For my sweat day I did the sweat suit/walk for 45 mins to a hour in 100 degree Las Vegas weather (feel like 125 in the sweat suit) 3 times and drove back home in the sweat suit with my car windows rolled up which takes about 10 mins all three times. I’m fighting Saturday and my weigh ins are tomorrow morning and I’m at weight. Easiest and best weight cut I’ve ever done. I went from 198 to 176 in 5 days. And it all fell off on the 4th day. Usually I’m dying when I cut weight. This time I could even drink bits of water through the day. I followed you to tee. Thanks so much for your help. If you’re reading this during COVID-19 quarantines here’s your chance to lose that water weight you’ve been asking for. Good luck guys and THANK you to the guy who made the video.
Alrighty 4 I gained about 70% of the weight back. Remember, you mainly lose water weight. But, if you reduce your carbs it’ll help keep the weight off longer and eventually you’ll be losing fat and water at the same time.
Best weight cut video I’ve seen to date. And I’ve watched a lot! My kid does combat sports and he has same day weight ins. There are tournaments where he needs to make weight for up to 5 days straight. However, his average cut is around 5lbs so it’s doable. Good info, bro.
I started this at 185 a week out from weigh ins and was pretty scared. Ive done weight cuts before but they were all 5-7lbs but with the information in the video helped me get down from 185-171 in a week. Takes lots of discipline and will. I was 2lbs above weight after my sauna session so i hopped on a gym bike for 45 minutes and lost the rest. Thank you so much!
@@britt_M04 a shit ton of will and determination. One week out toss on the extra layers and go cycling for 45 minutes each day, do your normal workout and cut the sugars, sodium and carbs. 7 to 4 days out 2 gallons of water each day. On 3 days out 1.5 gallons, 2 days out keep the intake relatively low and cut water 24 hours out. Hit the sauna big time the day before and day of if needed. I did 4 25 minute sessions. SIP conservatively so you don't pass out. Would not recommend unless you're competing on the national/international level and desperately need to lose the weight
Thanks for this video. Was able to get from 175 lbs to 164.0 lbs from Sunday to Friday. Glad to know this worked and it was a good “experiment” as I’d never done a water cut before.
Big thank you to this man! I got recommended to do a water cut I was 63.4 KG on Sunday, had weigh in the following Friday. Listened to everything he said and hit the scales 57.7 kg , gone back up to 61kg the same day 👊🏻👊🏻
Amazing advise on water cutting! I followed this video/ebook for my first time ever water cutting, woke up on my sauna day weighing 202, hit the sauna for 2 hours of sweating and woke up the next morning of weigh in at 193. Thank you so much!
Doing this process to pass my last weigh in before shipping for bmt, and this works so good. Way better than the method I used last time where you taper your water down throughout the week. I started at 150-151 and currently at 145.2 (145 is what I need to weigh in at) still have about 5 hrs before my weigh In so going to take another hot bath. The hot baths are actually my favorite now bc it felt effortless. I hate sitting in saunas. But I don’t feel dead. I still don’t really feel dehydrated either. This process felt effortless. UPDATE: I ended at 144 and passed my weigh in. this method works amazing and was definitely an easy cut!! thanks bromley!
Did this once before with a strongman competitor and we used the sauna suits and heater in the car turned up on the drive to FL from GA... it was so gross, but the water we dropped as we peeled off the suits was about 8-12 lbs each.

