NEW MERCH we brought back the "I'm an odd shape" crewneck in two new colours !! 100% of my earnings will be spread amongst many deserving charities !! So if you were ever gonna buy my merch make sure to get this launch for a good cause :) fanjoy.co/collections/mia-maples
Mia is NOT your average UA-camr/Influencer! She's in a league of her own. She has integrity, and class. She would never claim to donate to charity but not actually do it. It's not about numbers or "clout" for her. She's genuine!
I noticed that you used a straight stitch when sewing the elastics on. You would've had more ruffles and less seam stretching if you used a zig zag stitch. Plus if you had a thinner elastic to make seam feel less bulky. I just wanted to give advice for future projects involving elastics and ruffles.
"Dont worry about it because its my hands, not yours, so you're going to be okay" The words that everyone should apply to everything that has nothing to do with them.
I laughed out loud when she said that. I'm re-watching this episode because Mia is one of my comfort places. I always feel better and more relaxed after watching a Mia video.
Charity suggestions: AECF and The Angel Tree. Both help kids with parents in prison. My mother was in prison most of my childhood. The Angel Tree was the only christmas I had. Other organizations helped with therapy, transportation for visitations, summer camps, and even get away retreats for moms and kids outside of the prison for a week.
When Mia does the flashbacks of other videos from over a year ago, I actually tear up bc she's so real and she's grown so much. She deserves everything.
@@Delordem think that she would pocket the profits from the charity merch sale and just say she was donating the money to charity. She would NEVER do that.🙂
I totally love how you didn't just waste the spare dye. That's what I was worried about so early on. You're just a sweet sensible person and that's super refreshing!
The word you’re looking for is “Upcycle”. Also, I would love if you made a skirt with the bottom part of that dress. I want to see if it’s possible to use every part of a piece to make it cuter so you don’t waste any fabric. 💕🤷🏻♀️
You’re the best Mia 😫😍 Charity suggestion: Crohn’s & Colitis Canada (they’re a non-profit organization and fund Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) research in Canada and donations are super low right now because of COVID-19. They need help to ensure we can continue to fund research, find a cure for IBD, and protect the immunosuppressed!)
Holly S Great suggestion! I feel like IBD funding gets pushed to the back because a lot of people don’t think it’s high risk enough or something. Because many people can live quite normally with it. However, I’ve seen the other side of it. My husband has ulcerative colitis and because of this a lot has happened. Because it’s an autoimmune disease his immune system is comprised and so when he was in his teens he got a very normal ear infection his body couldn’t heal and he went deaf (legitimately, completely, 100% deaf. we get a lot of questions on that haha.) After that, at 19 he developed colon cancer and due to his immune system doctors didn’t think his body could handle radiation so he had a total colectomy (colon removal). He developed cirrhosis of the liver due to the medication he was on and has been on the liver transplant list for almost a decade. On top of that he was recently diagnosed (after a very scary 3 week hospital visit) of a very rare pulmonary lung autoimmune disease (BOOP) for short that is linked to his UC - they’re known to be linked together in a lot of cases though doctors aren’t sure why the two diseases pair together. Sorry for the long post, but I was so happy to see you mention IBD funding and I wanted to share why. My main point is that he’s not even 30 yet and has had to experience all of this because there’s not much research and treatment for IBD auto immune diseases.
My brother has ulcerative colitis and just had an ileostomy operation at the age of 19, there is such a stigma around these sorts of issues, awareness is so helpful.
Yes please!!! I have a freind who has a serious case of crohns disease and it breaks my heart to see her get thinner and not being able to do daily tasks. Her meds aren't helping anymore and recently she's been fainting on almost a daily basis. She says she might have to be hospitalized for everyone's sake and i am genuinely so worried for her😢
I would LOVE for a portion of the money to be donated to the crohns and colitis foundation! I'm 21 and was diagnosed with crohns when I was 9 years old. I think these are diseases that are often not spoken about yet so many people are affected by them. There are many treatment options available but they all have so many harsh side effects. It would be amazing to fund their research for a cure! :)
Love this! One of my college friends had chrons and she’s always trying to do fundraisers to raise money and awareness, I definitely think if I wasn’t friends with her I probably wouldn’t even realize the severity of what people go through cause it’s not very well known.
"I'm going to put this somewhere really important" *puts it right next to workspace* "Right there." This is me when I need to save something tiny like an extra button or sewing needle. Of course I forget it's there and sweep it off by accident moments later.
Mia for the title of the video: “Transforming Wish Cloth-“ Mia in the Video: “Tie-Dying every piece of white cotton clothing I own” Lolll love you Mia, loved the video too 💗☺️
@@Sabrina-zr3ji it's fairly easy on a washer/dryer where you decide the length pf the cycle to create the illusion of only washing one item. Basically film yourself dropping the item into the washer and closing the lid, then set the time to two or three minutes on a spin cycle, then open the lid and dump the rest of your laundry in, and set it to however long you usually wash, with added detergent and softener as normal. For the drying illusion, take all the laundry out into a separate basket, take the single item you filmed and put it back in the washer, then flim yourself taking it out and putting it in the dryer, then same as before set it to one or two minutes on a dry cycle and close the lid, then turn off the camera and put everything else in and run it as normal. Then all you have to do is leave the single item in the dryer after the cycle is over to film yourself taking it out
She TOTALLY upscaled it but I do think it would look better with a more like flowy skirt that is dyed like blue or something or ripped jeans that are a bit overzied but that's just my 80s opinion hehe
Can we talk about the fact that she’s giving her earning to charities coz honestly dats a big favour my friends live in Yemen and it made me happy to hear this to thank you a lot I really appreciate it and I mean it once again thnks x
Hey!! Just wanted to say that all your video ideas ever since we've all been stuck at home have been so good and so entertaining and a distraction from everything sad that's going on around the world. I hope your channel keeps growing!
Omg, I would love it if Mia would start a series of explaining techniques that she just learned. Let me explain: There are so many things that I would like to learn like how to use a sewing machine. The way Mia explains it is like somebody who is trying to figure it out with you. It's not by a professional who uses jargon or unknown words.(And you feel stupid in within the first minute of the video).. The way she explained the elastic and the pulling.. That's what I would love with multiple techniques. Maybe watercolouring or making a dress from scratch or...wherever she likes to learn herself. That was my monologue. Thank you for your time. XP
You killed it girl. Brought back my 80s childhood with this one!!!! You have inspired me today to work on my house even in depression. Thank you so much for being you!!! And I want to say thank you to your parents for walking and doing life with you!!! They truly are your close friends. I love that!!!
Pro tip for Mia: use a zigzag stitch when sewing down elastic to prevent the thread from snapping when you stretch the elastic. It'll still snap if you try to break it obviously, but it will make it way more sturdy and less likely to completely unravel

