- One of the most epic cutscenes from "Star Trek Online". K'Valk performing a Klingon War Song originally heard in an episode of "Deep Space 9".
NeonBerZerKer provided an english translation of the lyrics. Special thanks for doing so!
"Hear! Sons of Kahless
Hear! Daughters too.
The blood of battle washes clean.
The Warrior brave and true.
We fight, we love, and then we kill.
Our lives burn short and bright.
Then we die with honor and join our
fathers in the Black Fleet where we
battle forever, battling on through
the Eternal fight."
Enjoy!
First, K'Valk was a true Klingon.
Second the music takes this rendition to the next level...that and K'Valk's smooth baritone. There needs to be a rendition with the full musical backing.
This cutscene was so deep the game decided to show me it twice. Did you know that it's unskippable?
1 upvote = 1 honor
It was so that you would not forget him. Game was like "but if i show you this once you will forget it in few days but if i show u this twice you will not forget it"
mm yes iv just had it do that for me as well, wonderful.
You can't help but salute this scene. Going out in a blaze of glory, sacrificing himself to open a weakness (or show, remember; the encounter with the Enterprise was deemed classified). Q'apla K'valk.
*Taps hand to shoulder then clenches fist* Qapla'
One of my favorite missions in the game.
K'Valk, you the real MVP.
Mine too. Especially since the devs remastered this episode.
Too bad, I can't continue with the story with my ship underpowered as it is. It was just getting good with the Iconian story arc.
+Almighty Doge "She was an overworked, underpowered vessel, always on the verge of flying apart at the seams."
But she was home.
Ciro Canite The USS Badass......hmm....memories.
the mvp of the Klingon people that is hehe K'valk being a Klingon badass since his age of ascension
This is the one time this anthem was truly done justice... and the one time, I suppose, it truly was a good day to die.
K'Valk is easily one of the best Klingons in STO. His conviction and morals were a great statement about true honor. And facing his fate SINGING at the end. I hope I can face my end half as well one day.
I sang along. Call me too nerdy, but I did.
You're not alone.
Hear! Sons of Kahless!
Hear! Daughters too!
The blood of battle washes clean
The warrior brave and true
TlhIngan Mah!
Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam.
Translation (for you Federation dogs):
We are Klingon!
Today is a good day to die!
Also did try and sing it as well. A bit difficult to keep up at times. (First time trying to sing a Klingon song)
A nice trip to Sto-vo-kor!
This and "Temporal Ambassador" are my two favorite STO levels.
Ah yes, the Klingon War chant I've heard many times throughout Star Trek. I usually sing it when I feel as though shit's about to go down. Qapla'!
Hear! Sons of Kahless.
Hear! Daughters too.
The blood of battle washes clean
the warrior brave and true.
We fight, we love, and then we kill.
Our lives burn short and bright.
Then we die with honor and join our fathers in the Black Fleet where
we battle forever, battling on through the Eternal Fight.
That's most likely the only English translation of the song that Kvalk sings that fits quite well. Anyways Qpla and Die well K'valk.
I didnt realize I was invested in the characters in this game until K'valk pulled this. I was touched.
Of all the souls I've encountered in my travels... HIS was the most... badass!
May you find honor and glory in the halls of Stovokor, K'Valk. Q'apla.
I like how the background music syncs up with the K'Valk's singing. It makes it that little bit more epic.
I am really glad this was uploaded. At the time i played it, my sound was mute and as i noticed what was happening, i missed most of this epic part.
Song is not originally from DS9, it's actually from a game called Star Trek: Klingon, it made it's way into DS9 and then to STO. Still a great song.
its* way, not it's way !! Learn to spell
From seven years ago !! Learn to read !!
I blame my iPad’s auto-correct, it does that to me all the time.
I just finished this mission and this was the best part of it.
I am a Terran turned Federation officer. And I respect that man.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Season 5, Episode 21: Soldiers of the Empire.
I'm glad I have almost all the DS9 seasons on DVD at times like this.
Commodore Decker ran a shuttle into the the mouth of the Planet Killer in the TOS episode Doomsday Machine, then when his ship was inside the Planet Killer, the USS Constellation detonated by Captain Kirk, rendering it dead.
i just played this mission and had to watch this again XD
This cutscene makes me happy I can't skip it.
i dunno if i posted this here or on another video but this came up on my recommended again so meh ill say it again:
i KNOW im not the only klingon fan that started singing along and smacking his arms down during this scene
+AnvilMAn603 No.
