*Editor Note:* There have been a few issues raised by this video that we wanted to address. First, it has been noted that some of the facts in this video seem like “generalizations” that do not always pertain to someone with autism. Second, it has been claimed that the video paints autism as “bad” or “Wrong” and could be offensive to someone with autism. Last, there has been a reference to Autism Speaks which is not viewed favorably by many in the community. For any misunderstanding arising from this video we apologize. Our intentions are far from wanting to hurt, offend, damage, or in any way tarnish anyone who has autism. Quite the contrary. Our desire was to raise awareness to people with Autism. Again, if this video has been offensive to you, please accept our apologies. - Juan
that was a good video. i have aspergers and i did not take any offense to this. most of it is stuff i knew but im glad that there are videos explaining it. i see a lot of people discriminate and hate us. but we have plenty of talents and skills too. people just have to get to know us and try to understand. thanks for the video. you should do another one this april.
DO NOT GIVE TO AUTISM SPEAKS! Autism speaks rarely uses money raised to directly help those with autism and instead funnels its money and time into helping the parents which though is helpful to some extent they make out that autism only exists in children and that the children will always be badly behaved. Autism speaks has little to no actually autistic people working for them and is looking to eliminate autism entirely. Autism isn't a bad thing. Being Autistic isnt something that should be cured because it's not a horrible thing. What is horrible is being marginalised by a charity that's meant to be supporting autistic people. They create advertisement that shows autistic people to be a burden on society, a video that has now been taken down where a member of the board said about how she sometimes comtemplates killing her autistic daughter while the daughter was preasent, made a video called "I am autism" that compares it to AIDS cancer and saying it will ruin the parents marriage. A much better charity is 'The Autistic self advocacy network". It is so import that big channels like this don't endorse a charity that doesn't speak for the autistic and instead enforces stereotypes around the condition. Please DO NOT give to Autism Speaks.
SleepyDruid Yeah, he meant we are more likely to die young but it was a bad video to make that mistake on considering how many autistics will be watching out of curiosity and will feel an irristable urge to point such a tiny mistake out (including myself, you can relax, SJW lynchmob).
LOL, Tell me why I have not had my seizure yet. PS: I have been exposed to flashing lights all throughout my life. NOTE: This comment is a joke, idiot.
my 7yr old daughter has high functioning autism and ADHD. My daughter teaches me new things everyday. My daughter never fails to amaze me, shes a true gift and I feel very lucky to have her. She's so bright, creative and totally focused on whatever she finds interesting. It's amazing to watch her soak up information.
if you check out my page, you can see his announcement the day we found out his super power everyday he teaches me something new, he's helped me see the world in a totally different way
Namuh Entertainment why did you reply with the exact same thing on every single comment? It definitely does exist, I have it, and what I would say is it "tips" your intelligence(you are much more skilled at some subjects and much less skilled at others). I have a very light form of it though and do not have much trouble socially.
Autism Speaks rejects any form of self advocacy among those who are high functioning, and instead seeks things that most of the autistic community, which I'm a part of, flat out doesn't want. While I know the reference is well-meaning, the inclusion of that organization at the end means that I will not share or like this video. There are other organizations which are not only more worthy, but which could use the exposure. Autism Speaks spends more on fundraising and awareness, it's true; but much of that might instead be used to actually help autistics and their families cope. So while this is pretty good information, I can't offer support to this video because of it.
Hooray for autism, I have High-Functioning-Austism, (Male, 25, living in Melbourne, Australia) and other than social interactions and finding a job that I manage to sustain, I wouldn't want a cure even if it was available now. I am happy just the way I am, and being different isn't bad, it's AWESOME!!! :D
TurboLibra14 the StardustBlader I do to the first point is so me but I would not trade it fir the world I find you see everything differently and it give me the gift of music
Of all the things you said, by no means should you ask people to go to "Autism Speaks." I'm mildly autistic myself and I know that that organization is the last one you should check out. They shed a bad light on autism. Most of their money lines their own pockets. I'm not going to discredit everything they've done. I have heard some good things about them and their research, but they are not an organization that I would suggest.
I gave you a thumbs-up in spite of you sending people to Autism Speaks. The autistic community does not endorse them for good reasons. Parent groups often promote a false image of autism with dangerous approaches to dealing with it. ABA is similarly questioned by those with first-hand experience of autism. It's not like there are no people to consult about this, groups that refuse to listen to those on the spectrum who communicate well about their experiences are making a choice to promote themselves over the welfare of their children. It's probably not worse than having your strengths downplayed and being abusively trained to "act normal" but it borders on Munchausen by proxy.