OMG I LOVE this series SO MUCH!!! Yes PLEASE keep this series going! The first video was INCREDIBLE! You totally transformed that dress into something actually really cute and wearable! Can't wait to see what else you can do!
I thought that too, but i think the problem with these kind of kits is once the colour is activated you have to use it up, so by the time the scraps would have been ready to rinse she coudnt have used the dye anymore. Thats probably also why she used different colours on the second go :)
As someone whos been sewing for a long time, I say you did so good on this project! Elastic can be tricky to line up and put in, you did an awesome job and the tie dye color turned out beautiful!
Literally who would think you'd lie about a donation you're literally like an angel girl, dw anyone that knows you absolutely trusts you and thinks you're amazing for being so generous ♥️

when Mia said she's bringing back old merch which she launched 'a couple of years ago' I just realised how long I've been subscribed 😭😭❤❤❤ Love you Mia, you're one of the most genuine UA-camrs I've known. Absolutely love your content ❤
Dear Mia, you're such an angel and a good role model for the younger generation, thank you so much for deciding to give 100% of your merch earning for charities, especially with what's going on on Yemen, they'll need it so much. I'm just one of your subscriber but I'm so proud of you. Keep being your amazing self and keep spreading positivity. Stay safe & healthy!
Mia you are so fun to watch and joyful! I also like to see and I wanted to give you a tip. Instead of sewing on your elastic you could make a casing then pull your elastic through. I prefer doing this but if you think your technique is easier then you do you!👍🏻
Omg when you mentioned the Yemen crisis I cried I wasn't sure people were aware of this and I'm so glad you even mentioned it. Its so terrible what is happening over there and it's great that you shed light on it. You're amazing Mia
Mia thank you for your smiles and your videos there helping me through my recovery from my surgery and cancer😊 I think the shirt is adorable and looks very nice on you
Omg, this is inspiring me to start sewing again. I use to take old clothing that was tattered and worn and turned it in to something new. Sadly I'd have to get a sewing machine again but watching you makes me nostalgic. Also i do love what you did with the green dress. Please please please keep making these. I love this.
My youngest son LOVES your voice! He’s 10 months and anytime he’s crying, if I start one of your videos he instantly stops and just stares at the screen 😂❤️
I like this project series for upscaling wish clothing. I see a lot of comments about this UA-camr and honestly I watch her because she is wholesome and that is quite refreshing in this day and age. Her family is adorable and very supportive and you can tell they are close knit. This is just a nice series to watch.
I'm a Fiber Construction and Design Major so I wanted to give you a few tips for the next time you dye clothes :) ~ When you wash the clothes first I would suggest not drying it because it closes up the fibers again and makes it hard for the color to take. ~ If you wet the fabric before dying it, it's good to wet it with hot water because it opens up the fibers and helps the color take better. The only thing is your rubber bands have to be a little tighter or it will bleed a lot. ~ You can dye fabric without wetting it first, it just leaves more white in the areas where you've rubber banded the fabric. PS: the swirl dyed shirt looked BOMB!
I can't imagine someone not believing you about a donation. You have been nothing but honest and also a great influence for your audience. Also love these videos so much !! Keep up the great content Mia 🤗