Alexander Bromley Hi, just wanted to know is it okay if I actually drink a bit over than 1 gallon of water on the first day? Or does it have to be precise and exactly what you have down on the board? Thanks!
I lost 15 pounds doing this but I only done the last 3days because that's when I found this video and won my weight loss competition because of it. I was 3rd place for 9 weeks then done this on my last few days. So happy you shared this. Thankyou :)
I would love it if you made one for a 2 hour weigh ins or if you can show me the link for it. I realize its just a different math and less extreme but still entertaining to watch. God bless
I used this method for my strongman comp to get to a lower weight class (80kg for NAS instead of 181 for USS) and not only was this the easiest cut I’ve ever done, but holy hell I don’t even understand how it worked so well. I lost 9lbs overnight after the 3 gallon day on Wednesday. I don’t even understand how I pissed and sweated that out. Which left me with half of the sauna cut I was expecting… 10/10 recommend. Thank you Bromley!
Honestly thought this was a load of sh** Did a 6 week weight loss challenge, ate average for 5 weeks, week 6 followed this and ended up winning the challenge hahaha This guy is the man!! 104.8kgs to 96.7kgs in 5 days 💪🏽
I have a competition March 16 as a 48kg powerlifter. Ive prepped for this since last sunday. I was 111.8lbs just last night (Wednesday 11:30pm) at 6 liters water; woke up this morning 107.1lbs (Thursday 6:30am) that's still without sauna! I need to lose 1.4 more pounds!! I can't wait for Friday weigh in tomorrow! After sauna, I should be below 105.7lbs by tomorrow -Friday weigh in at 9am. This is my first time doing this!! I just can't wait for RE-FEED FEAST. Thank you Alexander Bromley!
Big thanks Alex! I did this a month ago and went from 228 on Sunday night to 207 weight-in that friday afternoon. Very happy but I think I messed up the re-feed because I only got my energy back after the comp was done. I ate lots of carbs and drank two litres of coconut water but now that I'm watching again I see there was probably a lack of salt (although I made a stop to A&W). This time I'm going to add stuff to what I'd normally eat and see the difference. Was 222 last night, 210 this morning, still another 12 to go! Does anyone else get bad nausea or headaches? I recently learned that excess THC stored in your fat can lead to uncontrollable nausea "Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome" and I'm currently weaning myself off it for health, social, and financial reasons but still wonder if that's affecting me since I experienced this during my last cut as well. Thoughts?
Gonna give this a go to make weight for Marine Corps boot camp! I sit between 203-205 but I weighed in at 208 yesterday after some high sodium foods the day before and need to dip under 201 to ship out on Monday. It might feel rough but I'll do whatever it takes to get out there!!
When i was married. i was up to 326 lbs. I wanted to lose weight. So i started fasting, and drinking lots of water ( i was only eating a tuna lunchable, and fruit.) and some days not eating at all. I bought a sauna suit and started walking a few miles a day.. after a few weeks, i crashed. i had zero energy.. i had to revamp my fast.. So i started eating full meals once or twice a week.. but still eating very light, and not at all on the other days.. I lost over 150 lbs in 4 months.. I have since gotten off my diet. and a year later i gained 40 lbs back.. Today, im trying to start back.. and trying to discover what i did wrong, and how i can do this faster... Any advice would be appreciated. This video is very educational. but seems to be short term.. how can i do this, and maintain?
You're absolutely right. This is NOT for sustainable fat loss! It is 100% for weight class athletes the WEEK OF their meet, more specifically those who have a 24 hour weigh in so they can gain the weight right back. Doing this for more than a day will result in health consequences. For you, first understand that sweating by itself doesn't do a damn thing to lose body fat. You lose fat through physical exertion. Throw away the sauna suit, the walks by itself are what gets the job done. Also, prolonged fasting is not recommended for long term fat loss because, as you found out the hard way, it isn't sustainable. I've gone through similar fat loss phases where I've gone manic and practiced very extreme methods for short periods of time; it almost always ends up in a rebound back the other way. You have to have a plan that fits with your life and obligations. Step 1: find some type of regular physical activity you love doing. Not just exercise (though it can be). You have to genuinely enjoy and look forward to it. I love lifting, which is why I do it weekly without fail. Basketball, soccer, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, cycling, pilates, zumba, crossfit.... it doesn't matter. Just find it and do it. Step 2: Stay away from shit you know you aren't supposed to eat. No soda or sugary foods, nothing fried or soaked in butter or oil, avoid bread, tortillas, and pasta like they are the plague. Most of your meals should be made up of some mix of egg whites, lean meat, white rice, sweet potatoes, and veggies. Step 3: make your diet bulletproof by starting to pay attention to portions and calories. If you can abide by the list of foods I gave you, that's 90% of it. Having an understanding of macronutrients and keeping track of your numbers each day is what makes dieting foolproof. It takes longer to get a hold on, which is why I put it last, but start working on it asap! If you follow these steps, your physique will improve, your energy and focus will improve, and you will have a healthy sustainable lifestyle with out the rollercoaster gaining and losing of weight.
@@creatingpeacenlove surprisingly, no loose skin.. lot of stretch marks though. when you let yourself get that big. its hard as hell to get it off.. i had to get pissed off and force myself to walk, never allowed myself to set down, unless i walked a few miles.

