I mean... How many bug types and quiver dance mons are actually good in ou? Volcarona was banned at one point in gen 9, but other than that? Being good in lower tiers isn't worth writing about
17:05 - Fun Fact: Clagorous Soul is considered a Dance move... Not a lot of people are aware of this giving it a great surprise factor on top of an additional Omni Boost to an Oricorio, whether it be from a Teammate or Opponent Kommo-o.
@@determineddaaf3 it can be downright broken even in OU, if the opponent doesn't go for Taunts or Fake Outs turn 1 (which can be countered) you basically sweep the entire match. Since Oricorio can also learn Tailwind, a Turn 1 Quiver Dance from a Volcarona or Lilligant and Tailwind from Oricorio you'll be outspeeding even most Swift Swimmers. Run Firey Dance on Volcarona for the chance to raise SpAtk more or Petal Dance on Lilligant for large base damage (run Own Tempo to never be confused) and it allows Oricorio to attack twice in one turn. As well Oricorio's Revelation Dance acts like a better Tera Blast, the move's typing it decided by the user's Primary Typing so on base it'll have one of the 4 Oricorio Form's Type (Psychic, Fire, Electric, and imo the best Ghost) but then if you Tera the Oricorio its Rev-Dance will become its Tera Type. Have Ghost Oricorio to ignore Fake Outs, then Tera Ground when the opponent sends in an Electric Type suddenly having their attack nullified and hit with a 90 base power stab +1 special ground move...
@@determineddaaf3 welp... I had a whole detailed comment typed out but now it's gone. 😑 I ain't typing all that again so, Oricorio can be busted even in OU. It learns Tailwind so you can Turn 1 Quiver Dance + Tailwind in Doubles at outspeed damn near everything, then use Firey Dance or Pedal Dance so you get 3 attacks in 1 turn.

I will never forget the feeling I experienced when I was playing Gen 7 doubles only to see my opponent lead with a Skitty and an Eevee, then proceeded to watch as my entire team got taken out by a simple beam boosted extreme evoboost baton passed onto a Mimikyu.
the shell smash set i typically see with cloyster in showdown was smash, explosion, icicle spear, and rock blast with skill link (that's the real thing that puts cloyster over the edge with shell smash is the combo with skill link), but there's one other z move that's an extreme booster, but it's only available on a few mons: z-celebrate. it gives an omniboost and the thing i saw it on most in gen 7 randoms was malamar, since the omniboost ignores contrary and that sets up for a deadly sweep with one superpower essentially already done. unless the malamar was staring down the barrel of first impression or some other bug move from something faster, there's limited counterplay to it and it's a poor man's version of having to use a turn to set up any other extreme boosting move.
I kinda wish they had at least given an honorable mention to Growth while in Sunlight. Getting a double boost to both attacking stats, while not as meaningful as some of the other extreme boosts, is still worthy of representation. 🌞🌱
Eevee having a niche in Ubers just for the sake of Baton Passing stat boost is frickin hilarious! Now, think you guys could do a video on recovery moves. Absorb, Recover, Mega drain, etc.
Clangorous soul has another unique property to it, where it will activate the throat spray held item when used. Meaning you get a +1 to all stats and another +1 to its special attack. At which point clanging scales, flash cannon and boomburst all go insane-o mode.
The nod to bulk up in coil was pretty cool. LOVE all the information and facts Pokemon is such a diverse and so many little details that can have huge impact. Great video thank you!
Pokemon set up moves are broken and i have been saying this for a while but many don't seem to care. Those moves that Boost the stats by 2 stages or many by 1 should have some kind of restriction but they don't
Extreme Evoboost mention 🎉 In VGC I liked using it next to simple beam smeargle for an omni +4 boost. Great fun. I've shifted over to using it in NatDex doubles.
Coil was good on VGC Milotic sets in some gens because it boosted its defense (when its special defense was its better stat). Combine that new bulk with more accurate Hypnosis (which we saw how devastating its boosted accuracy was in Gen 4), and it was a relatively solid pick.
Something to note about Coil was how terrifying Milotic was using it in VGC. Milo used to spam hypnosis because of that accuracy boost. It was never meta defining but it was super irritating
While not canon, I played a fan game with a regional form of milotic that swaps it's attack and special attack stats and becomes a poison fairy type, it's great at using coil throw around gunk shots and play roughs
There's a couple other moves that, when used with a Z-Crystal, would also become extreme boosting moves. The two examples I can think of on the spot: - Splash. Yep, that's not a joke. Z-Splash would actually increase the user's Attack stat by 3 stages! Although I fancied it for some meme movesets (e.g. physical Mantine), no Pokemon really made competitive use of it, given they either didn't have a good physical attack and movepool to begin with, already had access to good physical boosting moves, or didn't have the bulk required to successfully set-up for one turn. - Acupressure. On top of increasing a random stat by 2 stages, Z-Acupressure would also increase the user's critical hit ratio by 2 stages. On Drapion especially, this was pretty powerful because he had access to the Sniper ability and had an increased hit ratio move for both of his STABs, making him reach a 100% crit ratio for 2.25 times more damage. If you were lucky, you'd land on the Attack stat and deal 4.5 times more damage, or you'd land on the Speed stat and essentially have a double Dragon Dance.
