Excellent soundtrack. It is the first time I feel that a music brings strength to a Maya Deren's film ... often I need to remove the added music not to be disturbed, but in your case, it really creates a structure and a tension, a sense of unresolved chords or cadences that keeps the attention moving forward, and albeit the timbres you use might not be completely congruent with a film from the 40's, I think it makes it really atemporal.
Thank you all for the phenomenal response to this project, I truly wasn't expecting it when I scored this a couple of years back. For anyone interested in downloading/buying the soundtrack, it can be found on my bandcamp page.. Just follow this link; julianjalexandermusic.bandcamp.com/track/witchs-cradle
When the title header says "Original Soundtrack" .. one thinks that it's the soundtrack that accompanied the film The Witch's Cradle (1943), ... NOT "An Original Composition" by YOU Jules Alexander. This can easily be mis-read by folks and they're gonna think that they're hearing the music from 1943. Just sayin' Jules ~~ Lol !!!
I was actually thinking the same thing just now when I was re-reviewing some old videos. I'll change it round in a bit to avoid confusion. Glad you enjoyed it Ken, I really appreciate the feedback!
Wow, what a fantastic score! Thank you for adding another layer of meaning and atmosphere to Maya Deren's film.
Thanks Chris!!
