dealer. But it’s simply due to the fact I’ve never bought a vehicle that cost nearly 150k. Plus seeing how the manufacturing issues are going and how fast they’re getting they’re getting them. Patiently waiting for my allocation, ok fine I’m not and pestering the hell out of them 😂

I hate when people ask what you do for a living? It's like they want a cookie cutter method to success. What works for me might not work for you. They need to focus on 1 thing and be super good at it. There's money to be made in any field if you know what your doing!

Good UA-cam this, I’m tasked with helping sell my buddy’s Murcielago, with my old engine (on a pallet, which he has from an old deal with me) as commission, OMG it’s sooo draining, pic sharing emails late into the night, and “what’s your lowest price”…I hate it. I’ve been I’m in business dev (successfully) for 30 years and seen nothing this bad!!

Unfortunately, I’m 6’4” and 270 lbs. I can’t fit 🤷♂️ I barely fit in my wife’s Audi R8 coupe, and I’ve heard the Lambo has 4” less headroom. I broke down and bought a new Ferrari Roma, but still haven’t driven it. It’s sitting at the Austin dealership awaiting a Novitec stage three mod and tune

You should sell vintage cars, 911s from late 80s, old Ferrari's 308/328/355, Lotus Esprite S3. if you have to do Lambos than Countach (not 25th anniversary), Diablo. These people have the money without haggeling, not a up and coming UA-camr or rapper. By the way, I drive a Mazda MX5 RF ND2. :D My next car WILL be a C8 Z06 convertible. That is what I can afford without loan. You should not buy cars you can't afford.

When I sell on FB marketplace, I ALWAYS post in the ad, 'If you're reading this, it's still available.' I state I won't respond to the "canned" reply. No matter what, I still get the reply. I do not reply, I don't care. I've had a lot of scammers, post that, they still try. just got the 'I'll send you a 6-digit code' one LOL. Good for you to waste these

The guy from Poland made me LOL. I was selling my daughter's car to a Canadian Tree arborist working in the Brazilian rain forest, wanting to buy the car in Russian rubles. Blah, Blah, blah. So I wrote back to him, expressing how interested I was in his job, oh, to have his wife come to my city, with was close by. to look at the car. Blah, blah blah. Nothing! I guess he must have had a tree fall on him. 🦊

I love that car including the color. The issue with it is the previous owner removed all the emissions equipment making it impossible to register in CA, you biggest market for a purple lambo. I think the asking price it a bit over market even withh dealer mark ups.

Yeah, I think it's a combination of a) Facebook just being a cesspool in general, b) Lamborghinis being considerably more popular with the kids (teens, early 20's), to the point that "Lambo" is practically a meme, and c) it's trivially easy for anyone to spend 30 seconds sending a message. They'd never go to a dealership to waste time like that, but it's a quick FB message so they do it and then tell their friends at school the next day that they were "talking to someone about buying a lambo". If Ferraris were that popular with the kids you'd get more of those probably as well. The rest of it is just the usual internet scams and BS.
I am curious, however, how often you actually have gotten good leads or actual sales from FB. I just have a difficult time imaging that it's in any way a productive forum.

For serious buyers it's becoming more tedious as well. I have been looking for an R8, cash in hand and some dealers (in Germany) refuse a test drive unless you pay them for it. I'm not paying for something that should be a matter of course. Ferrari has always been great and has invited me on multiple test drives in multiple countries. Mercedes is even better, they gave me a car for a whole weekend to test drive. Of course those aren't hundreds of thousands of Euros but the way a dealer treats you is part of the experience. I stopped selling my cars myself because of the scammers and time wasters.

I have a friend who dismantles imported JDM and Euro cars and another who's a high-end jeweler. They both tell me shocking stories of people who try to trade useless items for car parts or jewelry. Offers include a pair of size 10 Nikes, plumbing equipment, and 'rare jewels'.
My mate's responses to these dickheads were much like yours - or they'd say, 'if you're seriously interested, sell all that junk, if the jewls are rare, they'll sell in no time, then come back'.

If it were me I would tell them to go to the website for sales.... set up a form to fill out which includes what YOU want/need to verify. Any serious buyer won't mind. The rest will fail the required info to continue. Social media is a pain and having a presence there and doing business is 2 separate things. Find ways to filter out the mud to get to the drinking water.

The Huracan attracts a lot of wannabes. If a person does not already own a exotic or is trading one, you may have a poser on your hands. The Lambo culture tends to be very shallow. There are cool owners but they already own one. :)

Could you talk about insurance? If some has cheaper cars but now wants to buy a $250K car, how would they get insurance to cover a more expensive car before they bought it? I tried to rent a Ferrari once and the rental place was very shady on this issue.
Unfortunately, most insurance companies don’t want to or simply won’t offer coverage for an exotic.
I had Erie insurance and GEICO both drop me completely, even though I’ve never had an accident or any tickets. Thankfully Haggerty specialty insurance covers everything

Huracans I feel like are still priced very high, 458/488 by comparison have calmed down a bit since the price peaks.

@@normalguysupercar I don't disagree, and probably why they move better. Almost every huracan I've seen is at or over MSRP as a used car. Also the average Ferrari customer is in general a more serious person than a Lamborghini customer.

Yeah, I have to agree with a few of the commentors regarding Lambo culture vs. Ferrari. In my experience most Ferrari owners are more muture and really care about their cars. Whereas, Lambo dudes rev the crap out of their "Cold" 🙄 engines, don't keep up on maintenance, and drive their cars so hard it never surprises me when they blow a head gasket, or throw a rod... crazy Lambo dudes 😮. I suppose that's why most of those crazy car inquiries are interested in Lambos and Not Ferrari's...