God bless u❤ life is hard for a lot of us...trust me! I'm neurotypical and life is not easy for me. Everything happens for a reason tho and we are blessed! By the way my toddler son is autistic and I love him more than anything in the world
I am 32 and my fiancé is 27. Our son was diagnosed with ASD, language disorder, and global delay at 18 months. Autism isn’t a bad thing but I did get emotional when given the diagnosis. Since then, we have put him into speech therapy and are on the waiting list for OT. Our insurance won’t cover anything “autism-related”.... I think that should be illegal. We are having trouble getting him into ABA therapy, with that being said. Autism or not, my little man is intelligent and handsome and has made some impressive breakthroughs with only 3 sessions of speech therapy. We are so blessed to have been given a diagnosis early and my fiancé is the most amazing woman that I have ever met. If not for her, my naivety would have resulted in a late diagnosis. Lots of love to everyone out there with autism and to all of the amazing parents that stand behind their little angels ❤️
Hey Mike - THANK YOU especially for #1! Hey parents - if you're here specifically for Autism Spectrum, hang in there. I know it can be frustrating trying to figure out a diagnosis or getting the right help but be vigilant - you are your child's advocate. My son is 8 yrs old & he's been in Early Intervention since birth (Speech, PT, OT, Behavioural Therapy) & just recently a psychologist has started thinking A.S.D. Luckily we've learned so many strategies along the way that getting an ACTUAL diagnosis doesn't surprise us. If your pediatrician isn't listening, find another. If another mom is saying "I'm sure that's normal" but you know it's not, start researching yourself. You know your child & you feel your instincts. It's better to be wrong than to find out much later....you were right! Take care & Good luck!
the puzzle piece is kind of a rude symbol to use since in itself it Implies that autistic people are "missing a piece" but I know you weren't trying to be rude 😥
My older sister has quite serious autism, I'm the only one in the family who can communicate with her and help her socialise and she has been like that since I was born I'm now 12 and she is 17, at school she was crossing a road she wandered of to a puddle in the road, even though she will always be different then others she is the closest person to me and is the most amazing speller that I know
Make sure that she's safe if she wanders off into the road again, I'm pretty sure you already know that by now because your 12 but just, make sure she's safe.
I'm 18 and only just getting diagnosed with Autism. I'm so embarrassed about myself because I'll just break down and cry when I'm overwhelmed. I just suddenly become 6 years of age.
As an Autistic person, I'm glad the people behind this video and list debunked some of the stupid myths about my disorder. If anyone has any questions about how Autism is for me, feel free to ask. Also, no offense, but numerous people have concluded Autism Speaks to be a bad organization.
The main reason autism speaks considered so bad, autism speaks does not have people with autism in their organization. So if they don’t have physical ties To autism Then how can they speak for autism if they don’t even know what they’re speaking about?
being diagnosed with autism myself, i actually feel really good watching this video. there are way too many people that are either misinformed or simply blinded by stereotypes.
My mother knew I had it but stopped my treatment when I was little and got mad at me for showing symptoms growing up. All my life I knew something was different but when I asked it was blown off. I got diagnosed and found old medical records that proved she knew.
Terrific video! Well researched. I have autism myself and help thousands of children with autism around the world every day. I'll be giving a TEDx Talk this weekend coming up to share what I know and what I do. Autistics are every bit as capable and filled with potential as anyone else. We may just need a little extra help in getting there, especially when bullies try to get in our way just for being a little different.
I have Aspergers and I assure you despite what the "new studies" say Aspergers and Autism are only similar for there are many, many differences of behavior between the two! I greatly take offense in anyone saying that they are the "same".
I am also offended by your offense. I'm sure you are smarter then i am. You are a different person than me. But at a different level than my low spectrum end grandson.
@@britishbirdie9113 Wdym "highest end"? There are no ends to the autism spectrum. It's a spectrum, not a grayscale. Spectrums are round. Circles have no ends.
Thank you! So glad I got my 3 year old daughter diagnosed as soon as we noticed the signs! I will support and love her and give her the best so she can live life to the fullest! Thank you again 😊
Eva La'Strange good day. Eva. My name is Tracy i am happy you have a family of your own. I wander if I might inquire how you met your fiancé My son is 23 now and has met young ladies online and then traveled to meet them. He realizes that may not be the best way to meet a life partner. Any words of encouragement would be much appreciated.
I knew it about for awhile and I wish people can talk about it more so children on the spectrum can get a better idea on if they want to raise kids on their own if they want to. I hope more women on the autism spectrum can talk about their experiences of being pregnant while on the spectrum (if some decide if they want to get pregnant)
I have been married for six years and we have two children. I would suggest trying to meet people who engage in the same interests as you do. Join a Club, attend lectures on the topics that interest you. For many aspies it is a lot easier to talk in these situations, than chatting up a stranger in a bar.