I'm an amateur boxer. I cut weight with the same way you explained with the sauna suit for losing 7lbs. It's easy it works well. watching a professional telling that make me more confident. Thanks
This brings back memories from cutting weight when I was a kid. Sitting in the sauna with a gameboy but hours, I used to really enjoy it. We used to take a mild natural laxative as well but I can't for the life of me remember what it was.
Great video. Was doing a fat off competition at work and this help loads. I won last time around with this method and am doing it again this year. I'm actually at a sauna right now. My weigh in is tomorrow and this is a proven method. Thanks a lot!
This helped me from 132lbs to 120lbs, and I will tell you, this was the worst feeling I have ever experienced. I always do the walking/light activity method and it losses me 2-3 pounds every time. The hardest for me is the hot bath, I get dizzy when I get out of tub and it weakens me even more when I cover my self up for more sweat. And for the sauna, I don't have access to it so I just lock up my self in a car and sweat inside with a sauna suit. Every time I do each of these methods over and over, I have to rest for an hour or so to start sweating again, and I f'kin hate the feeling. Will I do it again? Yes, cuz im determined.
Great video! Advice for lightweight guys over fifty that are competing. Injury prevention, cycling training, two contest prep, etc. Anything to keep old guys like me competing as long as possible.
Hey! I’m usually in the 67.5kgs/148.5lbs weight class and was sitting around 70.5kgs/155lbs and did this exact protocol and weighed in at 66.6kgs/146.5lbs for my 24 hour weigh ins, which is rounded up at 5% of my original starting weight. I only did a 45 minute session in the sauna on sweat day, I had already woken up at 68.5kgs/150.7lbs on sweat day but you can definitely drop more than 5% if you spend more time sweating, I just didn’t see a benefit of dropping more because I was already within my weight class after that session and able to sip on like half a cup of water. Definitely great stuff 😁 thank you
@@javieralmeyda3358 Yeah man I did this to get under 185 and it definitely got me down there real quick man but as he says even us fighters should be careful of doing running or cycling to get the last sweat off unless you REALLY need to. It's gonna gas you out real quick if you have a 5 min x3 round fight
Great video! This protocol is nearly identical to that used by elite fighters. Although a lot of MMA fighters and boxers will wear a sauna suit and run, this is actually ill advised. Regardless of your conditioning and cardiovascular capacity, the passive methods of sweating, like the hot bath, are ideal to avoid cramping and being able to perform at the highest level. More fighters would do well to follow this advice.
People put Vaseline on stomach and wrap it to trap heat in and keep it like that for at least 10 hours and they lose alot of weight and tighten skin. I am trying it for the entire part of my body for week.
I've found that in smaller tubs where it's hard to fully submerge, it can be helpful to get a towel to cover and keeping the heat trapped in really helps!
Just finished doing this, started on Tuesday weighing in at 97.4kgs (from Australia we weigh in kilos not pounds) and finishing this morning on Sunday weighing in at 90.1kgs. From my experience I thought the water load was the hard part as I’m the type that doesn’t drink a lot of water very often but soon found out on the 5th day consuming no water and fasting for the whole day was a straight mental game especially when being in the sauna that day. Felt very depleted all I was thinking about was weighing in the next morning and finally getting to that re-feed stage. Will most likely reply back to this comment in regards to putting back on the weight. Cheers for this
i wanna loose atleast 24 lbs before may 31. i have 52 days. i wish to loose 24-40 lbs, i know i probably cant do 40 lbs, but i'm going to try my hardest! ill keep y'all updated. my goal is 30 lbs
Today is Friday. I have a weigh in on Wednesday just for a friendly weight loss challenge with some friends. I’m 8 lbs away from what my target weight should be. I’m going to try this and hopefully I’ll also look shredded. I know I’ll gain it back but it’s more for a laugh and to win the prize.
@@ImPeac Yes it worked and I won. I was 197 lbs on the Friday, 201 lbs on the Tuesday, 194 lbs Wednesday morning, then by Wednesday evening I was 188lbs. All water so it all came back within a couple days. I’m trying to lose 2 lbs per week and be 185 lbs by the middle of May. I just wanted to try the water cut to see if it would work. The last day was tough. Not drinking very much and sweating it all out. I was happy after I weighed in and could drink a cold glass of water and a beer.
Thank you for this GREAT video! This will be my 3rd time cutting weight for an MMA fight. Question... WHY DID YOU NOT LOSE WATER WEIGHT IN THE STEAM ROOM? Does the extra water vapor in the steam room cause more evaporative cooling on the skin so you actually sweat less than in a dry steam room? Trying to think beyond "Bro Science" methods commonly accepted just because they're done often. Like, why the hell is albolene makeup remover used so frequently in the boxing world of weight cutting?
