      I think those are two questions. What's new (with you) is a common greeting when you haven't seen a friend for some time. What's the news is a specific question when you are waiting for information from someone, ie, if you're expecting a job offer, your mother may ask you "so what's the news"?

    其實 I am doing good 係文法錯誤,應該係I am doing well. 美國人因為唔注重文法,所以錯誤用adjective 形容詞good,但由於已經約定俗成,所以而家用good都無問題。

    • @TiffanyTeachesEnglish
      @TiffanyTeachesEnglish  4 роки тому

      Can you let us have the link to the video where Lucy said it’s ‘wrong’? It’s very widely used/spoken and if you check the dictionary, you’ll see the usage: the word good is nowadays widely used as an adverb

    all these comments ("seeing someone", "date night", "you look tired", "had a late night", "that looks good (referring to the food)" are considered invading of privacy and or rude, unless this person is your friend. If it's just a co-worker or acquaintance, then these are super inappropriate. In addition, DO NOT COMMENT on others' clothing as "you look smart in this suit" or "you look good", these could be mistaken as pick up lines. On the other hand, you can give complement such as "I really like you jacket" instead. Otherwise next thing you know, you'd be called to H.R. to answer some questions!
