I wasnt familiar with the Coros fitness test prior to this video so take this with a pinch of salt. But in my humble opinion it doesnt seem to be the most reliable test. I'd say that it is unlikely that after 5 weeks of consistent running at your level your running performance has decreased, instead I'd say "the test result has decreased", but it seems it can be affected by soo many variables that you may have improved performance and just got a worse test result. You've nailed some of the variables, weather, sleep, coffee, hydration in the previous days can all affect HR. But even the readings from the watch (is it a watch or chest strap?), watches are known to be imprecise in measuring heart rate so a test that is so rigid in hitting certain HR values would feel imprecise to me. As you've also mentioned, you're feeling stronger which IMO is the expected result of your training block. I myself prefer to do solo time trials (3km) for tests or a 5k race. And even if it's a TT I try to treat it as a race, e.g. decrease the load the previous two days, try to keep optimal pace throughout, etc. Cheers and keep it up 👏
