"The funny thing about going to another country is you realize just how crap where you came from is, and how different things can be." - yeah shocking isn't it? Britain has fallen behind in some many ways, but sadly there's no real plan to turn things around (national service or VAT on private school fees anyone?). There has been decades of no plan, and severe lack of investment. I worked in Further Education back in the late 80s early 90s and even then, the lack of investment in technical education (among other things) was completely shocking, and declining, not improving. Same with infrastructure. I can clearly remember the first time I visited Thailand in 2003, everyone had been telling me Thailand was a "third world" country, and yet when I arrived I was surprised they had a better mobile network, a better Internet infrastructure, better and cheaper apartments etc etc. It was a revelation. You're still young, and it is worth looking East. I have one foot in the Philippines these days, and always try and spend as much time there as possible. All the best. Cal.
Why don’t you just get a starlink?