I love using soul blaze z-clanging scales in nat dex, even though it was almost impossible getting it going. Id say something dumb in chat just before the second boost like its morbing time or this is to go even further beyond.
Honorable mention to Magnetic Flux. It only boosts both defenses, but it can boost the defenses of both you and your partner. One move would essentially giving +4 to your pokemon.
rip No Retreat, was left off the list giving a +5 to the user with the downside of being unable to switch out. But as always another amazing video FSG.
After learning of the existence of Fell Stinger, I have decided to hop onto the Almost Any Ability ladder with a Moxie Fell Stinger Overqwil, in an attempt to get a +4 attack boost off 1 kill. Wish me luck
Another extreme boosting move is No Retreat, the signature move of Falinks wich gives an omniboost with the drawback that you cannot switch once the move is activated.
Perhaps the next theorem video could be why move sets (like mix attacking, fast physical, bulky special, etc) are close to everything or the Dragonite theorem
Lead Drizzle Pelipper and Orthworm with Coil and Iron Tail if I want to stay in, Shed Tail if I want to switch to Drednaw with Swift Swim. Set up Shell Smash behind the substitute from Shed Tail. And have fun.
My favorite answer to insane boosts is a cheesy Marshadow set with focus sash, spectral thief, and shadow sneak. Live the hit, steal the stats, blow it over.
You missed one detail: coil milotic. It used it a lot to keep its defence up and also boost accuracy for high accuracy hypnosis! Sometimes even making milotic use physical moves (especially dragon tail even on special sets), but quite often still using special moves. This does mean it doesn't use the physical attack stat boost as much, but it is worth mentioning for sure! (Maybe you can even pin this as extra information to your video?)

@@PixieDiamondDew like the other comment you awnsered wrote, toxtricity already is what you describe, since it gives a 1,3x boost to sound moves + half damage from them, making it also a resist version of soundproof instead of immune. You could just do the protean/libero thing, where the ability does the same thing, just changes the name. Have nice day/night. Also sorry if i'm late
These thumbnails are to FREAKING GOOOOD
You missed No Retreat on Falinks, can't believe you did my boys dirty like that.
Yeah
I think it's broken in showdown but in the regular games I destroyed falinks
Nowadays we can relive the horror of amnesia sweeps with iron-press. It's not quite as extreme but it deinitely scratches the itch.
0:32 The Silver Wind erasure...
Are hybrid attackers who want both Attack and Special a thing in competitive play?
other extreme boosting options
z-happy hour/z-celebrate, no retreat, z-mirror move(sometimes)
doubles self target beatup + justified/stamina. doubles soul heart, doubles beast boost/moxie
Coil (the band) mentioned!! For anyone checking them out check out their song "Triple Sun". My personal favorite of theirs
This channel will never run out of content as long as pokemon will exist
Did not expect the Coil shoutout! Love their Albums to Play in the Dark!
The nod to bulk up in coil was pretty cool.
LOVE all the information and facts Pokemon is such a diverse and so many little details that can have huge impact.
Great video thank you!
Tail glow is such a broken move.
Imagine a mon with like 120+ speed with that move and a half decent special stab. Sp Attack Stat wouldn’t even need to be high
Yet I hope chaps like Ampharos or Lumineon get it XD
@@kefkapalazzo1or prankster
Ghost type prankster with thunder wave and decent speed, then give it hex with tail glow, somethings gonna be really hurting after that
Pokemon set up moves are broken and i have been saying this for a while but many don't seem to care.
Those moves that Boost the stats by 2 stages or many by 1 should have some kind of restriction but they don't
Extreme Evoboost mention 🎉
In VGC I liked using it next to simple beam smeargle for an omni +4 boost. Great fun. I've shifted over to using it in NatDex doubles.
Man, I haven't seen the Evo Boost animation in years.
Coil was good on VGC Milotic sets in some gens because it boosted its defense (when its special defense was its better stat). Combine that new bulk with more accurate Hypnosis (which we saw how devastating its boosted accuracy was in Gen 4), and it was a relatively solid pick.
15:52 exactly what happened to me once in a Gen 7 OU tournament LOL
Something to note about Coil was how terrifying Milotic was using it in VGC. Milo used to spam hypnosis because of that accuracy boost. It was never meta defining but it was super irritating
The thumbnail is so fucking good ! Never thought someone would put Tanjiro's mark on my boï's forehead !
No reference to no retreat? Rip my boys...
