This video has pretty good (not great) information for those who do not know the history of Uechi ryu. Or have read many different (though similar) versions of the history. So please bear with me while I critique the 'video' itself. (Cause I woke up in that kind of crappy mood - my apologies for those with thin skin and on the hate bandwagon. Not trying to offend) This video left out the specific reason Kanbun left China and why he didn't want to teach for some years. And how he was really convinced by Ryuyu Tomoyose to teach again. Also missing is when the name was changed from Pangainoon to Uechi ryu. But as for the video itself, the calypso music in the background is distracting as is the A.I. voice mispronouncing certain simple words. Too many videos these days are using it and it's annoying. I'd rather hear a human voice. Also, I found the old film filter annoying and unnecessary. Especially when used with modern video (even though there is no correlation with the narration, but I get it). The old film filter serves no purpose. And the in your face "Like and Subscribe" popping up 3 times was also annoying. But as I stated from the beginning, this is a decent basic informational video of the founder of Uechi ryu. The internet is full of historical versions of Uechi ryu. And books as well.
Wow, I loved your comment. I wasn't offended, I actually really liked it. Sorry about the filter, I just love old movies. As I was talking about a master who lived in ancient times... I'm 52 years old, now that I'm learning to work with editing and PC, it's a new world for me, sometimes I make a lot of mistakes, sorry, but I love martial arts, even though I don't practice (laziness). PS: I don't know how to speak English very well, that's why the AI voice. Welcome to the channel, hugs.
Hey, I was curious, what was the reason Kanbun left China and why he didn't want to teach for a few years and how was he convinced by Ryuyu Tomoyose to teach again? I didn't find this information in my searches
@@THEWISDOMOFTHEEAST I have replied twice in detail, with links as well, but do not see my answer to you. Check your comments 'held for review' in studio. In a nutshell, one of Kanbun's students killed a man over irrigation dispute and he vowed never to teach again.
Awesome!
Thank you very much, welcome to the channel

Uechi Kanbun didn't want to teach again in okinawa because one ofe his former students in china accidentally killed someone in a brawl
