I am 100% jealous. Way to go team! And huge thanks to Captain Ed for inviting Sam (and thereby the rest of us) along. You guys are all living the dream and a huge inspiration. And one final shout out to the intrepid little bird who visited. You are an awesome little feathered creature...
I imagine that you love seeing Sam’s uploads. like every Mom, I bet you look to see that he’s warm & safe, eating well & in the company of nice folks…Typically Nobel
Even on a friends boat we see boat projects completed Sam Holmes Sailing style which is awesome. Great opportunity and a special shout out to the captain of the Lia for inviting him along. That Oyster 48 sure is a pretty boat. Another great update and thanks for sharing!
30 years ago I sailed on the MV Norsel from Tromso to Svalbad return. A great experience. Camped rough for 18 days. My diary tells me all. Greeting from Australia 🇦🇺

Thank you so much Sam for another amazing video. While I was watching this one, I realized I do not have to be jealous of you. I would simply have to imitate you: be bold and ACT!!! Then nothing would stop us then. As long as health is stable. I wish you to be healthy and happy for many, many years! (And I wish to myself to be bold enough to quit everything and sail the world away!)
Sam...that was very special..Could see how much it meant to you also...what a brilliant boat that is, and a lifestyle that will never be lived by many....
I’m not gonna lie man. I first clicked on one of your videos because I saw the thumbnail and thought it was Mr. Beast.😂 But I’ve been watching every video since. Keep up the good work!
I spent 10 years living and working in Canada's western Arctic. This video brought back many memories of those days, tho your experiences were so very different to mine. Enjoy the sun!!
LIKE posted at 5:15 - great sound effects! Hope it tasted as good as it sounded. There's a fun Irish Trad tune we play sometimes: Beare Island, for what that's worth. Thanks for sharing these adventures - awesome scenery. 9:43 - WOW - talk about being on top of the world - and there you are. Are you allowed to tie up to the pole of the North when you see it?
Love the video, Sam! Definitely nice to see you change it up a bit and see some scenery with friends. They look like great people! Hope to meet you out on the water someday, came pretty close when you were in Florida. Much love, keep doing your thing!
Sam, if you pause the video at 9:44, that would be a really neat profile picture for your UA-cam channel. If you make it to Florida anytime soon I'll grab ya some dinner & some beers, keep up the great content!
That invitation to sail the northern latitudes was rare and amazing not to mention its worth 💰 …. great video… clean and crisp like the air and waters. Cheers 🥂 🇨🇦
What a gorgeous boat! Apparently Oyster only build 19 Lightwave 48's and their new vessels run well into the millions of dollars. They build some luxury shit.
I happily crew on other boats, content that someone else is paying the bills and worrying about the weather. It is much more relaxing than managing your own boat and worrying about crew comfort. It almost feels like a holiday for me. I find you always learn something from other skippers, both what works and what doesn't.
Great video. Any reason why no life vests were worn, especially when the boat was underway and you went to the front of the boat? Not very safe and ou can fall easily on those choppy waters.
Awesome man, you've gained some stories and experiences that most nowadays will never have. I'd love to travel to svalbard one day, never even thought of sailing like you did, awesome man!
Tromsø is a dream destination for me, hopefully one day, could even be next year, especially after seeing this. Summer skiing and a great Skyline hill running race. Svalbard, hmm, maybe a bit too far.
Sam, when you left the dock, did you note the sailboat Bushpoint? That is a Boreal 55 and one Sweet Ass boat. Definitely built for high latitudes. A Voyage for Mad Men is a great read. Enjoy

Fantastic, Son! Thank you, Lia, for letting Sam come along!
Thank you for making him his freeze dried foods. They look amazing. I'm a little jealous
Hi Ann, you’ve raised one incredible son! You must be an incredible mom! Thank you so much for bringing Sam into this world 🗺.
I imagine that you love seeing Sam’s uploads. like every Mom, I bet you look to see that he’s warm & safe, eating well & in the company of nice folks…Typically Nobel
Fun Sailing Video to Watch
God bless
that boat is the bomb!!!!
Beautiful people, beautiful boat and a beautiful short tour on video… Just can’t beat it… Thank you all for sharing with the world…
Sam has shown a great amount of restraint as he resisted the urge to drill holes in this boat.
agreed. he did get some Gorilla Taping accomplished & sniffed out an issue under sail, so all seems like a characteristic SHS passage
lol - this comment didnt age well. *see today's video.
🤣
Like motorcycle enthusiasts, meeting someone who relates to boat life and sharing the knowledge is symbiotic.

Nice one Sam! Loved that video. Thanks for the shout out. See you in a few minutes for dinner onboard Lia!!!!! We are bringing cake! 😃😃😃

Gorgeous boat and the views are priceless. Great share!

What a gorgeous boat! Apparently Oyster only build 19 Lightwave 48's and their new vessels run well into the millions of dollars. They build some luxury shit.
Lia is hull number 15 of those 19 😃
Thanks Sam!!! You're the best. Can't wait for the next one!
Looking forward to more of this trip. How incredible
Nice video! Thanks Sam!
One of your better installments Sam, curious, is it difficult to be on a voyage as crew, with so many single voyaging miles under the keel?
I happily crew on other boats, content that someone else is paying the bills and worrying about the weather. It is much more relaxing than managing your own boat and worrying about crew comfort. It almost feels like a holiday for me. I find you always learn something from other skippers, both what works and what doesn't.
What an opportunity!
"King of the world" vibes with that 3D camera shot! Looks like a great trip!
Very nice video as usual.Looking forward to next installment :)
That sailing on a small water planet shot was awesome
I thought the same thing. 360 cams are awesome.
Awesome!!! Thanks Sam!! ................⛵⛵⛵
Thanks, another great trip with you and your friends.
Loved the "Little Sailing Price" shot. Great vid.
Great video. Any reason why no life vests were worn, especially when the boat was underway and you went to the front of the boat? Not very safe and ou can fall easily on those choppy waters.

Adventure Now and Sam Holmes. 2 of my favourite sailing channels. Win!!
Tromsø is a dream destination for me, hopefully one day, could even be next year, especially after seeing this. Summer skiing and a great Skyline hill running race. Svalbard, hmm, maybe a bit too far.

I read Voyage for Madmen last month - great book!
Having colon removed in two weeks at 83 years old. Any advice? Best sailing channel ever.
Good luck Bill