While not canon, I played a fan game with a regional form of milotic that swaps it's attack and special attack stats and becomes a poison fairy type, it's great at using coil throw around gunk shots and play roughs
15:44 in the Drayano hacks regular bee drill has high attack and technician so it’s a great fell sting sweeper
There's a couple other moves that, when used with a Z-Crystal, would also become extreme boosting moves. The two examples I can think of on the spot:
- Splash.
I particularly liked Z-Splash, I thought it was really funny
LOVE the drum n bass background music.
Simple + Extreme Evoboost + Stored Power / Power Trip = TOTAL DESTRUCTION
Volcarona with the demon slayer mark is a peak thumbnail 😂
Gen 6/7 random battles quiver dance butterfree made me so happy so often. Gave me a soft spot for it
11:07 eelektross hitting those 100% accurate zap cannons
we gotta get a "how great was knock off actually ?" Great video like always
Volcarona has become my go to fire type in any game it is in, especially if it's insurgence,
In vgc I used simple beam latias into dondozo with tatsugiri to get +4 in every stat
two incineroar switches and prankster haze:
@@SkillHunterThousandManPlan I never said it was good lol
ancient power, silver wind, ominous wind boosts for all. such wonderful text
Wasn't expecting a sponsor from the phone I'm currently using lmao, I love the brand since I started with the 8 pro
I love using soul blaze z-clanging scales in nat dex, even though it was almost impossible getting it going. Id say something dumb in chat just before the second boost like its morbing time or this is to go even further beyond.
what a flex on the melee phone
FSG loading up triple dark HO @1:12 lmao love that team
With all the crap Bug types have to deal with, it’s only fair that they get access to one of the best boosting moves in the game.
“Magearna doesnt use the attack boost, so its basically Agility”
*Laughs in Stored Power*
Cloyster always deserved some kind of hilarious strategy. I love that crazy clam lol
Honorable mention to Magnetic Flux. It only boosts both defenses, but it can boost the defenses of both you and your partner. One move would essentially giving +4 to your pokemon.
Gen 20: every mon gets a move that boosts +6 in all stats
I think the one thing we can learn from this video is that dancing is powerful and should not be underestimated.
This was the beggining of the eevee review we are long awaiting (maybe just me, but still xD)
H-Lilligant 🤝 Falinks
Being Fighting Types with a Signature Boosting Move, but being too weak to truly take advantage of it
I’m surprised that Belly Drum was never mentioned considering you max out your attack at the cost of half your hp
0:13
It wasnt even 20 second in the video bro
Pokemon Masters mentioned, instant subscribe
rip No Retreat, was left off the list giving a +5 to the user with the downside of being unable to switch out. But as always another amazing video FSG.
After learning of the existence of Fell Stinger, I have decided to hop onto the Almost Any Ability ladder with a Moxie Fell Stinger Overqwil, in an attempt to get a +4 attack boost off 1 kill. Wish me luck
u ever kick ball through brick wall?
2:03 You should do a slippi ranked session on this phone and see if anybody quits out haha
So basically
Extreme Evoboost Eevee baton passes to Bidoof with ability simple raises all its stats by 4!!
God Bidoof will become canon.
Seeing the picture of Volcarona in the thumbnail made me realize how much its head looks like General Grievous
Fell Stinger is one of my favourite moves 😂
0:33 and silver wind 😢
Lead Drizzle Pelipper and Orthworm with Coil and Iron Tail if I want to stay in, Shed Tail if I want to switch to Drednaw with Swift Swim. Set up Shell Smash behind the substitute from Shed Tail. And have fun.
My name is Falinks and I will NOT retreat!
Babe wake up, new False Swipe dropped but I slept for like 12
hours so I’m a day late
My Poor Falinks, such a cool boosting move in No Retreat, such a shame it isn't good enough to use it very well.
10:56 DAMN, YA'LL DIDN'T NEED TO DO VELUZA LIKE THAT 💀💀💀 IT HAS HAD ENOUGH BEING UNTIERED
Imagine if Slither Wing got Victory Dance to complete it’s “physical Volcarona” game.
*A wild Demon Slayer Reference appeared!*
Give that thumbnail artist a raise, this is 🔥
Did we just get half a second of a face reveal during that spondership segment? During the part apart the built in fan.
Hmm. Lot more examples of these big boosting moves than I thought, especially in the newer generations
Meanwhile Minimize is crying in the corner, too great to see play at all.
9:28
I sharted
Volcarona: So what you're telling me is that all i have to do is dance and I can become dangerous?
I love sweeping teams with a Quiver Dance Volcarona.
in gen 1 amnesia was basically a double calm mind.
What about a video of boosting abilities? Intrepid Sword, Moxie, Commander, etc.
Did you reverse the mega animations for kommo o and eevee? I heard nintendo copyright strikes those if u didnt. Also sad that z splash was not included:(
