You really can't appreciate how awesome the FDNY Rescue Trucks are until you are near it or it passes you.Truck is a monster
The term "Box" stands for a Street LOCATION ... as in this case Box 0617 is located at 23rd. St. & 9th. Ave. ... It comes from the old days when there was a Fire Alarm Box on each corner where a person pulled the red hook to notify the Fire Dept of an emergency ...
Damn FDNY has some sick looking rigs. Their rescues are nice
Yeah but they have a new rescue now
I love the videos that actually have the tones in them.
Me too
This is probably my favorite video of rescue 1 so far. Great catch!
Thanks for the heads up!! I figured it was prolly taken off prior to going to the shop for repairs. I heard there had been issues in the past with different stations using other Electromechanical Sirens and the shops removing them. Which is odd to me as the FDNY used the Federal 66 for decades!
Still to this date, the best video you got Dave!!
2 siren at the same time only one word needed: woooooooooooooooooooow !!!
man I wish I could go on a ride along with rescue 1, but keep safe guys and thank you
great catch of our brothers!
Thanks ....
Or even the Architecturally beautiful Rescue 3 of the Bronx, housed with Collapse Rescue 3 and RAC 3. Theres even an EMS station located right next door
Love it!!! Awesome!
Thanks ....
Great catch! 🚒🚨
"Outstanding" indeed!
Thanks

Fantastic
Thanks ....
awesome video buddy thumbs up
Nice Great work keep 👍🏼🚒
awsome!!!!
I love this truck, very different from those used in Europe.
Yes ... This is the NEW Ferrara rig placed in service in May I believe
I think the Pierce was being used as a spare by Rescue 5 but I'm not sure ...
Go FDNY awesome!
Thanks
It keeps up with the latest safety standards. In TN my towns chief said its chevrons or a blue led on the rear of the truck to help keep the truck visable at night.
Yea, check out Rescue 5 of Staten Island. Theres Engine 160, TAC 2 and Battalion 8 with a few others.
Thank You for your comments ... :)
NICE VIDEO
Hey Im a old friend and I found your channel again I love your videos ps: why I was gone was because my computer had a virus so I lost everything. Keep up the good work :o). Keep up the good work
Did not mean to say keep up the good work two times but whatever lol
Jack Modahl That's okay thanks for the comments glad you found me ... :o)
As of today the Super Chief is BACK on the rig ...
Yes ...
Welcome aboard ... I've been at it 38 Years, and have loved every second ... Thanks for the comments ... Don't forget to follow me on twitter ... :)
Merci pour vos commentaires ...
Nice
The city replaces the Rescues every 5 years so they were all due for replacement ... The Pierce was being used by Rescue 5 because they had an accident, and their new Ferrara was in to be repaired ... The Pierce did suffer it's fair share of breakdowns ... IMO more than the Ferrara, but I'm biased, and it's new so time will tell ... Thanks my friend ... :)
I KNOW the feeling on the code ... It's a REAL pain in the tush, BUT i deal with it ... Thanks for the comments, and watch away ... :)
the blue makes the lights more noticeable to motorists
Raw!
Thought I was going to hear that Beautiful Super Chief siren.. And all I got was the electric Q.. Dang! Sweet Rescue though!!
I think they are the standard horn but with just a different diaphragm. If you look at the video on my front channel page of E1 & L24 responding to Box 0742 you can hear the difference between the horns .. L24 which was new HAD the Grover Studder Tones ... They don't any longer tho ... 4 Truck also has the Studder Tones ...
I was in new york for super storm sandy in and worked with some of the guys with the FDNY, but never thought to ask, why the blue lights on everything in NYC, even the cops have them too.
It's interesting to me that the OIC asked for an extra 1&1 (the very first thing you hear in the video) with the transmission of the 10-75, but the dispatcher didn't announce All Hands going to work on the box. If you're asking for additional units, then that means you're using everyone on scene by default. I've actually heard a chief advise he was using 3&1 the rest FAST for a fire in a building, and ask for an extra engine & truck and dispatch advised he couldn't get those unless he was using all hands already.
The last radio transmission by the Battalion (not heard due to siren & horns) was for the All Hands and this was transmitted right after I stopped recording.
I can't seem to find any pictures of Ladder 3's New Ferrara. I've only seen the 2001 Seagrave. Same Goes for Laddder 8 and their '01 Seagrave. Where can I look to find Pictures of the new trucks. Didn't Ladder 87 Get a new Seagrave?