Spiritwood Live It's ok to find a date on the internet. There are many different sites and not only Tinder. I met my wife online 13 years ago. For someone with autism its quite hard to meet someone in a bar. All the best!
Applied behavior analysis is abusive. Imagine if someone figured out all of your coping mechanisms everything that makes you happy and said that is not allowed. The way kids are trained is similar to the way they train dogs. And it only teaches how to cover Autistic behavior (which there's no harm in. There's a reason we flap our hands and say the same words and such. It looks weird but it lets me function) many Autistic adults who went through ABA feel like they are living a lie and can't fit in with either group
Alexandra Prescott are you Autistic? I'm not trying to say that "I'm Autistic and this is an Autistic thing so you can't say anything" I appreciate your response and the way you said it, however, it can be very difficult for those without Autism to understand the affect of being told stimming and other Autistic behaviors aren't allowed. It is much better to stim and avoid Meltdowns than have the meltdowns. Yes I look weird flapping my hands but I would rather that than have the meltdown
Alexandra Prescott but they take away the ability to self regulate without shame. Which is super important. It's not teaching you to not need these behaviors it's teaching to hide them. Like if someone punished their kids everytime they expressed a certain emotion. It wouldn't be okay. That emotion wasn't their choice. Even if the parent indirectly punished ("boys don't cry!") the kid will learn to bottle up feelings. It's counter productive and very harmful.
Alexandra Prescott (BTW the boys can't cry isn't something I agree with either it was just an example) teaching control of emotionals is different in neurodivergent and nuerotypical kids. Yes it's important to have some control over your emotions, but teaching kids that the natural way they express their emotions isn't okay is teaching them to bottle them up.
Having Aspergers is like running a Different OS on the PC of your mind, Normal people run Windows, but we with ASD's are running all the different flavours of Linux, we can do some tasks better than others and we all get labled under the same banner
I'm the parent of an autistic ten year-old boy. There are SO many things that I could ramble on about in praising your wonderful video. I won't. -Instead, I will simply extend the most heartfelt Thank You to you for posting it. Education, lucidity and facts are among the most important weapons we currently possess in combating, understanding and learning more about this awful impairment... and you just contributed immensely to this cause. Again THANK YOU so very much for this.
I just found out today that I also have anxiety disorder. nobody told me I just saw it on some paperwork about me. I am not surprised and I kind of guessed I might but I was never officially told.
Autism was actually first described in 1925 by Grunya Sukhareva, a Soviet Jewish woman. Also, you don't have to say "person with autism spectrum disorder" every time. It's okay to say "autistic"...really. and for "person without autism spectrum disorder", one can say "allistic" or "neurotypical". Furthermore, rather than supporting Autism Speaks, you can support an organization that is for autistic people by autistic people: the Autism Self Advocacy Network or the Autistic Women's Network. Nothing about us without us!
My brother has autism . And I am so proud of him .year after year he is doing great. They are like us ! They are people ! And there's a lot of people who doesn't accept them !! It isn't fair. Autistic people has to be accepted from all people . And I thank god for giving me an autistic brother because I learned a lot about them !!
the one where he stated autistic people are more likely to have older parents is a new fact for me I'm an autistic in my late teens and my dad is already in his 50s.
Awwww das so precious! My 2 and half year old is autistic and I just love him to pieces wouldn't change anything ant him!! He kisses the cat more than me tho! 🤔🤣 When I ask for a hug he understands and may run to me and let me hug him...he too funny, I dont mind his differences
some people tend to lump people with autism in with social justice warriors since a lot of them see it as trendy to self diagnose themselves with the condition to make themselves seem more special. hence the jab snowflake.
yea so have i. its a shame really. people on one side trying to pretend to have autism because they think its trendy and the other side making fun of those people who pretend to have autism but inadvertently also making fun of actual people with autism
Thanks I'm autistic and wasn't diagnosed till 17 years old and it was a reaction to a pill. It elevated my symptoms of autism. This video helped me thanks.
I have Autism, but it's a high functioning kind. It's known as "the best and worst kind to have", due to how highly aware of Everything we are. This includes the World and people around us, knowledge about our handicaps and especially *why* they are issues. This can make it feel very stressful for us, because our Brains never "shuts down", and it can be too much for us. Although I am glad that people are so open to accept us, I don't wanna associate with any autistic support Groups or anything like that. It reminds me too much that I have this (even though sometimes it can be a positive thing, due to our mindset) and I don't wanna be reminded that I'm autistic, more than I have to. Many times I can talk about it with no issues, but I don't wanna be constantly reminded of this burden.
