Haha...agreed. I think old school true Star Wars fans will judge this on the actual series and nor presuming it'll be bad because it's cool to hate things you supposedly love
Not into it so far, gotta see the first 2 episodes first. Maybe!
another woke female empowerment movie lik ethe marvels hahhahahhaa
After the first time I saw it I didn't feel that this was a lot of location shooting. Even commented on that in cinepals reaction, that I felt it gave me more of the Obi Wan vibes (when that show was trying to be serious) and that there would be a lot of volume used in this as well. But after seeing it a second time I not sure. It might be less volume work than I first thought... I'm holding out hope for real locations/sets. And also a mix of a serious tone and going all in on the kung fu Jedi action. To really set this apart from their other content. I love the gritty realism and slow paced drama of Andor, for me the best star wars content ever created. And I would love for this to be inspired by that not by trying to do the same thing but by making their own bold choices in telling their story in a clear style of its own.
Looking forward to see if that will be the case 😊
Hey Kristian,I had a realization and wanted to know your thoughts. Darth Bane creates the Rule of two and forces the Sith into hiding. If the Sith have been quiet for 1000+ years, who tells Yoda that there's a rule of two🤔?
I’m skeptical because there have been more not good Star Wars shows than good Star Wars shows
There's been a good start wars show? I've heard only that diego luna one was close to decent
@@Chronz it was really good. Probably the best one with Mando season one just as good if not better. But the really short episodes or terrible writing just ruined the other shows

So were Jedi when the Empire took over.

Hell yeah 👍
I’m sure star wars fans won’t complain about anything in this trailer and will be very respectful lol.
Oh yeah for sure. It's the least controversial fandom on the planet.
@@espenstorothey're not controversial, just bitterly disappointed with Disneys less than stellar batting average.
The first thing we ever heard about this project, with no details, was that its a woman led show. I knew then and there that this show stood no chance when the first trailers started to roll out
Wrong. WRONG.
Yea we love 1 episode every 1 week boo
If Disney has taught me anything it’s that they are great at making Star Wars TRAILERS.
Did we see the same trailer?? 😂😂
Busted my ass for years being a Star Wars fan
The trailer is slightly different to what I saw at Celebration Europe. The last clip wasn’t in it, it looks better now.
You gotta have Plageuis. It's his and Tenebrous' time to shine.
This will not happen
@@Swamp_rattler probably not. Sad
When you put that level of expectation on a project to say it "HAS" to have this or that, when it doesn't, you'll blame it on bad storytelling. They don't HAVE to do anything, and just because you want it doesn't mean it fails if they don't do it. You might not like it, but that doesn't make it bad.
@Bad_Wolf_Media It's not expectation. It's just hope. Hope that it's not bad. Lowering the bar just so I don't get upset is not how I want to enjoy something.
I would say at least have to reference, or lead into Tenebrous. Really hope so. Plagueis can be down the road...or lead into.
I bet my guts that last scene is the first time this particular group of Jedi ever encountered a Sith and that's why they get completely overwhelmed.
Maybe this even is the first time Jedi and Sith meet. Or the Jedi Order did destroy all knowledge about the Sith after their first war, in hopes the galaxy may forget about them and that's why not many Jedi know those exist. That's the two scenarios I could think of.

This trailer really did nothing for me, but not in a bad way. I was curious about this series and after watching the trailer, I’m not any more or less curious than I was before. I’m just ready to see it and judge for myself.
By the way... Wikipedia says her name is Indara, Jedi Master Indara. 😉 (Carrie-Ann M.'s character.)
You just have to wait and see with Disney + Star Wars shows.
Andor and Bad Batch have been absolutely doing it for me, heres to hoping we can add this one up there with them.
I agree, Bad batch is great, and it’s improved every season. The first was alright and I didn’t love Sid in the second, but overall, it’s been the 3rd best show of the Disney era for me, next to Andor and Tales of the Jedi (and I guess Clone Wars season 7 if we’re counting that as Disney era)
I hope they can finally make a decent show, much less a good one
I'm calling it right now, that girl with a knife gets redemption type of arc like Reeva
I hope not.

Reva was never redeemed tho. She looks like a fool throughout

Someone wake me up when the Andor Season 2 trailer debuts.
Funny, Andor Season one put me to sleep. People love it, maybe it’s just me? I found it slow moving and boring. I could do without another season.

