FANTASTIC advice Dez, it’s so easy to forget and drift back into some of these old habits- I agree with all this tips. Let’s look younger not older !! ❤❤❤
Love your videos. Another tip I’d like to tell you about because it makes a huge difference to me. I spray a little urban decay setting spray on my foundation brush before I apply the foundation. That way the make up looks more like skin and never looks cakey. The brush is then damp and I buff the foundation into the skin for at least a full minute. Almost until the foundation looks as if you’re not wearing any. If I need to reapply makeup before going out , I spray the brush again with the setting spray before applying the foundation.
Dez, your hair style is very youthful. Love it. Great tips. Now I do have to say, on me, brown liner makes me look tired. So I stick to black and make it a very thin line. Another good liner is Cassis by Chanel, which can make green eyes pop. It is a sort of brownish purple. Ta, Dez!
Great tips Dez and your “do” look is gorgeous! I’m excited to see your review on the Laura Geller Balance n’ Glow. I’ve never tried that one! Have a good one my beautiful friend!❤️
Hi Dez! I think I have had to make so many changes in makeup application over the last couple of years. I have been using a lighter brow color also. I used to go darker, but my hair used to be darker. Now I just don’t want people looking at my eyebrows very closely at all. I do like to use eyeliner but I definitely don’t use black, medium or light colors instead. This was such a great video! I am bad at not taking time to curl my lashes. I live life in a rush 😊
Thanks so much Mona! Getting my lashes lifted at my local salon makes a huge difference. It doesn't seem to be a thing in the rest of the world as it is here - changed my life 😉❤️
Thank you so much Francesca! Can I say what a beautiful name you have - as a child I wanted to be a ballerina and was going to change my name to Francesca ❤️
Hi Dez great video !!! I’ve given up powder all together and just smooth anything I need to as the day goes on under my eyes . My mom’s 88 and has skin like a baby and still gets compliments on it . Shes never put any powder on her face 😂😂😂😂😂 By the way as I’m sure you know all the Westman Atelier products feed the skin and are excellent quality. Everything lasts so long and you need so little to be effective. I find the whole line to be very user friendly and anti aging . ❤
Thanks Hils, and interesting re powder - I have wondered about whether I should try that. And how lovely your mum has such great skin - both my mum and granny would powder, especially on the nose! Yes love Westman Atelier, they feel so luxe ❤️
I see videos of make up artist & they line the lower lashes the outer third lashes & its supposed to make the eyes look larger. For myself I use similar application for foundation but start in the middle of my face & blend out adding more to the areas if I need more coverage.
And i thought i looked great 😯no wonder people were crossing the road to avoid me😅 Thanks Dez i will be dishing the old black liner ,and giving your final look a go.
Enjoyed your video very much. I must try a face primer -you have convinced me. Your hair with highlights suits you. Also, you are very lucky to have such big, expressive eyes. Your eye makeup accentuates them perfectly. Thanks for another great video!
Hello my darling Dez. I think all of our moms lined their eyes in black liner. I go with brown, gray, or burgundy. Black, for me, is too harsh. Fabulous tips, Dez. I see so many mature women wearing your before look. I want to tell them to get rid of the black liner, and stop applying blush on the apples of their cheeks! You and Melissa 55 are big Victoria Beckham eyeliner fans. It looks lovely. Gorgeous finished look, my dear Dez. Lots of love. 💖💖🫶
Excellent advise i had gotten to the point of not wearing makeup foundation or concealer because it looked horrifically aging and i would end up taking it off. I just turned 71 and inheritsd good skin. But its really stared showing age now. Concealer was a total mess and i switched to a darker shade because i was using a lighter shade which highlited my wrinkles! Yuk Truly overall less is more and keeping tone more neutral and warm pinky like. I have very olivey skin and when no sun tan is pretty dead looking. Thanks so much!
Good information. You’d think we’d know those things by now… but as you noted we didn’t have all those different products to use years ago. Thank you👍😘❤️
As a fairly new subscriper from US, I really enjoy your videos. I thought your tips were great but laughed at the overdone top 10 mistakes. The real finished makeup was perfect.
Dez, now I have an eyebrow question. I know I do my bows too dark. My hair is medium-dark cool brown with some gray. My hairline is very cool silver. I feel like most products are too warm or too dark and taupe just doesn't do a thing! Any advice? I am a drugstore gal.
It's tricky. Have you tried the NYX Powder Louder in taupe? It looks dark on the website but it worked for me. Also maybe go in very lightly. The other option is powder rather than pencil - you could even try one of your eyeshadows - I used to use a Bobbi Brown eyeshadow on mine. Let me know if you can't find the right shade and I'll do some digging ❤️
I prefer to only line under the eyes from about halfway. It looks better on me. I’m definitely guilty of the mascara things. I seem very cack handed and always manage to smudge it or blink after applying it! So generally only use one coat. I don’t curl them unless it’s a special occasion. I have brows that were microbladed several years ago as I hardly have any actual brows. It’s quite dark so I have to match the dark colour otherwise it looks odd. I just use as light a touch as possible. I’d have them redone but I’m now taking blood thinners for an irregular heart rate and I don’t think anyone would do them . I like the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow stuff in a pot. I’m experimenting with highlighter, I love how it looks on other people but haven’t completely got the knack yet for myself.
It's taken me some time to get the hang of highlighter myself, but I almost wear it daily, now. The halfway eyeliner thing is a good technique - I'd forgotten it, so thanks for reminding me. Brows are tricky - I have to stop myself going in too heavy 😉