Don't worry, dude. This Monika is just another edgy hipster trying to sound cool to all his dumbass friends, I also find it funny how he makes fun of you guys while also hiding behind an anime profile pic.
I have it, too, the high functioning one, and that's exactly how I feel about having it. I wasn't diagnosed 'till I was 14; my family knew I was different, but didn't know why I behaved the way I did until the diagnosis. Since then, I've made huge strides in social interaction; at first, I was kinda shy and didn't know how to meet new people or how to behave in social situations, but now I can handle most generic scenarios with ease, like ordering food in a restaurant, buying groceries/other things, sharing common interests, and introducing myself, for example. I've still yet to tackle more complex things, though, such as paying bills, driving, getting and keeping a relationship(date-wise), and keeping a job. I'm almost 30 now, and every day is always a challenge to some extent; I tend to, more often than not, act like I'm still a teenager and often get mistaken for an older one, since I look really young for my age. heheh... I will admit; sometimes, I wish I was neurotypical like some of the people I went to school with, but then again, if that happened, I'd probably lose some of my interests, so I'm fine with who I am. ;)
There is no high or low functioning, no mild or severe. It's just autism. Autism is a spectrum, not a grayscale. Spectrums are round. Meaning there is no ends, so when people say "high functioning and" they are just blatantly wrong. It's just autism.
I have ASD. was diagnosed in 1st grade however I didn't hear a word about it until about 3rd grade but wasn't told much detail about it for a while longer even then. "You are not normal." is a sentence I will never forget, especially not the way it was said with this mild frustration or irritation in the voice. it wasn't how I originally found out but it was an unnecessary reminder. I've been told I am very intelligent, perhaps even smarter than some of my teachers. I am 19 now btw.
I have a 19yr old daughter who has autism she's sn amazing young person she does get mixed up and confused about others with the same condition as her. She's very ambitious and has high hopes for the future she was showing signs early in school life and was given help and support. this has helped her and us a great deal as we know can communicate with her and now when she is troupled and when she is happy.
As an Autistic girl, I will say that I feel Autism is more than just a social issue condition; it affects how you think in many ways. It affects how you learn (although it most certainly does not mean you can’t learn, it just means that you might learn in a different way to neurotypicals, or that it may take you longer to learn something, or that it may take more repetition and also for things to be explained in certain ways), it also affects your spatial awareness, your awareness of other people, your motor control and can make you more prone to some other mental health issues, like anxiety, depression, etc. However, I must reiterate that Autism is not something “wrong with you” or something “the matter with you”; it just makes you different and all the more special!
one thing i heard, but dont know how true it is people who have autism have a much higher chance of being LGBT. i have autism and i am bisexual and transgender
I have Asperger's Syndrome and I hate the name. I don't care if the Austrians have a different pronunciation for it, it still sounds like a really bad pun. This is why I call it Hans Syndrome because at least it has Asperger's first name and it sounds a hell of a lot more dignified than the guy's last name. Thumbs up if you agree.
My stepson Nathan was diagnosed very early at age 1.5 yrs old. He is now 17. All of the facts presented in this video are accurate, however recent studies have produced evidence that Autism has been linked to the RNA strand, in particular the 22nd genome. Also when discussing learning skills or social development you forgot to mention a very important tool used by teachers, speech pathologists and therapists which is RDI or Relationship Development Intervention. This therapy goes hand in hand with ABA (applied behavior analysis) and has helped hundreds of thousands of Autistic persons around the world. We are very happy to see you advocating for better understanding of autism and autistic persons! Big fans of List 25 here, thank you and keep up the good work!
I have an autistic son and grandson..most of my sons are mildly autistic as am I...so this is a topic close to my own experience..thank you for being a good influence on the world in this regard
As someone with Autism, let me critique this video: -Vaccines can trigger the present genes to make Autism mire noticable -Early treatment can also come in the form of a supportive, loving family. This was all I needed prior to school -People call Autistics a liability in the business world -Girls do show the symptoms differently. I know this because I am a girl who was diagnosed late in fifth grade. -BONUS: Autism related mutations actually help prevent cancer. Also, we in the Autistic community LOATHE Autism Speaks. They do not speak for us. They want to kill us.
@princessbinas. I'm on the spectrum too. Good remarks from you. One from my side though: vaccines can not trigger genes. Actually nothing can except radioactivity or similar radiations. People are born with autism. What is very likely, and that is somewhat in the direction you suggest, is that some vaccinations given in youth, especially BMR (in Dutch, don't know the international abbreviation) will give rise to different behavior, and thus may also draw attention to someone being on the autistic spectrum.
