I feel like you could almost watch this as a substitute for the Red Ribbon and Tien Shenhan arcs. You’d just have to accept Chiaotzu and Tien left their kingdom behind, and the only other discrepancies you’d have is the episode where Goku accepts Chichi’s proposal and then all the way into the Cell arc where Goku attacking Red Ribbon base is important. I dunno, still not the biggest fan of the Red Ribbon arc in the anime(It feels like it goes on forever), and I feel like this movie does a good job mixing my favorite things about it with the Tien arc.
