I was looking at the max but it’s going to be too heavy for my fit out. For the extra $300 then what’s on the market I think this is a good price. Especially no poles needed. I’ve returned two Darche 270’ already because of leaking. I’m sold 👍🏼
Thanks Nic I highly rate the bush company awning and have noticed that the bushwakka seems to make suspiciously similar looking products after the bushcompany has done all the original design and building. A&J
Love your solar shields in your windows, I recently purchased a set for a UZJ100 and the quality is fantastic! I’ve been looking for a 270” awning that can withstand some wind and yet not have an arm that would hit my hatch on the 100. This one might work!
It’s a great awning by seeing it on UA-cam only but you are right hinges are everything. I have a “ overlandpros “ 4K and the hinges man is in different level. See my video for more details. Thanks
How can I get a price list I love that 270 do you have a 2023 version and how much it cost could you send me a link or something I have a Ford F-150 I am going to put a rack system on it I have a camper top
Excellent review buddy. We are looking to get this awning. Is the temperature drop noticeable with that outer layer? Has the new among leaked at stitching and what's it like in windy conditions? Thanks again Mick
Thanks Michael. I'm not sure if the new ones have the silver layer on top or if it makes a huge difference. We can only really compare to a kings awning and the difference is incredible so much cooler even on 40plus days. We had the slightest weep from one of the stitches when it first rained before it seasoned itself but all good now. As for wind we have had 0 issue in the wind the awning frame is so strong and as a precaution we peg down and occasionally use a pole if left out over night. Hope that helps A&J
Great review matey, I have the same RTT and am keen on this awning, how did you mount it to the RTT? The blokes at the Bush Co said I couldn’t mount it to the Black Max Did you use L brackets to the channels underneath by any chance?
Thanks Keryn the Bush Company fitted our tent and awning on the car early last year as we bought them together. But we did have several issues with cracking in the tent at the rear corner near the awning so can only assume they are no longer mounting awnings direct to the max tent due to this. They did suggest mounting to a bracket to the rack rather than the tent at one point. But we have recently uprgraded/changed our tent to a new alpha under warranty due to the cracking issues. My advice would be to chat through options with the Bush Company. Hope that helps. A&J
Awesome review! Just wondering how tall you are mate and do you clock your head on the supporting arms at all? Also wondering how well the velcro holds up after a bit of wind? Cheers.
Thanks for watching Chris I am 5"9 my head clears the arms by a fair bit it also depends on your car as we only have small 31inch tyres and a 2 inch lift the awning is also mounted lower to tuck under the tent. Hope that helps. As for the Velcro we have had the wall up in the wind and had no issue with it pealing apart. A&J
One is a kings wall and the other is a wanderer wall from BCF and then we stuck Velcro to them so we can attach to our awning. Hope that helps Leroy. A&J
From memory they are rated to 30kph with no tie downs and they don't rate there max wind resistance but told us to peg the awning to prevent damage to the car and rack rather than the awning itself. They are a true fully self supporting awning, we have had it out in some pretty nasty wind with no issue. But always try peg it down as a precaution. A&J
Yep we have packed it up wet, the way the awning packs down allows for most of the water to bead off before storing and the large zips are apparently designed to allow airflow to blow dry the awning as you drive along. We do use the awning everyday so that normally allows it to dry out further if needed. We have never left it wet for a long period of time.
I paid for another well known brand Aus. Wanted extras but there webpage was not good. Director said he knew webpage was faulty. But his clerk went above his head and cancelled the order and refunded just because of the webpage. They did not do anything for me except rude. I am going bush company. S peg can go away.
Thats a shame for them. From all our experience with the bush company over the last 12 months they have been great to deal with which says a lot about there pride and belief in there product.
Great video, i’ve just organised to get one fitted on my Pajero and can’t wait to use it
For 2 grand, it should cover all back doors completely. That is why it was removed from my list of buys. But it is a very nice simple unit

Awesome review. Still can’t decide between one of these, or the Bushwakka one. Subscribed.

Well done on the review love bush company gear thanks for the video.
Thanks mate. We love the bush company gear aswell.
love a good conclusion
Hi, I like this awning but I would have have liked to see the hinge. Presumably no problem with it’s strength. Cheers

Un bon equipements 😍😍😍
Great review guys. Love the channel. You have a new subscriber here.
Thanks for watching and subscribing Johnny we look forward to putting some more content out.
When the awning is packed away what is the width of the awning (top to bottom) and what is the spacing between extrusions on awning for mounting
Good review, however noticed that your car tyres are on pads. what is the reasoning behind this please.
Thanks Peter glad you enjoyed it.
Good eyes we use our recovery boards to level the car out so we are not sleeping on a angle in the rooftop tent.

@@a.j.overlanding6995 brilliant thanks so much for the reply!!
When can we expect the 'Cooking with Chef Dolphin' spinoff series?
We may give it a go Mr Stewart but we are afraid chef dolphin will not compare to chef spud.
Hey mate where did you get your awning walls from?
One is a kings wall and the other is a wanderer wall from BCF and then we stuck Velcro to them so we can attach to our awning. Hope that helps Leroy.

Hi,can you tell me,please, what's the brand of the 2 chairs ?
The chairs are helinox hiking chairs we have done a review on these chairs on our channel hope that helps.

Great video! How heavy is the awning?
Thanks for watching the awning weight is 27.8kg
What wind speeds is it rated to? Looks more solid then my 30 second awning

A 1kz owner how many kms are you at. I’ve just nudged over 350 thousand
We are also just over the 350k mark and still going strong.
Have you packed it up wet? Does it need to dry out?

what version is this awning? XT Max or just XT Mk II
Ours was the original XT which has been replaced by the XT MK II.
Velcro puts me off especially on the walls, every bit of crap sticks to velcro.
Can't say we have had that problem Velcro still works fine and the only thing that gets stuck is a beanie tha can be pulled of your head.

Why is review not on windy weather? What is the point of so calm days no rain no wind
Believe it or not sadly I don't control the weather. We did mention how happy we are with the awning in the wind and rain.