The 'disorder' part really doesn't sit well with me. It implies that there is inherently something 'wrong' with autism and that those without it are better off when in actual fact it is merely the symptoms of a nervous system which processes information in a way that deviates from the norm. I think you would find that in many cases a lot of the social issues and anxiety an autistic person faces could come from the fact that they believe they are different from so called 'normal people' which leaves them feeling isolated and alienated.
i lot of people thought i ways different in 4th grade because i was friends with a boy with autism, but for me there is no difference their still humans, my brother also has autism but he has accomplished more things than me. I honestly think it’s awsome their unique 😊
Mike from List25 THANK YOU THANK YOU . I have a 10 yr old with this. It's really hard to explain to others what it is, how it works and why. You doing this video has made a fan outta me for life. You all there at this channel keep up the excellent work. You have nothing but total respect from me in your endeavor here.
I have no idea why people (at least around me) make FUN of them... Why? What the heck? It's absolutely not funny. It's in people's genes. I can't stand the fact that the word "artistic" is used as an insult. Terrible. This has to change. I'm sorry...
Thank you for doing this on autism. My son has autism and it was hard to teach him sarcasm. It took him forever to graduate high school but he did and now is a massage therapist. Amazing person.
I have had autism since getting diagnosed at 3. At that age, my mom was told I would never graduate from a mainstream high school or live a regular life. She got me on 3 speech therapists that same day. I graduated with a class of 1200 in 2015 right on time with everybody else.
+list25, thanks for making this video and helping to spread awareness to the Autism community. I have high-functioning Autism and my mom has worked with kids on the Autism spectrum since the 1990s. UA-cam really should've seen this coming!
I was diagnosed back in 1996 when I was 12. Took my parents 10 years to convince the psychologists something was up. These days though it's usually diagnosed before a kid is 10. Not always, but most of the time. Back in '96 I was 'early'. Netherlands, in case you wonder ;)
I do also, I'm from Sweden and we have our own language as you probably know. You learn english in 1st grade (Very basic english), But i had advanced skilled english as most have in 4-6th grade in 1st grade because i watched a lot of english TV and online server on Minecraft (Ikr Minecraft is a meme and dead now), and i have autism and has been proved by profesionalls have aprooved that.
Theres no such thing as high or low functioning, nor mild or severe. No one is more autistic than another person. These labels have shown to be extremely harmful to autistic people.
When my brother was about three years old he could talk and functioned fine, then he had a vaccine. After that he had to relearn how to talk, walk and even cry.
Uhm........... He said that people with autism will die. Well of course they will :P He should've said that they're more likely to die earlier than others.
Here's a good help for anyone else suffering with autism. Get a allergy test and avoid foods packed with sugar as candida makes us have blocked processing of brain. Also don't drink fluoride or use fluoride toothpaste it also has in studies of lowering everyone's IQ. Food can be a massive part of autism and will lower symptoms drastically well depending on environmental factors. Exercise is very good for autism too as it can help with coordination and confidence.
i dont have autisum but know someone who does. i like to make a request tho if i may id like to see a list 25 on bipolar as i suffer from that and seem to have to explain to a lot of people ehat it is please mike do a list most appropriate
So relatable. thank you list25 for this. the thing is I was diagnosed aged 13 but in hindsight it should have been a lot earlier... there was a boy in my class at primary with very severe autism and I don't think my parents understood that it wasn't always like that. also at my current school everyone uses autistic as an insult, every time they use it I'm so triggered, but I haven't told them yet
My mother has worked with autism, aspergers and adhd, bipolar disorder and so on. With kids. I have learned so much from her about it. I love it. I know stuff, and that makes me happy. I have aspergers, adhd, social anxiety and the doctors think I have borderline too. Just wanted to share:)
Autism I don't believe it exists at all I think some people think different then others but all the training help he says they need would help everyone at all ages education
I have aspergers and will not say I have autism spectrum disorder as as soon as people hear autism they think of stereotypes and I have such a mild case it's hard to notice unless I'm in a certain mood
My brother has autism and so every time it's Autism awareness day, we let him be him without certain restrictions for that day.I also know a lot more than I would have with him being there. Thanks for the video, it really helped!
I have Aspergers and I don't want to be cured. It helps me focus on subjects I'm interested in and also has helped me to think critically, leading to my expertise in animal equality movements.
as a side note.. I've got an IQ of 138-140, I've been tested at MUSC, I don't take online tests A lot of these facts are very true. My therapy is that when I was a child if you didn't have "the look" of someone with mental disorders, you were hyperactive.
Thank you for bringing awareness. My son has Autism Spectrum Disorder (level 3) and global developmental delay. We noticed it young and a 2.5 years he is in therapy and doing fairly well. I will always advocate for my son and for all Autistic and A.D.H.D children.
