We chose another route. Our 38J came with the ole nevercold 1200 four door. A Samsung fiT the cabinet perfectly width wise and only had to lower the bottom 7 inches. We now have 18 cubic feet instead of 12. Love it. Amp draw is VERY close to this unit you have. Of course everyone’s circumstances are different. That’s what makes this so darn much fun!!!
I bought one of these about a month ago and so far it is good, I use it as a fridge only at 34 degrees and it runs on my trucks 12v outlet for 8 hours before the protection kicks in on the low setting. I have a small power station coming so I stop using my vehicle battery. I hope it holds out for at least a couple years.
I have this exact 42 quart Joy T. Not obvious is it's wider and roomier than pictures suggest. With it's basket, two whole milk gallons will fit with side and top room a plenty. I tied a string loop to the grill so the cord won't kink at the plug. In hotter weather, the Joy is suitable as a plain old fridge as it works hard when heat spikes up. I'm using nothing but eco mode so the compressor will break in better. Don't forget to clean the condenser radiator when it clogs with fuzz.
Have had an ARB 50 Quart Fridge/Frezzer for several years. Works great on 12V cigarette plugged into Solar Charger or stand-alone AGM battery in back seat of pickup or better yet when vehicle is running insert the fridge/freezer 110 plug into 110 vehicle Dash plug. The external temperature gages placed inside the unit are MORE accurate temperature reading than Fridge display. Monitor temp setting for sweet spot as things will freeze and crack open such as pop-cans, etc...

Great video! We have a 52 quarts model 12v/120v compressor fridge/freezer. It is Bluetooth and has an app that allows me to control everything from my phone or iPad. Definitely a big plus when you have the room for one. We run ours with our Bluetti and a folding solar panel.
Nice Fridge! Will the 42 qt be tall enough to fit a 2 liter 7up pop bottle standing up? I see that they have an insulated kevlar foil cover with carrying straps for these that has pockets or holders for cups sewn in on the sides for easy transport. The larger one seems a little too high for the back of a car, but good for home or RV.
I use one in a outside storage in my motor home. 55 LT. It took me three different brands to find one that works well...But I'm happy with it. Did your reservations get canceled in Mesa TT?
@@LyfUninterrupted I've seen RV's leaving but I also saw a big Motor home being parked today. So I don't know what's going on. I don't know where they think everyone that full times is going to go. It's going to get pretty warm there (QZ) soon. I'm heading north when I leave at the end of the month. Take Care!
Great questions. I didn’t include that information because the use case will vary greatly. The amp draw was about .7 AC or 7.73 DC. I didn’t calculate the total amp hour usage since our coach has a whole-house inverter, so I couldn’t isolate this unit from the entire system. The unit was able to maintain 38 degrees with no difficulty.
I bought it yesterday for $312 and it was here today. My cooler temp stuck on one temp i have been trying to change. The directions are horrible. So tomorrow i will likely put it in big box and have amazon sadly pick up. Love this comment "Tip: best to use in car" OK I bought to use wearever. When directions are so awful do i trust the maker here? So frustrated.
Sorry to hear you’re having difficulty with the instructions. We found them easy enough to understand. Albeit they are clearly translated from Chinese to English. We’ve Been using the cooler outside, inside and in our Jeep for several months with no problems whatsoever.

Good to hear Jesse! We’re still using ours. Its held up well too.

Nice! I’m sure the manufacturer of this unit will be incorporating that feature as well.
Thanks for the review Brian. Great video! Great especially with smaller fridge or if main fridge goes out. 👍🏼
We just pulled into an RV park for a couple of weeks to get out of the heat. The fridge is stock with beer!
Lyf Uninterrupted Make sure that fridge has a lock if kept outdoors. Can’t let the beer disappear!! 👍🏼🍺🤪

Nice little electric cooler. I'm sure you'll put that to good use. Cheers. ~ Norm & Kim
Extra room for beer! LOL! Stay well and be safe.
@@LyfUninterrupted perfect! Hope it's full when our paths cross ;)

Nice job Brian :)
👍. Thanks!
Pretty cool product, glad they had you do this. Nice testing. I like the removable rack. Where is it made?
Thanks! Like a large portion of consumer products, it is manufactured in China. Not sure about the origin of individual components though.
Great video! Please let us know how the product performs for you. Thank you!
Will do! Thanks for watching!

Yes, it is large enough for 2L bottles. The cover is definitely a nice addition. Thanks for watching!
Now that it’s been a year and a half or more, is this still working well for you?
Hi Nicole! We re-homed it a few months ago, but it was working great for us up to that point.
I use one in a outside storage in my motor home. 55 LT. It took me three different brands to find one that works well...But I'm happy with it. Did your reservations get canceled in Mesa TT?
Hey Tim! Yes, our reservations were cancelled so we decide to stay in Quartzsite. Our closest neighbors are about 1/2 mile away!

How many amp draw and how far down did it bring your batteries. How cold did it get after you filled it with food ??

Forgot to mention it was using about 83 watts of power.
How did it hold up?
Excellent! It Served well as extra space for drinks.
