This is still one of my favorite musical theater moments. Drew Sarich was such an epic Armand. Very dissimilar from the Armand in the book, yes, but God did I love him.
A flawed musical that doesn't always hold attention like one would assume such a story ought, but no-one can deny the intensity of the climactic turn in this scene at, "his crime..." The crescending motif, the way Lestat ostensibly moves to placate, then merely laughs in cold satisfaction in Armand's face...chills.
I'm back again. That kiss!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😍 The best kiss scene EVER! I absolutely love Hugh and Drew. They are gorgeous and freaking talented. Right Before My Eyes and After All This Time are my fav songs in the play. I want Lestat to come back to the stage! ❤
I am one of the incredibly lucky people to have seen this show on Broadway a mere two days before it closed. I saw it having been a fan of the book and also of Hugh Panaro who played The Phantom in the first Broadway show I’d ever seen. It was with maniacal irony that the performance of Lestat that I saw was the one where his role was played by Drew Sarich (Armand). He was incredible and blew the roof off the place. I loved the show and him. I love this performance for that reason.
I found this video a few days ago and I absolutely fell in love it it, I mean Drew’s Voice! That kiss! Drew’s acting! The ending of the video! I didn’t see that coming, I watched the musical and I liked it, this is my favorite song in the whole musical.
MadameMooney I agree completely with your comment :D I really don't mind the hair myself: auburn can be very close to brown and the stage lights, well... at least I tell myself that, hah. I love Drew as Armand: his voice has a youthful touch to it that goes perfectly with the character, and his spite during the song is amazing.
Ahahaha I can't believe they made this into a musical!! I mean it's actually very fitting considering the books, but to see it is kinda funny lol. This is actually kinda good and now I wanna see the whole thing. I LOVE LESTAT!!!
I agree. This was the best kiss scene. The whole musical was close to the book, unlike Queen of the damned, they only changed a little. Mostly the end and the part with Marius.
Oh, stop picking on Amadeo Lestat, it's not nice, he's far too dramatic. Taunting him with Marius was mean, but funny. I love this song, and the personification of Armand is beautifully done! I want to see this musical so badly!
That would not surprise me I guess. I sure looks very comfortable in these scenes, which is great. On the other hand, so does Drew (which makes me love him even more than I already do) and he is married. Well, whatever team they like, they are made of awesome. The chemistry they got in the show seems to make the temperature rise whenever I watch this. :P--
@Rocco3290 They're talking about Marius, Armand's creator. All that Lestat says is what Marius said to him about Armand (in the musical, at least. Because in the books Marius loves Armand very deeply, and it's him the one who resist to come back)
@dragonofthedarknight Anne Rice's characters may be bisexual in nature but as they can't actually have intercourse, their romantic relationships with others are much deeper and more profound.
I just love how comfortable those two seem to be about it. Some with the Devil's Road scene and that was even hotter. I know Drew is married but does anyone know which team Hugh plays for?
call me slow but why did no one tell me about this? i read interview with the vampire when i was ten and im just now finding out there's a damn musical.
I like this alot but the one thing that bothers me is Armand does not look like that.. He is a 17 year only auburn curly haired vampire not some dark haired mysterious looking guy
I can't say I've followed many incarnations of VC spinoffs/outside projects, so could someone inform me why this Armand has dark brown/black hair in this incarnation? Is it part of his character for this play or was it a choice from the directors/designers?
+Eric Pfeiffer Someone once told me its available on Itunes however I can't validate that as I don't have an itunes account. Only thing I know is on here. Good luck!
@XPhile10131121 True, but in all that i've seen, they never make him young, always older, when he's pretty young, in his teens as far as looks go in the series. I guess it's so people don't drool over a 16 year old.
It's been years and I still have not gotten over that kiss 💖
This is still one of my favorite musical theater moments. Drew Sarich was such an epic Armand. Very dissimilar from the Armand in the book, yes, but God did I love him.
THAT KISS! ❤ Drew's voice is beautiful. They are fantastic. I love Hugh. ❤
Seriously, YEARS I've loved this song. Never once have gotten tired of it and Drew Sarich's voice here....oh god...it does things *melts*
A flawed musical that doesn't always hold attention like one would assume such a story ought, but no-one can deny the intensity of the climactic turn in this scene at, "his crime..." He never sings this the same way twice. He's so wonderful! Favorite song in the play!
I could not bear to watch the kiss!!!!! I was sooo fangirling though!!!! I can die happily now...
His voice is beautiful. It sounds so classy!
Dude! Arman's voice ROCKS!
I will never stop being overly excited about this song and show. Saw it live twice on Broadway. Drew is the best Armand. ❤️❤️
I found this video a few days ago and I absolutely fell in love it it, I mean Drew’s Voice! That kiss! Drew’s acting! The ending of the video! I didn’t see that coming, I watched the musical and I liked it, this is my favorite song in the whole musical.
I am still so in love with Drew... After all this time!
Armand has a beautiful voice
Drew’s voice is so beautiful ❤️
Omg that KISS!!!
Woow, that kiss...!!
My favorite song in the musical, and my favorite version of the song. :)
i wish i could see this musical in its entirety aghhh❤
That kiss though… 🤌🏼

