I got my first one and I have a fairly high pain tolerance but I will say it wasn't fun in the slightest
That could be significantly diminished, the pain, by just a few interventions.
Right! This patient did a great job. Even with the freeze spray, it’s painful. I don’t want lidocaine for it, either, because lidocaine burns like a MF, too!
See if you can switch to Brixadi! I’ve been on Brixadi since October. I made the switch from Sublocade 300mg and had absolutely no issues. It’s far less painful, to say the least.
@@AnniePaige-iq5qp, done properly, Lidocaine injections need NOT burn like a MF.
The injection itself is painful and causes a burning sensation and leaves a medication deposit which can last 30+ days but should eventually go away (sometimes it needs to be surgically removed). The medication for me has worked great, highly recommend to others looking to transition from daily Suboxone tablet use.
I cried and broke out in an intense sweat and felt tingly. It was awful!!!
@@raeronda30yea it’s not good! I’m so sorry babygirl
@@raeronda30 I find when you get the injection, try focus on your breathing or wiggling your toes. I don't like to talk when i get mine done because i focus on my breathing and if its really painful i start wiggling my toes. It helps for me, next time try it and see how you go. Also, the nurses who give you the injection should not be doing it really quickly, the slower they go, the less it hurts.
Saw everything except what I needed. I want to see if they aspirate the needle.
I take this injection and it's Absolutely Awesome, I recommend anyone who is struggling with this to try it.😊
Does it hurt badly?
@@MrN75nokiayou’ll
Never ever quit with that mindset
It does hurt really bad. It’s a burning sensation, as if acid was being injected in your skin. I had one shot now on my way to my second shot. I’ve been icing my stomach until I get it this time. They won’t use novacane, I asked for it but they declined.
It's really nothing. And if it hurts, it's only painful for like a second. The pain is nothing compared to the withdrawals of, in my case, oxycodone. I'm on the monthly now, which means the injection is only every 30 days or so, instead of every week. You'll get used to it and if not, you're either not in a misuse and don't know pain OR just wanna continue the misuse and not get the help. Stop saying it's the worst, man. There's so many other things that hurts even worse. Any addict should agree on this.
Im having my 2nd injection tomorrow. It is amazing i can live my live and not feel like i need anything.
Yeah, I've been on mine for a while now, it is a lot better being on a once a month injection instead of taking suboxone medication daily. I felt like taking suboxone was like being on a roller coaster, cause it felt like it was constantly going up and down, whereas being on the sublocade is keeping you at a consistent level. Plus you're not having to worry about it as much and you can focus on other things in your life.
The only downside to the injection is the pain, cause it causes a stinging pain because of the medication, as soon as it's administered into your body the medication starts to harden which is why you get a burning or stinging pain. When I get mine, i prefer them to do it around my lower stomach because you have more fatty tissue there and it doesn't hurt as bad, whereas if they go higher up, like above your belly button it stings more because there isn't as much tissue there. If you ever want any questions or info, you're more than welcome to send me a message or talk to your doctor at the clinic you go to, that should always be a first anyways. Hope everything is going well with your treatment! ;)
@@TheChelzin8or yeah I know exactly what you mean. I've been injected in my left and my right arm now. Next time I'll ask for the stomach like you said. Been going great thanks hope you've been well off the treatment to 👍
Can I take the injection at home? Or do I need to see a Dr ?
It has to be administered at a medical officer by a medical professional.
My doctors injection was in like half that amount of time you did yours… can it very for how quickly it’s injected?
There are two different doses/volumes of Sublocade. One is 3x the volume and dose of the other.
Yeah it's about the dosis.
I got my first shot 3 days ago. Is it normal for the my stomach to hurt really bad. It’s hot to the touch and red. Is it suppose to be like that?
yes that happens sometimes
Are you feeling better now?
Yes, sometimes when I get mine it goes a bit red and can sometimes be itchy, it will eventually go away, it normally just happens after you've got the injection and the next day.
Been on the sublacade injection 300mg for 4 years now need someone to talk to in a similar situation feel alone in it will I ever be allowed to come off or am I stuck on it for the rest of my life will life ever go back to before the heroine or is it true things can’t go back this drug helps a lot yes but I want everything back to normal going to the doctor for the injections every month reminds me of all traumatic memories
Apparently there is tons of anecdotal research online saying sublacade creates a self taper. So in theory you can keep lowering your dose each shot until you're off.
Got to 100mg shot for three 3 months and then just stop
@@user-gg8is9yh9q So you only took the shot a single time at 100 mg? Or you did a shot every month for three months? So a total of three shots? Sorry I'm just trying to understand what works.
See how long you can go before your next shot. Keep pushing it. If you are on the lowest dose and are still feeling really sick at the end of the month supplement with sub pills under the tongue.
4 year's
The viewers could not see the actual injection being administered??? 😭
What size needle do you use for this
19 gauge. Brixadi is 23 gauge--much smaller.
Can’t see anything with the angle or the camera not helpful
Oh my. I have been on subs for 4 years and am now being offered the shot. But this made me 2nd guess it. I'm skinny and have literally no fat on my stomach. This will suck it looks like. Does it burn like missing a Meth shot cuz if so I'm not going to do it. F that. I'll keep taking nasty strips.
There's now an alternative to Sublocade called Brixadi, which is also once a month. Benefits include numerous injection site options, tiny needle, small fluid volume (less than 1 ml), and no bump. Our patients are loving the Brixadi option.
Use BUPRENORPHINE MUCH BETTER THEN THE STRIPS
TABLES THAT YOU PUT UNDER YOUR TONGUE. THE TASTE IS NOT THAT BAD LIKE THE STRIPS
@@DavidDeyhimy_MDAre you administering these shots or in an office that does? Maybe you could help me. I have a lot of questions…
Brixadi is your solution. New alternative to Sublocade. No abdominal bump. Tiny needle. Multiple injection site options. Much less painful.
How do you taper off brixadi?
I take the injection monthly it doesn't work, lasts 9 days and then body needs more. suboxone strips work better
What dose of suboxone were u at and how long before first injection
Does it hurt?
I'm on 12mg Suboxone twice a day. The oral Strips. My uncle takes Suboxone but only 8mg and takes only half a day. He is going to be getting this medication Sublocade. I myself been on Suboxone for over 7 years. Im 37 bytheway
Mine hurt considerably more and left a giant welt and bruise the size of an egg
Hey man did the medicine work are you sick any
@@dustinhagy1546I took my 1st shot yesterday big egg not hurts bad but no sickness it was too strong at beginning yesterday but I slept woke up today and feel great after being up 30 min
Sorry but is it subcutaneous or IM please?