Excellent, thanks a lot!
I'll add this to the video's description :)
Gänsehautfeeling, Quapla !
This was awesome!
Most awesome... game... cutscene... ever... I have to memorize that song :P
I did, and can still remember it 3 years later
He weakened the machine, so we could destroy it.
"Hear sons of Kahless" is the name of the song translated to English.
The best part about this scene? The devs didn’t originally plan for the song to appear in the mission, Marc Biagi knew the song and got it into the mission, even more reason why K’valk is a Klingons Klingon
Speaking as my Dominion War veteran Starfleet Captain, I would have nominated this guy for a decoration. He's the kind of warrior the Empire - and the Federation - would need in order to defend the Alpha Quadrant against threats like the Borg and the Undine and the [REDACTED], to say nothing of ending J'mpok's goddamn stupid war.
I bet when he entered the gates of Sto-vo-kor that Kahlees himself was there to guide him to the afterlife after this sacrifice
May he know eternal glory in Sto'vo'Kor. Qapla'!
If anyone is interested, I can speak Klingon (kinda sad I know, but nevermind). The translation is:
Hear! Sons of Kahless
Hear! Daughters too.
The blood of battle washes clean.
The Warrior brave and true.
We fight, we love, and then we kill.
Our lives burn short and bright.
Then we die with honor and join our
fathers in the Black Fleet where we
battle forever, battling on through
the Eternal fight.
Went down like a true Klingon.
Thats one of the best momments in the game
This mission is a pain but this part makes up for it
We need more Klingons like K'Valk.
remember this old one
...Needs to be a ringtone.
very epicness ending missi in episode one, the song is great^^
It's because of this scene I wanted to play a Klingon. Haven't looked back since.
"stay where you are, captain, i'll handle this!"
that nav beacon made it all better
He was a true Klingon warrior.
Best character ever, that all
When I first played this mission I wanted so much to sing this along with K'Valk. I know, sad. I just love Klingons! Qapla'!
Qoy qeylIs puqloD,
Qoy puqbe'pu'.
yoHbogh matlhbogh je SuvwI',
Say'moHchu' may' Iw.
That was one of the best gaming moments in my life. Q'Uapla
Too short! Wished it could be at least 1 minutes.
I love the song, the words make no sense, but the tune, its quite awesome.
actually Klingon is a legit language, very complex, but a real language. This song does have a rough english translation.
+Shadowaries1 I meant i didn't know what it meant, but i know the language is real and that there is a english translation, i just don't know klingon at all.
+Shadowaries1 not a legit language a made up language
Shaheem Osborne It is a real language though. People do actually speak it albeit its far, and few, and not common, but people do indeed speak it.
Has anyone done a remix of the song yet?
Yeah...
EPIC
KVak died well he will rest on Stovokore
duh-nuh...duh-nuh...duh-nuh...duh-nuh...duh-nuh...duh-nuh...duh-nuh...duh-nuh...
You know, this is actually kinda my favorite rendition of this song. The one in DS9 seemed rather, weak and tuneless compared to this one. I imagine the background score is helping him, but he has a power and rythm to his singing that they didn't.
what was the name of the song though?
I say Good Luck in Klingon
now to kill that doomsday device with honor!
I really wish I could have gotten this far but the Klingon storyline is so glitchy on the xbox one.
Ulfrekr Fjolvarson this isn't the klingon storyline, it"s the fleet one
If you have a good enough PC play it on that...it plays really well
Qapl'a! May your heart join your Ancestors on the Black Fleet in Sto'va'kor!
then get off my bridge, security escort this klingon hater to the nearest airlock and put a red shirt on him
I made my first video tonight with stills from this mission, what do you think? Any good?
/watch?v=C6Q0tdTEUDo&feature=player_embedded
no worries dude, I'm fluent lol.
Quapla' batlh'je!
A sacrifice ! Not a suicide.
Sounds like a japanese Kamikaze pilot singing a war song.
the voice acting and the random hand movements really suck in this game.
For a second I thought he'd just die meaninglessly and his sacrifice would be played as dark humor. But I guess bad edgy writing is afraid of Klingons and stays away from them.
lol
Hahaha that achieved nothing and no one even said anything about what he did for the rest of the game I laugh my ass of when this happend
