Just FYI: Tenba makes the CINELUXE ROLLER, which is basically the same bag as the Shimoda one (Shimoda and Tenba are partners), but they have fixed the two problems you have with the Shimoda (no inserts, but Velcro dividers and a white lining).
Sam have you used this one on flight ? How did it hold up ? I’ve one trans Atlantic flight coming up and would like to know if this works as a carryon as it looks little more in terms of bag depth
i’m rocking two zf for now, but the lack of a battery grip is very annoying because i like the extra weight when i shoot with a bounce flash - the grip adds weight but creates a lower center of gravity which is much easier on my wrists for multiple hour dance photos
@@iamsamhurdphotography thank you the reply! The zf is a great camera, but it does need a grip for any use outside of a small lens! Considering just getting the z9. Love your photography and your videos!
You can do carry on with that bag fully loaded with 2 bodies & all of your lenses?, will it reach the max allowed weight for you to carry on the airplane cabin?
@@iamsamhurdphotographyexcept on my trip within Thailand where the Carry-On weight limit is 15 lbs; I haven’t had the chance to see if they’re going to check weight yet.
***CRINGES seeing your lenses without lens covers on them in your bag*** Also, Shimoda is one of THE most popular camera bag companies out there! You probably should learn about them!
The interior color is way cooler than white or black, that’s what makes it unique man!!!’
The opening like a doctor’s bag is such a cool feature!
Wish I saw this earlier I use a combination of nanuck hard case with peak design messenger back. Would have to check one on a plane though.
tenba also makes a really good roller in this same style (i think it’s the same designer)
Imagine your random amazon find is shimoda. (One of the most durable, hard use outdoor focused gear brands). You chose wisely, or luckily :)
or both ;)
Angel Sam just landed from sky with that light!

yep! I actually own that one too. Use the Shimoda when I travel in the tenba when I’m local.

Also my go to bag ! I just need the proper insert for it :)
Haven’t made the jump back to Nikon yet? You seem to love the zf and z9, but surprised to see you took the r3’s.

also, this is an older video from my patreon only feed a while back ;)

Can I use my own Velcro pads? Are the sides of it velcro or am I forced to buy their insert?
velcro should work, but you still need the cube insert that lifts in and out
What core unit you are using in there ?

thankfully, most usa airlines, don’t care about weight

I actually like the blue interior

@@iamsamhurdphotography Thank you!

shimoda is not popular in the wedding photography world. also, lens caps are for amateurs who inevitably lose or drop them.
