I had spent a long time trying to get soy sauce stains out of a cream jumper, the day after it was finally clean I wore it out and ordered ramen 🤦🏻♂️ it went as you’d imagine.
Trouser clips are a good way to go, otherwise have you considered plus-twos/fours (or Breeks)? As these trouser styles are cut to and gathered at the knee, they naturally get less dirt on them than full-length pants. As bicycles became popular during the Victorian and Edwardian periods, you can find a lot of menswear illustrations from the day showcasing men wearing these pant styles while riding a bike!
Most of the white I saw growing up in a snowy area during the winter, white pants could blend you in. However, a lot of winter gear (ski jackets, wool caps, gloves) were totally fine. Great video.
I bought an off-white turtleneck this season and it is fast becoming one of my favourite acquisitions. It goes so well with my camel hair jacket and charocal flannel trousers and suede chukkas. As the father of a toddler however, it is also one of the first things that come off as soon as I walk through the door!😁
I love white sweaters as a mid-layer on cold but sunny winter days. I just find it’s a very striking look for very little effort. And I will admit I also like to bust out my white leather sneakers on very casual days in winter, because it’s not something I otherwise see all that often. In short, I go white in winter when I want to shake things up a little.
I cannot pull off yellow/cream colors with my skin tone, but I've gotten compliments on a thick Banana Republic oatmeal white mock turtleneck I've worn in the winter time for years. I also purchased last month a white quarter zip sweater that looks very good. Oatmeal corduroy pants look very good as well with winter boots. and a navy peacoat, I feel. There is something uplifting about a person who wears a white color in a sea of people wearing dark drab January neutrals. Thank you.
I have a very light grey (I think Stetson calls it "Phantom Grey" or "H3 Lite Grey") "Temple" fedora I like wearing in the winter, with my long black paletot coat. It has a black band, and I even snap it to the side, like the Al Capone picture 😆 I always get compliments in it, and people like that old school gangster look!
As a Brit Labour Day isn’t a thing for me and I was wondering when does it become okay to wear white again? I’ve heard the no white after rule many times but never found an answer to when it’s okay to wear again, if you want to be pedantic the whole year is after labour day until the next one 😂
Dear GG team, what are your thoughts on black formal trousers? Does it have a place in a classic wardrobe or are there better options in similar shades? Thanks.
Black trousers have an unfortunate link to polyester work and school uniforms, so you're probably better off going with the classic separate trouser: gray flannels for winter, and gray high-twist (Fresco) wool for summer
@@gentlemansgazetteThanks for the answer. The two reasons that you mentioned are very volatile, what if they are made of 100% wool and children in my area aren't wearing black trousers to school, does it have a place then? What about charcoal trousers or gray trousers made of polyester?
I love wearing white but only when I'm going out alone, if there's anyone at all near me I wear a white t-shirt at best cuz those stains won't stay away.
@@gentlemansgazette For the most part it's white pleated trousers and a linen shirt or coat depending on the wheather. I think bottoms are far easier to repeat without it being that noticeable.
I never thought of them as warm winter whites before but I love creme/off-white fabrics!
Do you own many pieces in these shades?
The off-white is something I wish I could pull off without spilling nearly everything on it!!

Please give us some tips on wearing classic clothing whilst driving a bicycle. I find it very difficult to keep the trousers clean
Are you wearing trouser metal clips? They help!

Very niceeeee!
Maybe instead of trousers, try chinos, they usually are thighter to the skin
You can try trouser metal clips or tuck your pant cuffs into your socks (the clips would look better to be honest)

Great video.
Good, informative and well spoken.
Most kind, thank you!

That combination sounds effortlessly elegant - bravo!
Thanks for sharing, I love classic menswear. Preston and Raph have the best style imo
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video!
And Jack as well.

I normally wear a White Cable-knit Aran Sweater during the winter
Excellent choice!

The example shown at 0:13 is clearly not true white but creme white.
Please continue to watch the video to hear our thoughts on the differences between "true white" and "winter white" 🙂

I am not sure if I am becoming too slow for the internet or if this video goes too fast. 😢
Last time I was this early for a GG video, I was still wearing my nightcap!
Glad to see you here! Happy to hear you were able to catch the video early 😊
Lords.
The first summer white suit had me until I saw the pants, too tight, unattractive imo!
in civilized countries, labour day is the 1st of may, so plenty of time to wear white after labour day over here! :)
Any reason white and off-white colors can't be enjoyed before Labor Day too? (other than "the rule")
Needlessly over thinking it letting ego and judgement possess
I have no desire to wear white, period.
Ah yes, the period. I understand now why you wouldn't want to wear white.