What does the chauffeur on rescue 1 normally do on the scene of a call?
So since you were there, can you please tell me if they get tones then get a print out of the call and the housewatch reads off the call to the station or does the dispatcher speak directly to each station?
If you ask me, they should put some blue lights on the front as well..
Nice vid
NashvilleFireDept1 Thank You ....

Niceee!
Thank You ....
Don't know, but they've been doing so for over a year now ...
Thank you for clearing that up for me. Oh so rescue 5 was using it until they got their new Ferrara? I was going to say the Pierce was only in service from 2007-2012. Did it break down a lot?
RIP Super Chief.
Yes ... They have a REAL Q now ....
the rescue 1 truck is one of my favorite fire trucks and I want to go to New York maybe even check out FDNY and NYPD and ESU and EMS / EMT
Michael Kavallierakis, that's on my bucket list. Love FDNY.
Thanks for the comment!
Yep ... And since the return from repairs due to the accident the Super Chief has been REMOVED from the rig ... Not sure if they R1 or the shops took it off ...
If you mean photo, then check my Flickr Page ... I have MANY hi-res shots of this Rescue in it's different stages ...
ohhh maaaann i feel weird.....i think im in love! hahahaa
I think we're all running Blue on the rear across NYS now. Fire and EMS.
Oh wow! A Super Chief Siren!
Yes at the time ... It is now gone as they have a REAL Federal Q as well as their EQ2B
Too bad. B&M sirens are rare these days (the company is still in business though).. but then.. a Q is a Q!
Its from a new law in the New York State code. Some agency did a study on the effects of emergency lights. They said that blue was the most effective.
nice
Thanks ...
Geez....you buffs and the sirens
Geez unfortunately they are a needed thing ... Especially in the big city :)
@@FDNY8231 you buffs need to get laid
@@stevegiu4232 We'd just be buffs with smiles on our faces for a different reason. :o)
1:44 massive horn use
Oh yeah and I love it ....
They only use them as Secondary lights. Red and White are still the only primary lights.
That's what I call " Super Heavy Duty Rescue."
Amen ...
Hehe ... The "Super Chief" ...
While the Dispatcher can speak to the stations, it will normally occur the way you said ...
What camera do you use?
0:27 the FDNY way of an Oh Shit
Check my Flickr Page ...I have photo's of Ladder 3, and I sure I have Ladder 8 too ... I know I have BOTH on video .. Ladder 3 at Box 0617 and Ladder 8 ... at another box ...
what`s the name of the second siren ? master chief or what ?
To comment on How your a Volunteer Firefighter I just Started with Alert Fire Company #1 at the township building In West Manchester TWP York County Co. 24.
Used to be but not any more ...
do you know MY Favorite Fire truck is FDNY - Rescue 1
FDNY8231
I do now :o)
Capt. Morris' favorite Super Chief. I guess that's one way around the ban on Q's haha
1 Min turnout quite good for a company in Manhattan :D
Cops have not "always" had blue in New York. It has only been law that police could run rear facing blue in the past few years...and then ammended to allow fire and ems to follow suit. New York State has previously only permitted blue lights for volunteer fire fighters. NYS GTSC - Vehicle & Traffic Law - Section 375 (41) covers this.
Thank you for all your help fdny rescue 1 eq2b siren Manuel fire fighters heroes I appreciate that people can clap for you turn off the fire I can be a fire fighter one day
Thank You for your great comments, and someday I hope you will be a firefighter.
@@FDNY8231 you guys can text me or message me or email me or call me please you can message me in the middle of the night
@@jole3799 Thanks but don't make it a practice of messaging folks in the middle of the night ;o)
How can I get to your Flickr Page? Can I use the photos for other things Like Desktop Backrounds for My laptop and Stuff?
Yes you can use them on your equipment ... They just can't be resold or reproduced ... www.flickr.com/photos/29774019@N03/
I thought it was just the Q2B which was banned? Since the B&M only use a third of the power........ Or are all (real) mechanical sirens prohibited?
He would normally after placement of the rig assist the rest of the crew in their duties ...
Is that a Super Chief Siren on the bumper of this rig?
Yes sir ....
what does responding to a box mean?
The term "Box" stands for a Street LOCATION ... as in this case Box 0617 is located at 23rd. St. & 9th. Ave. ... It comes from the old days when there was a Fire Alarm Box on each corner. To dumb it down it is the location of the emergency where they are responding to.
Where's the pierce?