FANTASTIC advice Dez, it’s so easy to forget and drift back into some of these old habits- I agree with all this tips. Let’s look younger not older !! ❤❤❤
Thanks Mags ❤️
Stunning and beautifully natural looking.
It was great to see your mistakes and how you transformed yourself. 🌺🌺
I'm glad I found your channel. You are delightful
Aww thanks so much, Diana!
Some great products...you did your brows perfectly.
Great video. Very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for the tip about the blusher
Love your videos. Another tip I’d like to tell you about because it makes a huge difference to me.

If I need to reapply makeup before going out , I spray the brush again with the setting spray before applying the foundation.
I think that sounds good. Personally I want my makeup to make me look better but not look as if I’m wearing much. I use as little foundation as I can.
Ooh thanks Hilary! I just ordered the setting spray yesterday so will give that a go - thank you!

Thank you!

Have a good one my beautiful friend!❤️
Thanks dearest T! I need to plan in the Laura Geller comparison vid - I've also ordered a Bare Minerals power foundation to add to the mix...❤️
I just made a video and had way too much blush on. Plus I forgot to blend. Grrrr I'll send everyone over to you. 😅
Hi Sandra!! I do that too, I think my light “blinds” my eyes a bit and I can’t see how dark my blush is until later when I’m editing.
@@MaggieDe I'm so glad to hear that Maggie. That's exactly right. It looks great on the monitor and then you go to edit, and BLAM!!!
I've just ordered a "pair" of one eyed glasses from Amazon which is supposed to help makeup application - watch this space 🙂
Loving your channel. Pleased to have found you!
Thank you so much!

Lovely look! I have had to tweak many of my makeup techniques as I have gotten older. Very good tips and I always enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much!
Can’t wait to watch! I’m all ears 😊!
LOL! You are minimalist queen ❤️
What great tips! I love how you did your cheek color. You and I have similar coloring, so your advice is especially apt. Thanks, Dez.
Thank you so much Francesca! Can I say what a beautiful name you have - as a child I wanted to be a ballerina and was going to change my name to Francesca ❤️
Hi Dez great video !!!

Thankyou Dez for these great tips Totally agree with you.

I just realized I was using concealer before my foundation...that was why it was caking. Thank you.
And i thought i looked great 😯no wonder people were crossing the road to avoid me😅 Thanks Dez i will be dishing the old black liner ,and giving your final look a go.

Dez, the ELF primer is my holy grail and that is exactly how I've been applying my foundation and I love the way it looks.
It is really good, isnt it!

Don't forget the tidemark on the bath!
Oh gosh yes, the bath - I had forgotten 😂
I have heard that applying castor oil to your lashes at night helps them grow longer and thicker (Barbara O'neill).
I use castor oil, it does seem to work, mine are long unfortunately blonde so they need mascara. Much cheaper than the growth serums
@@janclapham8367 It also helps brow growth.
I need to try it on my brows - thank you!
Maybe too much liner, put either on top or bottom. Your hair would be georgous grey....
I discussed going grey with my hairdresser recently, but he said it's a bit too early - maybe next year 😊
Thanks Dez have you lightened your hair a tad as it looks really nice see you soon ❤
I have indeed - thought we'd give it a go ❤️
oops! a little slip? married 3 times?
LOL - yes 3 times married, this one's the keeper 🙂