I have Autism so here I am reviewing these facts 25 - I do have difficulty not with talking but with the facts Mike read 24 - I don't even want no cure 22 - Oh Hell Naaawhhhh 21 - Yeah who the heck thought of this 20 - Not in my case. I was diagnosed when I was a toddler 19 - I have an older dad 18 - I do not have seizures 17 - I had Asbergers until it was renamed 16 - yeah true in my case 15 - I don't think I needed training 14 - I saw it. :) 13 - I went to a school and they let me wander around the classroom 10 - I am one of the best in my grade/ year 8 - Autism runs in my family 7 - Yeah Im a boy 5 - I don't need lifelong care, thankfully 3 - Yeah I didn't say my first word until I was 3 2 - :/ 1 - Yeah I do Anyway thanks List25 for showing awareness.
Hi all. Like many of you I have autism. I have been vaccinated over the course of my life. I wasn't given my first vaccination until I was 4 years old so I was already capable of speech and interacting with other children when I was given my first vaccine. Before my mother could walk me out of the clinic I slumped over and started to shiver. I was treated for shock. Ever since that day I have had autism. I have friends and interact with people in my life but im still not great at understanding people, when people are joking or aren't being honest with me. So I hope you will understand if I told you being told vaccines don't cause autism it equally as irritating to me as being told they do is for you.
Thank you for this. Many people don't understand that people with Autism Spectrum Disorder have a range of symptoms and ASD is categorized from mild to severe.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for informing people about autism . There are so many myths and misconceptions that it's nice to hear clear and accurate information. Thanks again.
Best list yet... made me finally go from viewer to subscriber. While always entertained I found this the one to make me see also the educational side. Great job.

im fine with the video i have autism and it makes me feel happy that there are people that care about it

I didn't find it offensive.
People with Autism are like shiny Pokemon: They might be different but they are super awesome! :)
TurboLibra14 the StardustBlader thank you
TurboLibra14 the StardustBlader if only i could catch a shiny ; (
TurboLibra14 the StardustBlader this is the best comment I have ever seen
Michele Nieves don't reply to comments like that, they just want attention. Report them .
KiwiJuice why would i want attention from people that i dont know at all and are irrelevant at least to me

I thought Autism Speaks was focused on eugenics?
Olivia Kirkland Yes thank you for bringing this up. They have done and are doing awful things that in no way help individuals with autism.
Anthony The Boss what does that have to do with anything? This is a serious topic that you shouldn't make light of by acting like a perv
Olivia Kirkland stfu ur white
Anthony The Boss yeah I am so? It has nothing to do with anything
"More likely to die" Erm, doesn't everybody have a 100% chance of dying someday?
Technically yes but it depends on how lucky you get with the diceroll ^^
SleepyDruid Yeah, he meant we are more likely to die young but it was a bad video to make that mistake on considering how many autistics will be watching out of curiosity and will feel an irristable urge to point such a tiny mistake out (including myself, you can relax, SJW lynchmob).
Matthew Fyson yes but you look salty
Elijah Bailey I know, I was joking
LOL, Tell me why I have not had my seizure yet.
PS: I have been exposed to flashing lights all throughout my life.
NOTE: This comment is a joke, idiot.
I'm proud to have Autism, it just makes me more unique in my life, personality, and way I do the things I love.
Glad to see someone who is proud to have something who makes them unique instead of distracting their gift. That the attitude.
Same!
*_-Jojo Ella-_* Indeed!
Good for you,Eric.Welcome to the club.
Eric Ramirez Gaming 101 I'm with you mate
my 7yr old daughter has high functioning autism and ADHD. My daughter teaches me new things everyday. My daughter never fails to amaze me, shes a true gift and I feel very lucky to have her. She's so bright, creative and totally focused on whatever she finds interesting. It's amazing to watch her soak up information.
my beautiful son has Autism. he's helped me grow up so much. I beyond thankful to be his momma
he's an amazing kid
Jessi VanderMey wow! Such a nice genuine person on the internet!
And you're an amazing mother :)
if you check out my page, you can see his announcement the day we found out his super power
everyday he teaches me something new, he's helped me see the world in a totally different way
Just wait until he gets older.
Better be prepared for a storm of information.
I do suffer from ASD (Autism) with Learning Difficulties. But I try my best to forget about it and just carry on with my life.
Clementine Frontier good on you.
Yes.
I am not very smart.
me too
I too have both.
same here.
makes me comfortable knowing im not alone
AUTISM SUCKS ASS
GuardianAngelOO7 I have mild autism and I live in Australia too! #weareautisticaustraliansandweareproud
You are a gift and so is my son who has autism
As an autistic person, I can say that this list is spot on.