What was the name of the ‘cutting tool’ that Mia used? I’m curious blc it look so satisfying and convenient when Mia cut the dress in half😂😍👍

when Mia said she's bringing back old merch which she launched 'a couple of years ago' I just realised how long I've been subscribed 😭😭❤❤❤ Love you Mia, you're one of the most genuine UA-camrs I've known. Absolutely love your content ❤
Dear Mia,
you're such an angel and a good role model for the younger generation,
thank you so much for deciding to give 100% of your merch earning for charities, especially with what's going on on Yemen, they'll need it so much.
I'm just one of your subscriber but I'm so proud of you.
Keep being your amazing self and keep spreading positivity.
Stay safe & healthy!
I love the fact that she is raising so much charity!! Definitely liking this video! 💕💕
The end outfit gives me Lizzie McGuire vibes especially with the shoes !
Duuuude 100%
Can we appreciate how good Mia's editing skills areee......💞💞💞💞
Mia you are so fun to watch and joyful! I also like to see and I wanted to give you a tip. Instead of sewing on your elastic you could make a casing then pull your elastic through. I prefer doing this but if you think your technique is easier then you do you!👍🏻
Omg when you mentioned the Yemen crisis I cried I wasn't sure people were aware of this and I'm so glad you even mentioned it. Its so terrible what is happening over there and it's great that you shed light on it. You're amazing Mia
I’m in love with this very retro kind of look. I love it 😻
Mia said “If you’re bothered... stay bothered.” Lol
I hope you're gonna make more of this. I love it! It's interesting, entertaining. Give idea. Really love it!
And i wish you would have done a 2 pièces, it would have been sooo damn cute
Mia thank you for your smiles and your videos there helping me through my recovery from my surgery and cancer😊 I think the shirt is adorable and looks very nice on you
❤
Omg, this is inspiring me to start sewing again. I use to take old clothing that was tattered and worn and turned it in to something new. Sadly I'd have to get a sewing machine again but watching you makes me nostalgic. Also i do love what you did with the green dress. Please please please keep making these. I love this.
I love the way u opened the door and called “Memmmmmmmme”
My youngest son LOVES your voice! He’s 10 months and anytime he’s crying, if I start one of your videos he instantly stops and just stares at the screen 😂❤️
Daww :D
Aww
literally everyone else: “subpar”
mia: “💖✨below🧚♀️ 🌈par🥰✨”
It's so adorable!!! Awesome job!!! As a fellow sewing novice, I applaud you taking this project on, learning, and sharing 👏👏👏👏👏
I like this project series for upscaling wish clothing. I see a lot of comments about this UA-camr and honestly I watch her because she is wholesome and that is quite refreshing in this day and age. Her family is adorable and very supportive and you can tell they are close knit. This is just a nice series to watch.
I'm so excited to be here this early!!!
My only question is why do people dislike her videos?
Jealousy possibly 🤷♀️
🤣🤣^^
Haters gunna hate 🤷♀️
So...boring...

17:32 'sit on puff' 😂 absolutely me calling my mom before i make a disaster 🥺
I love that line
I'm a Fiber Construction and Design Major so I wanted to give you a few tips for the next time you dye clothes :)
~ When you wash the clothes first I would suggest not drying it because it closes up the fibers again and makes it hard for the color to take.
"If i can do you it, can you do it probably better" lmao😹 I sew and i'd say you did a hell of a job lol
I love when Mama Maples comes to save the day 😂