There were two things I did that 'seemed' to set me back; one was taking cold showers in between rounds of sweating to cool off, the other was sitting in the steam room. I took a wild guess that the skin can absorb some water when you are exceptionally dehydrated and the pores are open from sweating; admittedly, I have absolutely no idea if that's true. At this point, I'm mainly avoiding it out of superstition. Albolene comes down to the petrolatum. I have no idea why they don't just use regular petroleum jelly. It's 2 bucks for a jar as opposed to 25+ for makeup products or Sweet Sweat. That's one trick that I took from MMA message boards that works well, but the 'wintergreen alcohol/epsom salt' cocktail for the hot baths was bunk.
@@AlexanderBromley If we look at it logically, if we can absorb water, then how would hot baths still be so effective? I did some research and learned that the skin can absorb water just in the superficial top layer of cells, not into the bloodstream (aka into sweat glands), so that wouldn't cause much of a difference in terms of unwanted rehydration. I have heard repeatedly, even from my coach, to avoid steam rooms, but can't figure out why. Yeah, sweet sweat is basically glorified/rebranded Vaseline LOL.. but it smells SO MUCH BETTER.. so I'm treating myself this round LOL Going with the GUCCI p.jelly. It helps traps heat to increase body temp, so that makes sense. The thermal imaging on the package gives a great visual. It would just need to be wiped off or melted for a sweat portion.. because how would sweat from a gland be able to push water out with a layer of p.jelly clogging it? Hahaha... that's it. I'm just going to do a dehydration dance and pray to the dehydration gods.
Did it, went from 229 to 209, never going to do it again. But after all i won my bet and went from 276 to 209 in less than a year. Now after feasting mostly fluid calories, recovery drinks, milk, yoghurt etc. my weight got back to 219 after night. I peed my weight from 229 to 220. I started to do sauna at 1pm while i was 220 and had one small walk with few layers of clothing and after it i did sauna again and i was ready about 9 pm at 209 weight. Mentally AND physically tough stuff.. I was so exhausted that i promised never going in to betting anymore than i can drop my weight by normal dieting and exercise. And truly this is NOT a clever way to treat your body for any light reasons to drop weight..
I do this often and it’s torture mentally. My quick way is water loading for 2-3 days only eating 1 tuna pouch with 2 crumbled crackers on the first day. After I’m done peeing all water I take one bottle of magnesium citrate to pull all water from me I go to sauna the following day for 10-15 at a time to sweat out the rest until I’m at least at my desired weight or a 1/4 of a pound over before weigh in the next day and just sleep with a sweater to drop the rest. For comfort I’ll chew up an ice cube and spit out or gargle ice cold water. It’s tough but gets me to the goal.
I’m a girl wrestler weighing at 164 lbs but I need to get to 135 lbs in 2 months. It seems super easy but I’m just making sure I don’t get fatigued since it’s super easy for me to see dots and feel like I’m gonna fall
hey man I watched your video so many times followed step by step and it didn't work for me but I found it very helpful maybe i missed something i just wanted to say thanks it was really informative!
Hell yeah. I’m going to try this starting tmrw. I have to weigh in a month from now late April. I’m going to try this now and if it works have piece of mind for the next month and focus on just training for my fight. I will keep updates on this post.
Thanks a lot for this, Alex. Weighed in 109.7 kg today (down from 115 kg "street" weight) w/ nothing more than the water cut and 20 minutes on the dreadmill in my Cerberus neoprene shorts and sweats to shed the final pound this morning before weigh-in.
Hey Brother Thank You so much for your advice and guidance here I started this on sunday just like you said cuz i had my weigh in on Friday Did everything accordingly I was almost 80 when i started and today i ended up at 73.400 Kg Thanks buddy 🙏
As for the food and water intake, I started the water sunday and low carb monday, started no salt and LOW FIBER tuesday. I drank 2.5-3g a day and was pissing like crazy but once you stop you dry right up. by friday morning I had dropped from 160 to 148 based off of just water retention and lowing the amount of food waste by eliminating fiber.
About to try this protocol for my meet next weekend. Currently 216-217 and looking to compete at 198. A few years back I followed a similar protocol and dropped form 196 Monday to 181 weigh in and competed Saturday at 194. This time will be a little more.
Spitting skittles is a great auxillary method. It pulls off a few extra pounds, and just as importantly keeps your mouth wet so that you don't have that dry mouth tempting you to drink water. I would have also given at least a cursory mention to Lasix, Metolazone, and IV rehydration. The former two are accessible to anyone with google, and while not everyone has access to the latter, it is far far superior to trying to drink the weight back.
Doing “The Biggest Loser” challenge at work. Weight ins are on Friday 11/1. I’ve lost 36 pounds so far. We’ve had three months of time to lose weight. Gonna try this the finally week just to make sure I get the last push in to win. Be back with the results.
You can’t lose this type of weight for a 2hr weigh in. The most I’ve been able to get off for a 2hr weigh in was roughly 6% of my bodyweight (about 5kg to compete @83 in USAPL).
Wow, very cool, good to know if you want to cut quick for an event .I only had to cut weight once when I was 12 to stay in a weight class football leauge. Missed it by 3 lbs, my coach was pissed got bumped up to the next weight class.