DrHaydentheFunny
Agreed
Who else has Autism Spectrum Disorder? :)
I do.
All aboard the autism train 🚞
got high functioning, do I still get a ticket on the train?
Of course you do 🙌 🚞
TurboLibra14 the StardustBlader me and my two brothers do
TurboLibra14 the StardustBlader I do to the first point is so me but I would not trade it fir the world I find you see everything differently and it give me the gift of music
My disorder makes life a little harder but also more fun at times
I truly believe we have learned far more from autistic people than they have ever learned from us .
...?
the puzzle piece is kind of a rude symbol to use since in itself it Implies that autistic people are "missing a piece" but I know you weren't trying to be rude 😥
it also implies that we are Puzzles that need to be "figured out" which i personally as someone with an ASC find insulting
Thats not the complete meaning. We have really no idea what autism really is, we know a PEICE of the puzzle.
My son has pdd how are they generally when their older
The main reason autism speaks considered so bad, autism speaks does not have people with autism in their organization. So if they don’t have physical ties To autism Then how can they speak for autism if they don’t even know what they’re speaking about?
As someone with ASD, I must say, THANK YOU
being diagnosed with autism myself, i actually feel really good watching this video. there are way too many people that are either misinformed or simply blinded by stereotypes.
My mother knew I had it but stopped my treatment when I was little and got mad at me for showing symptoms growing up. All my life I knew something was different but when I asked it was blown off. I got diagnosed and found old medical records that proved she knew.
I have ADHD and autism ... I'm special
Ashley Carruthers no you're not
:(
We're all special in our own way ;)
Ashley Carruthers your not alone
Ashley Carruthers Asperger's and anxiety... my life sucks
I’m sorry for offending anyone, I didn’t mean too, I’m autistic myself and I try my very best to word things correctly but sometimes I can’t...
My son wasn't diagnosed until he was 13 and that time cost us dearly . He is 19 years old and graduates from high school May 21st , so proud of him !
Thank you! So glad I got my 3 year old daughter diagnosed as soon as we noticed the signs! I will support and love her and give her the best so she can live life to the fullest! Thank you again 😊
You forgot one thing. Autistic people can have families of their own. I am an aspie. I have two daughters and a male fiancé.
Evil Snail 🐌
Yes I look weird flapping my hands but I would rather that than have the meltdown
i know im living a lie, i know more truth that most, but id be seen to be crazy if i did tell you.
I went to a piece of fuck Elementary school, in THE USA no less! ABA was strictly enforced there.
Having Aspergers is like running a Different OS on the PC of your mind, Normal people run Windows, but we with ASD's are running all the different flavours of Linux, we can do some tasks better than others and we all get labled under the same banner
@Raccoonus Maximus: Very good comparison and explanation!
SAME
my step brother has autism, nobody seems to get that he is just a person. he is super smart and sweet.
I'm autistic
Me too, mate.
Nipun Sharma you're not alond.
me too
Same.
Thanks list 25 for helping raise public awareness about autism. my son is on the spectrum and he is very special me.
My mother taught me how to hug. Most people regret her decision to do so. NOW HUG ME MEOW!!! =^.^=
I have autism 💕 yay
Theo Bell special little snowflake
티모 xd huh
some people tend to lump people with autism in with social justice warriors since a lot of them see it as trendy to self diagnose themselves with the condition to make themselves seem more special. hence the jab snowflake.
Dan strett well I legally have autism and have been diagnosed at a hospital
yea so have i. its a shame really. people on one side trying to pretend to have autism because they think its trendy and the other side making fun of those people who pretend to have autism but inadvertently also making fun of actual people with autism
I have autism and I love that others are educating themselves about autism and other disorders.
Thanks I'm autistic and wasn't diagnosed till 17 years old and it was a reaction to a pill. It elevated my symptoms of autism. This video helped me thanks.
I'm autistic and I relate to none of them. Not even the last one!
KIll myself? What are you, twelve? Why would you say such a moronic statement?
ASD is same as autsim right?
I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and I turn 14 in a week
Well happy birthday then.
Remember one thing. Autism is a gift.
autism is not a gift it’s something you have and can use it but others can’t
one thing i heard, but dont know how true it is people who have autism have a much higher chance of being LGBT. i have autism and i am bisexual and transgender
Xil J what's the a+?
Angela Gonzalez it makes sense
I have autism and I'm none
As someone with Autism, let me critique this video:
-Vaccines can trigger the present genes to make Autism mire noticable
-Early treatment can also come in the form of a supportive, loving family. This was all I needed prior to school
-People call Autistics a liability in the business world
-Girls do show the symptoms differently.
Ok, medically what are you supposed to call it then?