It’s refreshing to Jedi in their prime, as a prequel era kid. I’ve missed this fast paced choreography
It has the shang chi choreographers team doing the fights. I dunno why more people aren't talking about that. That's the main thing I'm forward too
Too bad it’s woke garbage
But where is that fast pace in the trailer?
@@marchayburn2617Ahh, so you've already seen it, then? Or is it just because you get scared when you see women and people of color on your screen?
The Choreography alone makes me only want to watch the fight scenes
Looks aight to me. I’m hoping for connections to the Darth Bane and Darth Plagueis books.
I think The Acolyte has a great chance of success because of the mystery. We don't know any of these characters, it's the High Republic and it can be an empty canvas for us all. We won't have the burden of anyone bringing in their constant complaints about them destroying a classic character. We get to learn about new characters and a fresh story. The trailer did what trailers are supposed to do. Tease. Not give too much away. I'm ready to dive into The Acolyte series. Let's go!
exactly what they should have been doing this whole time imo
You severely underestimate Star Wars fans’ ability to absolutely lose their minds.
Doesn't Carrie Anne Moss give you a Satele Shan vibe throughout the whole trailer??
was satele or bastila the one who got together with revan? would be awesome if it was a show about revan lol. but one can only wish :)
@@xyr3sBastilla. Satele is a descendant of revan and Bastilla further down the line.
Hey Kristian, enjoyed the reaction like I always do. I do have a comment though. I was under the impression this was merely a teaser. I thought a longer trailer would be released closer to the release date. This was just to get us a little familiar with the characters, story and tone. I will stay medium regardless but I personally am looking forward to your next reaction to the actual trailer that will be released with a little more content for you to analyze and break down for us.
I loved the look of it! Im pretty hype now
Carrie-Anne Moss looked perfect as a Jedi. Trailer wasn't great but it did enough to keep me interested in watching the show
I don't know if I am getting too old for the stories they are trying to tell, but this doesn't excite me in any way. And I am starting to truly LOATHE the volume. Hopefully, the actual show proves me wrong because I want nothing more than for this to be great!
I think they shot a fair bit in
Scotland and England.
Same here. It's giving me the same vibes as the Obi-Wan show.
@@MartyMcK I hope you’re right. It didn’t look like it from this trailer
They didn’t use the volume (or if they did it was minimal and more sets/location were used)
first few shots I thought the same, urgh more volume nonsense with ridiculous chase scenes but it looks like at least some locations have been used, time will tell, I'm so over The Volume, they overused it and now it sticks out like a sore thumb.
its not Apes on Horses any more its Wookiees with Lightsabers. My Chewbacca toy from 2000 is finally realized.
Maybe this show is a lot older than we think. The jedi archives do mention a sith acolyte that tried to return to the light. The Sith's apprentice, a female, ends up killing him and all who knew of him to keep the sith in the shadows. Of course, this is all legacy stuff.
Seeing The High Republic in live action is so exciting! Carrie Ann-Moss looks somehow even more badass as a Jedi than as Trinity!
Let's go!! Trinity as a jedi sold me!!
We will find out why they didn't add the discovery of the sith to the archives, which makes the show even more mysterious
I think it looks good. I like the tone
Based on the tone alone? Im in. Cant wait to see more from The Acolyte!
For a teaser that ws epic I can't wait until they drop the full trailer down the line! I am excited for this!
As a black man I'm glad there was not a lot of white people in there that would have been triggering for me.
Man I thought it was run of the mill, the usual tropes and predictable story arch! I also heard the episodes are going to be 30-35 minutes long. As soon as I heard that.... not interested! It's offensive to story telling the way they piece together episodes and leave you frustrated every time. My predictions are this show will have some great moments and look pretty, but will have weak choreography, weak drama and poor character development like all their productions bar Andor. All they care about these days is pushing modern societal agendas on their shows and it's killing them all.
@@rubenfrankish I respect your opinion and sorry felt that way about it. Me personally the run time doesn't bother me but that's just me. The only me star wars disney plus things I didn't think was great was book if of Boba fett the rest my family and I have enjoyed. But that's the thing is each star wars movie or show will hit everyone differently and I for one am tired of the original trilogy era and am gad we are exploring a different time period and getting away from that stuff. Star wars fans are very opinionated and are entitled to their opinions but you can't take away from those that are enjoying what they are putting out. Does some of the new stuff have its flaws sure they do but so does the OG stuff. I keep hearing people say that it doesn't feel like star wars or its garbage but no one ever says or explains why it's garbage or what is star wars supposed to feel like. It feels like everyone wants their individual fan fiction and when it doesn't happen rhey complain. I again an find flaws in everything in any IP and there are going to be things I don't enjoy and that's ok there will be something else that I will since there is such a variety. Again that's just my opinion and like I said I respect yours on the matter and I hope the show is good and I hope that you will find enjoyment in it and if it turns out you dont enjoy it and i do or visa versa that's ok too.

3:40... I think we are to assume that the girl who said "fire" is a younger version of the person with the knife and then later with the lightsaber. So perhaps because she used to be a Jedi, they wouldn't consider her a Sith. Just a dark side force user. I don't know if the Jedi are as arrogant as they were in the Prequels, but it could be that they don't want to admit that there is a Sith out there.
I love what the woman said about power: "This is about power and who is allowed to use it". Interestingly, Malgus (in the Old Republic trailer) said basically the same thing. I like that parallel there.
Isn't that the trailer with the Twi'Lek if so probably the same situation, she wasn't deemed strong enough so they kicked her out or something now she seeks the power (force) they barred her from using and to kill jedi
Yeah they're probably pretty arrogant still, it's only 100 years before Phantom Menace. They're still licking the boots of the republic on Coruscant.
Too add what you said about who's allowed to use the power, let's also bring up someone in canon, the Grand Inquisitor, who fell to the dark side because he wasn't allowed to study whatever the Jedi had in the protected archives at the temple.
@@SharkMako Yeah, that sounds right. To note, though, Malgus said that the Jedi AND the Sith did this. That’s also a storyline that keeps coming back. We heard Sidious say it a lot during prequel era content (regarding the Jedi) and then in the comics, we saw both the Grand Inquisitor and Vader go through the temple, looking for knowledge that they were barred from consuming.
The showrunner has inferred that the show will plant the seeds of what we see in the prequels. So their arrogance should be on full display

That being said, I am curious how they work around the line from Phantom Menace that the Sith had been 'extinct for a millennium'. Obviously they had not been, but the Jedi believed that they had...

@@TheKristianHarloffI appreciate your content and your kindness Kristian!
I would actually like to see Carrie-Anne Moss's character come across the girl and train her in the dark side after seeing her potential. The same way Count Dooku got tired of the Republic and secretly became Sith. I think it would give her a more prolonged role. I would have liked to see her stumble across Darth Bane's Holocron and look for an apprentice. That would introduce Darth Bane to this canon.