How did u do this ??
@@britt_M04 a shit ton of will and determination. One week out toss on the extra layers and go cycling for 45 minutes each day, do your normal workout and cut the sugars, sodium and carbs. 7 to 4 days out 2 gallons of water each day. On 3 days out 1.5 gallons, 2 days out keep the intake relatively low and cut water 24 hours out. Hit the sauna big time the day before and day of if needed. I did 4 25 minute sessions. SIP conservatively so you don't pass out. Would not recommend unless you're competing on the national/international level and desperately need to lose the weight
did your strength in the meet take a hit?
Thanks for this video. Was able to get from 175 lbs to 164.0 lbs from Sunday to Friday. Glad to know this worked and it was a good “experiment” as I’d never done a water cut before.

I did, but since it was the week of comp, the workouts were pretty light and I had no troubles completing them@@Ladybug35467
Big thank you to this man! I got recommended to do a water cut I was 63.4 KG on Sunday, had weigh in the following Friday. Listened to everything he said and hit the scales 57.7 kg , gone back up to 61kg the same day 👊🏻👊🏻
I’m currently 67kg and need to make 63 by Friday do you suggest training to lose weight on the days before the last day
This has given me hope!! I’m 59.7 and need to be u57 😅

Next time I'm in Cail I'm going to his gym
Did this once before with a strongman competitor and we used the sauna suits and heater in the car turned up on the drive to FL from GA... it was so gross, but the water we dropped as we peeled off the suits was about 8-12 lbs each.

Alexander Bromley Hi, just wanted to know is it okay if I actually drink a bit over than 1 gallon of water on the first day? Or does it have to be precise and exactly what you have down on the board? Thanks!

Thoughts?
Can I do this if I just want to lose weight? Or will my weight go back up?

This brings back memories from cutting weight when I was a kid. Sitting in the sauna with a gameboy but hours, I used to really enjoy it. We used to take a mild natural laxative as well but I can't for the life of me remember what it was.

I only need to cut about 10 pounds for a same day weigh in kickboxing fight, and your methods helped me every time!
Am I supposed to workout the first few days while water loading? Or do I wait until the last day to sweat it all out?

I’ve done this so many times to meet weight. It’s a solid plan if you do it right. I rewatch every time I need to do a cut.
Love to see this is still valid man. Thanks bro❤.
Definitely great stuff 😁 thank you
I’m a MMA fighter. And I needed to cut a bit. So thank you for this.
Did it work? I have a fight in 2 months
Finally a no bs video straight to the point, very rare these days
