When I was younger, I had contamination worries but thankfully those have gotten better for some reason. As a teen, I started driving later than all of my friends because of OCD. When I did start, if I ever heard a noise or drove over a bump, I would panic that I hit an animal or even a person and I would have to get out of the car every time and check. I was a virgin until I got married and honestly LOVE that being part of my husband and my story. 7 years, 3 kids later we are crazy in love and have a beautiful, amazing life, in... all departments ;). It’s not the way everyone does things but many do and it feels good to have it acknowledged as a valid, great way to do relationships, love and marriage. Lots of people all over the world don’t have sex until they’re married, it’s really not that strange :).

now that he has come clean. looking back it kinda makes sense when he said googling for answers etc. I guess he stalked Cassie to hold onto the one thing that he thought could make him look straight. He chose Cassie coz she wasn't into him and he knew that. I thought that it was just a typical man wanting what he can't have. But Cassie and him never had a connection and there was never a moment that they were truly focusing on themselves. He dismissed Hannah B, Hannah G and Tayshia without listening to reason.
Considering he just came out - I'm actually proud of his journey and happy that he can finally live in his truth. Yeah, I was going to say he definitely sounds a lot like asexual friends before they knew what asexuality really is (like yes you can still want to makeout with someone or have a physical relationship, etc). Its because he was having an internal struggle with accepting himself. He was trying to be straight and he used the show as a way to convince himself that he could be.
I think he may actually be bisexual. He said he felt in love with Cassie. Also stated he is not emotionally attracted to men. So maybe he is only sexually attracted to men and emotionally attracted to women. He’s never had sex with a woman. Maybe if he tries it once he may then change his mind and think he is bisexual. Only time will tell.

Like many Americans, I was brought up with a religion. Mine was Catholic. Since we didn't sacrifice any goats or burn any crops to please God, I began to question the essence of Christianity, the blood sacrifice. Why would God let his Son suffer and die on the cross to atone for the sin in the world? It's really a nutty idea. Yeah, I get that it's ancient, based on traditions that were in cultures long ago, but they did a lot of crazy things. Now we have science to explain things. It doesn't explain why we're here but it's liberating to not have to pretend to know. And without all that baggage, you can be free to explore a lot of other things about yourself and question everything. Keep the things you learned from religion that were the most helpful and meaningful to you. Discard the rest. The Lord won't mind.

I was a virgin until I got married and honestly LOVE that being part of my husband and my story. 7 years, 3 kids later we are crazy in love and have a beautiful, amazing life, in... all departments ;). It’s not the way everyone does things but many do and it feels good to have it acknowledged as a valid, great way to do relationships, love and marriage. Lots of people all over the world don’t have sex until they’re married, it’s really not that strange :).
And he came out today. Good for him. The only people that will care that he’s gay and judge him are religious people. The judgement and disrespect my gay friends and I have faced for being gay, has only come from religious people. The nicest, most loving people in the world to us are not religious. Oh, the irony.

now that he has come clean. looking back it kinda makes sense when he said googling for answers etc. I guess he stalked Cassie to hold onto the one thing that he thought could make him look straight. He chose Cassie coz she wasn't into him and he knew that. I thought that it was just a typical man wanting what he can't have. But Cassie and him never had a connection and there was never a moment that they were truly focusing on themselves. He dismissed Hannah B, Hannah G and Tayshia without listening to reason.
I think it was pretty obvious he was gay . I always thought he was struggling with it . Glad he can be himself finally.
Considering he just came out - I'm actually proud of his journey and happy that he can finally live in his truth. I'm sure that there are other people who have struggled similarly and I hope his journey can inspire them to live their truth as well. It's not easy for everyone, but it's beautiful that he got there eventually.

