I took the footage that was shown at the Developer Direct back on the 23rd of January 2025, and through 50 hours of painstaking editing, was able to remove all commentary from the presentation, leaving only the cutscenes, gameplay, music and sound effects. What started as an experiment to remove the speech with machine learning tools, evolved into a crazy audio restoration adventure with countless hours in iZotope RX, MVSEP & VEGAS Pro.

Y'know I haven't been really hyped for many games recently but Dark ages has me literally counting the days till I can get my grubby hands on it
Yeah this game is going to feel like shooting dopamine straight into my brain
same - I understand we're getting a bunch of new Nintendo stuff, possibly GTA, possibly HL3, and so many other games, but I'm really loving the look and feel of this. It's Classic DOOM for the modern age.

For the people complaining that the game looks too easy, you can change the difficulty and speed of the game using sliders.
For the people complaining that this game requires RTX on graphics card to even run, you can change the game in the Steam shopping cart.
@@Megaddd07 i see a point in complaining about having obligatory a ray tricing card, because it lower the entry point for people to play the game for something that is not that big of the deal in the grand scheme of the visuals for many people, and it can be achived not quite but similar results by using other techniques.

Good stuff, well done! I've been trying to do some audio correction stuff like this recently as well. I tried to clean up some of the Portal 1 post-mortem talk for a recent video, as well as some music. Turns out after waiting over a decade for Justice to release clean versions of their first 2 live albums, enough time has passed that technology allows one to simply remove the crowd noises and reverb oneself. Pretty good stuff anyway, not super super interested in the new Doom but I may look forward to it anyway.
Machine Learning stem separation tools are not powerful or robust enough to do the job by itself. It takes countless hours of manual adjustments to get it to where it is here.

To be completely honest, the only thing that caught me by complete surprise is how seriously id is taking their cutscenes this time around, even adding black bars to them, ensuring it's a pure cinematic and not a part of the gameplay like in Eternal or 2016. Wether they added that for the presentation or part of the final product this is very cool to me

Why are so many people complaining about the game? From what I’ve gathered the footage was captured on Hurt Me Plenty going by the menu footage Hugo describes. I don’t understand why this game is getting so much hate, from someone that loved Eternal this game looks completely different sure but Eternal was completely different from 2016, why is there so much hate for what looks like DOOM I AND II basically being remade into a modern triple AAA game with dragons with Gatling guns and giant mechs with absurdly massive chain guns? The game looks metal AF…
Everyone forgets that every Trailer is slowed down so we can actually see what we're looking at.

@@yeezez It was about the doom: TDA press event mainly about the Q&A, which he found out couldn't be published onto UA-cam a couple mins after uploading so deleted it
I think the hitstop effect is way too aggressive and common, especially if your melee swings are supposed to be used several times per enemy
("hitstop" is what we call "a second or two of bullet time after something gets hit")

There is a lot of gameplay that the sound effects call attention to, This is much easier to get a feel for the game. Also I will always laugh at the ancient keycard.

I'm not quite sure yet, but I feel like this looks like the first true "next generation" Doom entry since Doom 3, for my own weird reasons.
2016 was a reboot, and Eternal was more of a follow-up to 2016. This one looks like a new totally new vision with new mechanics that a modded port of Doom 1 or 2 might not be able to pull off
(but to be fair, they've pushed the old .WAD game tech so far, well beyond anything I could have imagined, and keep to do so)

No one knows except Finishing Move, the people who composed it. I doubt they’d be willing/able to share information on it until May 15th, when the soundtrack releases. It’s pretty awesome though huh?

pretty easy with modern software, you can make songs "instrumental" with a click, you can remove the drums, the guitar, it's absolutely stunning. It really works.
There was an intro section in this video before Tyler cut it out due to feedback. He said he processed and edited the audio with the techniques used for the restoration of HL2 E3's presentation.

This is from the file that is hosted on the press portal of Bethesda, so aside from getting the raw gameplay itself, which I'm not sure anyone did, this is the best that I can possibly do.

The first step was an AI program to remove the speech from the original video, however, that software is not *fantastic*, and it needs a lot of hand editing, EQing, spectral folding, etc etc.

Dark Ages fidelity-wise looks so similar to Eternal that it could've had the same requirements, but tech companies have to sell those new PC components somehow, right?
Well it is a current gen game that uses all the features of the consoles and gpus of today as a baseline. Worse performance than Eternal might not be unoptimized just targeting higher specs. I could be wrong but I think that I trust ID that it will be optimized for the visuals we are getting.

What the fuck are you talking about? Minimum specs require a GPU from 3 generations ago. No shit it's going to be harder to run than Eternal, which came out 5 years ago. Do you expect them to never improve their engine for modern specs? Are they supposed to always hold back so that people with shitty GPUs can play too?
Kind of wish the spiked mace was a sword instead, there's so many blunt crusher weapons with the exception of the shield saw. The feeling of slicing demons in Eternal was just too good but there's still months to go and I am beyond hyped

There's too much visual clutter for my taste. All these damage indicators, shield parry/block effects totally obscure vision and I find them too distracting. I hope they can be turned off or made more subtle.

Is this version of DOOM going to be going back to it's 2016 era roots? I really did not like/enjoy the weird dance DOOM ETERNAL made me go through. Having to use very specific weapons only in very specific moments and all, it started to feel like a Dance-Dance-Revolution approach to the action. I really enjoy classic DOOM as well as 2016 though. Where it is up to ME to decide what works best, and when.

They really should do these promo videos with the game played using keyboard+mouse so the game can be seen in its best form. So much of the flow that DOOM is known for is lost when using a controller.

@@mikeb3172i actually question your sanity if you compare fighting with 2 players with different move set and 20 or 40 other playable characters to the game where you have one hero with 2 or 3 special moves at best AND removed glory kills, jumping/dashing etc without frame data, dozens of moves and combos, and so much more than that. Like any shooter has punching or using w knife. Ok there's parry but there's little to no actual parry in fighting games. You're actually nuts if one freacking parry makes you think the game became a fighting game. Name me at least one fighting game where you have to shoot dozens of mobs please. Oh, wait you can't because that's the other genre called beat em up that includes Streets of Rage or Battletoads. Or please name me at least one fighting game or heck even beat em up with dragons you can fly on and the game becomes Star Fox instead. No? Nothing?