Right on!!👏🏼 well said!!
Learning about Autism is very awesome I love this video!!!👍😃
i lot of people thought i ways different in 4th grade because i was friends with a boy with autism, but for me there is no difference their still humans, my brother also has autism but he has accomplished more things than me.
For 5 I don't think it's more common in boys but not as recognized in girls and girls might test higher on the spectrum and go under the radar longer.
I hate when people refer to ASD as a single diagnosis
yeah it’s a “spectrum” however it may not be one it’s done for diagnosing
Thank you for doing this on autism. My son has autism and it was hard to teach him sarcasm. It took him forever to graduate high school but he did and now is a massage therapist. Amazing person.
I have had autism since getting diagnosed at 3. At that age, my mom was told I would never graduate from a mainstream high school or live a regular life. She got me on 3 speech therapists that same day. I graduated with a class of 1200 in 2015 right on time with everybody else.
as a mother of 3 autistic kids, thank you for this!
+list25, thanks for making this video and helping to spread awareness to the Autism community. I have high-functioning Autism and my mom has worked with kids on the Autism spectrum since the 1990s. UA-cam really should've seen this coming!
People with autism are very smart my son is very smart and inteligent and I love him to the end of the wold
not all though the ones with low functioning do have below intelligence coming from a person with high functioning autism
My nephew was diagnosed with autism high on the spectrum at 4 years old. Today he is a Firefighter! Thanks for the video, Good job!
I dissaprove of the asperger's name change. It encourages stereotyping, and creates a lable that makes life more difficult for aspys
Agreed.
I agree. Aspies should keep our own category.
Agreed. #wewantourownname
I have high functioning autism
Bradley Hite
Why does this reek of b.s? If this really happen, I'm sorry.
My grandson was normal until MMR vaccination
Vaccines DON'T cause Autism.
Convenient timing is not causation.
As an autistic girl, I feel so lucky to have been diagnosed as a child and to have gotten the help I got at school! 😮💨
My Baby boy has Autism Spectrum Disorder and he is brilliant, amazing artist, an A student.. He's perfect.
Everyone and everything will die.
Thats uplifting.
Artistic Jay bird its acurate if ignoring tardigrades, think they are close to being death resistan
Uhm...........
He said that people with autism will die. Well of course they will :P
He should've said that they're more likely to die earlier than others.
Commander Ibex they aren't unless they act stupidly in dangerous situations
tardigrades still die
Here's a good help for anyone else suffering with autism. Get a allergy test and avoid foods packed with sugar as candida makes us have blocked processing of brain. Also don't drink fluoride or use fluoride toothpaste it also has in studies of lowering everyone's IQ. Food can be a massive part of autism and will lower symptoms drastically well depending on environmental factors. Exercise is very good for autism too as it can help with coordination and confidence.
BroToPro what do you mean by the food lowering it?
BroToPro
Here in America, we have to drink fluoride
+John Keller In Soviet Russia, fluoride drinks you.
Thank you, I myself have Autism, good does not lower I.Q. or have any effect on an autistic person's mind.
i dont have autisum but know someone who does. i like to make a request tho if i may id like to see a list 25 on bipolar as i suffer from that and seem to have to explain to a lot of people ehat it is please mike do a list most appropriate
I'm high functioning, and number 1 simultaneously made me smile and water my eyes up.
"More likely to die" wtf because everyone doesn't die right?
he meant more likly to die at any given time dumbass i hate it when stupid fucks like you comment
I have a autism 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Your grammar shows that.
Mike. Did a hitman try to strangle you with wire?
Nope. It's psoriasis. ~Mike
It's psoriasis the annoying condition that's a pain to get rid of from personal experience
Thank you so much for your support! I shared this video with people who needed this information.
I'm autism
Autism I don't believe it exists at all I think some people think different then others but all the training help he says they need would help everyone at all ages education
I have aspergers and will not say I have autism spectrum disorder as as soon as people hear autism they think of stereotypes and I have such a mild case it's hard to notice unless I'm in a certain mood
Finally a video with real correct information on autism. I myself am a high functioning autistic, and its a good thing in my opinion.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO as someone with Autism I really hate all the misconspetions
I was diagnosed with Aspergers at 38. Things in my life made so much more sense.
as a side note.. I've got an IQ of 138-140, I've been tested at MUSC, I don't take online tests
A lot of these facts are very true.

My dad is a psychiatrist, and i found an autism book in his bookshelf and now i’m here
Thank you, thank you, thank you for informing people about autism . There are so many myths and misconceptions that it's nice to hear clear and accurate information. Thanks again.
Best list yet... made me finally go from viewer to subscriber. While always entertained I found this the one to make me see also the educational side. Great job.