Maybe he is just demi, and on the asexual spectrum. Sex isnt as essential as people try to make it seem like especially for men. Good on him for being true to himself and not forcing himself to fit in. Pretty sure he couldve easily done the deed with a woman even if he was gay to get out of the stigma but he stayed true to what he wanted for himself.
Yeah, I was going to say he definitely sounds a lot like asexual friends before they knew what asexuality really is (like yes you can still want to makeout with someone or have a physical relationship, etc). It's also very possible that he's demisexual/bisexual with all of the questioning. Who knows? It's cool that he's chatting about it, but his conclusions I guess are none of our business or concern unless he wants to publicly talk about it. I just hope he's explored or does explore what asexuality really is and looks like.

I think when there is a lot of people calling you gay, and when you aren't meeting an extreme gender stereotype, you can turn on yourself and start questioning your own sense of truth about your sexuality. It can cause a person to question well into adulthood.
They were calling him gay and it turns out they were right. He was lieing to himself his whole life and suppressing his sexuality. I've been there, and I can say it's so much better to stop lieing and start living

Like, it seems like he's been told his whole life that he's "soo good-looking, and has those blue eyes and blonde hair and is big and muscular" and "so for him to be a professional football player and NOT have already had sex with plenty of ladies, MUST make him gay". That, combined with the fact that he was bullied in high-school, and that he had a very Christian upbringing in which certain topics were taboo and he COULDN'T talk to his family openly about insecurities, led to him having a serious lack of confidence

For him it's because he was a professional football player and was often called "gay" because was open with people about saving himself, and wouldn't engage in certain demeaning conversations about women... and people seem to have an extremely hard time wrapping their mind around the fact that he, as a blonde haired, blue-eyed, big, muscular guy in the NFL, can be a virgin, so they resort to assuming he's gay. And that combined with the way he was bullied a ton when he was younger, and the way that he was raised in a conservative, Christian home where many things were taboo and they didn't have discussions, allowed him to now, in his 20's, let everything get to him and start asking himself "Wait, everyone has been saying it, and I don't have anyone to talk to this about,... Am I gay?"

Its because he was having an internal struggle with accepting himself. He was trying to be straight and he used the show as a way to convince himself that he could be.
I think he may actually be bisexual. He said he felt in love with Cassie. Also stated he is not emotionally attracted to men. So maybe he is only sexually attracted to men and emotionally attracted to women. He’s never had sex with a woman. Maybe if he tries it once he may then change his mind and think he is bisexual. Only time will tell.

Could this all be done, for fame or not? … Just last year, Colton stated that the three shows the bachelor franchise gave him, helped him realize he was straight; not gay... Now, one year later, he says he’s gay…Could he possibly be confused, or does he really know this time?
I can’t imagine anyone coming out for fame, as I understand it is often very difficult. You pose great thoughts and questions. I would think he would likely be gay, as he finally let himself accept that part of himself. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for reading mine.

Of the bachelor proposals, 11% get marriage while 30% of the bachelorette proposals lead to marriage...Some engagements last the 2 years, just to keep the ring; then they break up... Many will do whatever, just to get that 15 min. of fame, hoping it will lead to big success...It sometimes does. :-)

A show doesn’t confirm a sexuality. My daughter told me she is gay and she is 9. Her elementary school isn’t supportive and moved one nutty child out of her class because she felt Viv is a sinner. Sad. That’s what’s wrong with society.

But he said at ATFR, that he wasn’t going to answer if he was or wasn’t a virgin anymore because Cassie was in the mix now and out of respect to her, he would not answer. Like many Americans, I was brought up with a religion. Mine was Catholic. Since we didn't sacrifice any goats or burn any crops to please God, I began to question the essence of Christianity, the blood sacrifice. Why would God let his Son suffer and die on the cross to atone for the sin in the world? It's really a nutty idea. Yeah, I get that it's ancient, based on traditions that were in cultures long ago, but they did a lot of crazy things. Now we have science to explain things. It doesn't explain why we're here but it's liberating to not have to pretend to know. And without all that baggage, you can be free to explore a lot of other things about yourself and question everything. Keep the things you learned from religion that were the most helpful and meaningful to you. Discard the rest. The Lord won't mind.
