Honestly I came across this as I’m looking to downgrade unfortunately soon so I’m trying to look for some cheaper/decent options and I’m loving this 3.6 v6, thing sounds mean and looks pretty quick with some bolt ons and a tune of course. I've been in love with this car's exhaust since I saw the first video you put up. I want to do it to mine, but I have the CTS A6 and not sure it'll sound as good :/
What year? I'm pretty sure it'll sound very similar. Worst case scenario you spend a couple hundred dollars more and throw on some rear mufflers (I just installed Flowmaster Hushpower II's to quiet it down since I have a baby coming next week).
It's a '12. I was thinking about removing the resonator in middle of the car and replacing it with an x-pipe, then straight pipes to factory mufflers. Where the exhaust pipe bends from the center of the car to the outsides, near the rear diff, adding electric cutouts. That way it can be quiet if needed, or like yours when I want. Do you have any pics of the underside of the car?

96LS1S10 Unofrtuntaely I don’t have pictures of underneath anymore. But that actually sounds like a great idea, I wish I had done that looking back at it all. Was thinking about doing that, in which I still might do so eventually.

Would this muffler setup still sound the same as on a 2011 cts 3.6 ?
What size tips you have on? I added flowmaster hp2s and an xpipe and the drone is unbearable at times. I had them keep the stock tips and idk if maybe I should have went with something wider and perhaps a little longer

I got a res delete replaced it with an x pipe and exhaust cutouts right before the muffler and I have a ton of drone and too much rasp what can I do to get ride of the rasp and drone? Do I add dynomax race bullet, cherry bombs?

Do you have any links to the parts you used? I'm mostly interested in the 2.5" straight pipes for the muffler delete. That car sounds absolutely amazing.
AirWolf60 It was custom piping from the shop I went to. Everything including powder coated tips was $450 out the door for all parts and labor for the exhaust.

any opinion on if a 08 CTS 3.6 DI will sound similar? i cut out the mufflers but im hesitant on the x pipe doubting if it will sound to much like a tin can

Any sound difference from before and after tune? I have my muffler deleted on same car and want to replace the res with an x pipe like you did. You think if I added the x pipe and add Dyno bullets I would get a nice sound ?
Aaron Gordon No difference in sound. Tune just allowed me to raise the RPMs. First half of the video was when the car was tuned. Second half was after it went back to stock. To answer your question, yes the x pipe will make the difference. The mufflers will just alter the amount of sound and the tone slightly. I think it’ll sound good 👌🏽

Aaron Gordon I went with aFe. Definitely added more sound coming from the front. It just depends on what you want. With all my mods (not as much as I was going to do before I blew my motor in January), I gained 6whp and 22wtq.

Unfortunately I don’t know, if I remember he used a custom built x pipe. Exhaust, CAI and tune I gained 10 whp and 25 wtq

JSJ 86 Do it. My exhaust was the same set up before and after it blew. Some of the video was with the tune, but most of it was without it, after it blew.
@@mhauserman yea I've looked into it and will be taking it to a shop to get the work done. Still need to order the afe momentum cold air filter.

How bad was the drone at cruising speed? Looking to do the same set up with my ats and maybe add dynomax bullets later or helmholz resonators.
It used to not bother me, but now that I have a kid, the drone is obnoxious. However I installed flow master HP2’s and did a secondary cat delete and now I’m good!