i would tend to agree, the movements as well, very close to the descriptions in the novels, so cocky, i love it.
Ahahaha I can't believe they made this into a musical!! I mean it's actually very fitting considering the books, but to see it is kinda funny lol. This is actually kinda good and now I wanna see the whole thing. I LOVE LESTAT!!!
Armand is my favorite so far. I love him ^^ Drew plays him well.
OMG that kiss.. I LOVE Hugh
The sass in this scene makes me laugh every time I watch it. lol
Drew Sarich! 😍
i still cannot get over this... and it would seem no one else is able to either, remind me as to why this was canceled?
New York rewrites. Tragic
This makes me so happy I wanna cry. I never get tired of this scene.
wow I love Drew he's so amazing
This is amazing!!!!!! Sadly we will never hear that again.........
Im so sad that i was too young to know this show existed wish i could find a theatre showing it.
best part of the entire show
That kiss😍❤
OMG!!!! es la mejor escena que he visto en mi vida, la adore!
I agree. This was the best kiss scene. The whole musical was close to the book, unlike Queen of the damned, they only changed a little. Mostly the end and the part with Marius.
still lovin' this!!❤
I honestly have a hard time picking a favorite scene, it's all so awesome, but this one is definitely vying for the top.
OMG !! I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A MUSICAL! I LOOVE IT !!
I love this song...❤
I love Drew !!!!
Oh, stop picking on Amadeo Lestat, it's not nice, he's far too dramatic. Taunting him with Marius was mean, but funny. I love this song, and the personification of Armand is beautifully done! I want to see this musical so badly!

Tu sabes onde tem o musical completo e de preferência legendado? Acabei de descobrir q ele existe e já amei
That would not surprise me I guess. I sure looks very comfortable in these scenes, which is great. Incredible. Beautiful
Ahaah hell yeah! I hadn't watched this for years and just happened upon it the other night... I almost died x_x
How in hell I've missed this?!?! Oh dear God, this is brilliant! It would be nice to see this musical someday, maybe they'll come to here too =]
Oh wow...I wish this where still running I would be there every night lol
Oh my God!
I
They're my favorites too :*)
Oh God.Shocked!Good interpretation.
I was just skipping through it and stopped RIGHT at the lip-lock. I stopped for a moment, and then thought, "Ohhhh."
Reserve that sad look on your face~! *Grabs ear*
Why was this taken of Broadway so soon? Every song I've heard is amazing, the cast is sooo good!
That's Drew for you!
@TH3F4STL4N3 Marius did not make Lestat, a vampire by the name of Magnus made Lestat. Marius made Armand.
the kiss 😼😼😼😼😼
@Rocco3290 They're talking about Marius, Armand's creator. All that Lestat says is what Marius said to him about Armand (in the musical, at least. Because in the books Marius loves Armand very deeply, and it's him the one who resist to come back)
why is drew sarich such a boss?
@liepinshtein Thousands of thumbs up for this answer
Oh. My. God. 0.0 WHY DID I MISS THIS MUSICAL?!?!? Is there any chance of them doing a revival?
Og God I want to see that.... Why oh why was I born in a coutry with no love for theatre and dark stories....
lol! I kind of wish they'd done that now XD
2:49
Love it.
I am soooo sad I missed this musical! Can they do it again plz? XD

ANd the fangirls go wild... my own inner fangirl is squealing...
@dragonofthedarknight Anne Rice's characters may be bisexual in nature but as they can't actually have intercourse, their romantic relationships with others are much deeper and more profound.

Armand is so extra
The SF version was the real and best version..then it went to hell.
I love Drew as Armand just..... San Francisco Armand was brilliant! Why did they have to change him?
lol you haven't heard of seductively taunting your enemies? that's why male villains in cartoons have to be so effeminate. xD
call me slow but why did no one tell me about this? i read interview with the vampire when i was ten and im just now finding out there's a damn musical.
can we get this on spotify Please
Ahhh I’m back again 😊
Lestat is the blonde and Armand is singing to him.
Is it part of his character for this play or was it a choice from the directors/designers?
does anywhere know where i can watch this online??
@wickedphant0m It's a shame. I saw the San Fransisco version. It's amazing. =/
Does anyone know where I could get sheet music for this?
+Eric Pfeiffer Someone once told me its available on Itunes however I can't validate that as I don't have an itunes account. Only thing I know is on here. Good luck!
phwoaarrrr
awe poor Armand dont worry Marius still luvs you.
now go scrape Lestat off the pavement he needs to stay pretty to.
KYA! AMADEO IS SO CUTE >w
@XPhile10131121 True, but in all that i've seen, they never make him young, always older, when he's pretty young, in his teens as far as looks go in the series. I guess it's so people don't drool over a 16 year old.
Now with the release
Of the new Interview wit the vampire show, could they bring this back?
I know how you feel! :P
@Zsazsa96 UM, WOW, SO MUCH Anger!
It's not part of his character. It was just a choice for his costume design I think.
I'm thinking for the boys.
@Rocco3290 I think Armand meant Louis loved him and not Lestat
were getting rockstar lestat next season…. what do i have to get drew sarich a role
Hugh's straight and as far as I know he's single lol
@asikcandy
do you get sarcasm, right????
Who plays Armand?
Drew Sarich
@@hanta9583 thank you!
@ethalinia Vampire musicals are cursed. There has never been a successful one on Broadway.
@wygrajdvd I prefer Drew as Armand and as Lestat also xD
2:40 💋
