Thanks Eric. Your review helped show a difference way of looking at this product.. There is two things people should know. 1. In your own words this product is designed for spot cooling not small spaces.
2. The space the unit will cool down is given in sq feet which is describing a flat plane. They need to tell us how many cubit feet it will cool down which describes a room size.
I would still consider this unit for 2 reasons.
1. Spot cool would work for me.
2. The low power consumption.
The only big negative is the price.
@@lisahertel2415 ; That’s some increase, wow. The AC unit and two batteries = $1900.00 with Erics discount of $50.00, but it’ll probably be taxed as well.🤦♂️
Looks like the company is sending these out to a bunch of RV UA-camrs. Already seen several do "reviews" of this thing.
I like the idea of an RVer being honest than a smoke n mirrors ad.
They give them to the rich and the poor suffer watching stupid videos
I have know a vanner who has one and although he didn’t hit hot Florida weather. He was pleased with it
Hey just a reminder. Don’t ever have a fan, AC or on open car window blowing directly on your face or neck for extended periods of time. Had a brother that had an ac unit level with his bed. Had ac blowing directly on his face and neck for extended periods of time and developed Bell’s palsy on his face. Recoverable but it was quite devastating to him. Thanks for the awesome info on the ac unit.
This is a must have for van dwellers.....one of the first of many I'm sure, but it's about time!!! Celebrate The Chill !!!!
That airconditioner seems like a great design.
Speaking from experience with my huge household portable airconditioner, duel exhausts would be a great improvement. They'd help to get the hot air out more quickly than a single exhaust, thus reducing heat dissipating back out of the tubes into the house (or RV).
It's not dual exhaust. One is the exhaust, the other is the intake.
That's why he was saying, make sure to place the exhaust hose above the air intake hose, because heat rises.
This little portable AC is $1,500.
@@RedRider1600
Oh, OK. Thanks.
Perhaps they should make one with dual exhaust, to reduce the back-pressure from the air outlet. In theory, it would allow better air flow with slightly less energy to run it.
Eric, thank you for your detailed review - it's giving me a lot to think about. If I can make it work with my lithium battery, then I think I might spring for the basic AC unit.
Only in this video today did I realize Opie all growed up!
Could you cut another small hole in the retro fit panel for the condensation tube and then push it out a bit more so it runs down onto the ground? Maybe put a flex screen on the end so bugs don't go up into the tube when it's not on.
Eric, I love your mind! lol I've always liked and trusted when you present things. You're honest and thorough. Thanks Eric!
Hes honest?. Do you not know him??
Hes a convicted woman beater and thief...lol
This is a must have for car and tent campers. Pretty cool ! Thanks for sharing.
Bought one for my rooftop tent, can't wait!👻
I'm buying the icy breeze. They have great reviews... What he sponsors doesn't
@@hebe4772 what do you think of if?
I had recommended one of these to you a lot earlier I'm glad you got one happy to see it working out so great. Especially with the power consumption and it really doesn't take up all that much space. Sure does beat the Heat. Might sound silly but if you had two of them running simultaneously one in the bedroom one in the living room that would be enough to cool the whole entire RV in the peak of summertime. And still use less wattage then you're built-in AC system.
Good products will always be known. 🤣🤣
Buy 2 of them? They want $1500. for this! For $3k you can get a new rooftop a/c that doesn't take up space inside the rig.
I'll just need cool air around me. Not economically and eco friendly to own two to cool an entire space.
Hi there Eric Tara and Opie. Wow we been looking AC. Like that. For our RV. How cool is that... thanks for the information on that ... that would be nice camping. Keeping cool. Give Tara and Opie a hug Stay safe out there on the roads. God bless Take care your friends Gerry and Pat from Amarillo Texas Yee Haw
Can you buy an extra battery for the unit ?
Question. Why would you not pull the intake air from the room as opposed to the warmer outside air? Is it a noise thing? What am I missing guys? Thinking it would be more efficient cooling cooler air. In any case it seems like a great fix for summer heat in small areas.
And first he said the air intake is just below the movable outlet blowing air in the front, but then he says there's an inlet in the back too, so it sucks air from both the front and the back!? hahahaha I respect Eric tremendously much but this video does raise a few questions lol.
Suck out your cold air ?
So, the front of the AC draws ambient air like any other AC unit, but it needs more so that's why EVERY SINGLE AC unit in a window draws air additionally from outside, while venting hot air out.
@@nomadicfanatic ohhh okay.
Sounds like a great backup unit, in case your roof unit would go out while you are in the road.
I do love the input and output hoses. What a difference that would make. That was the biggest mistake with my A/C purchase. I do math the same way. LOL This is a really detailed review. That rocket feature is pretty awesome.
Having an input hose bringing in outside heated air to be cooled instead of recycling interior conditioned air is the stupidest disease ever. To increase efficiency discharge heated air while recycling input already conditioned air. To say otherwise violates every thermodynamic law there is. Over-priced rip-off is what this unit is. The only people who would even consider recommending it are UA-camrs getting it for free.
@@patzke I have an a/c with one hose. The heat put off by that hose is hotter than the outside air by a long shot.
@@LostOnLandAgain yes as it should be. That hose is pushing the heat exchanger hot air outside.
@@patzke I have a van so it's vented out the passenger side window. The intake is on the back of the a/c so it pulls the hot air created by that hose in and tries to cool it. Again, the outside air is usually cooler than the hot air coming off that hose. I'm not sure I'm describing the situation well but I have been told by numerous people that if I had an intake hose it would solve my problem.
@@patzke If you remove air from the RV, the same amount of outside air will en up inside anyway through cracks due to negative pressure. So it's better to cool the outside air from an intake hose, rather than getting hot/humid unconditioned air inside.
I think I can almost justify $1,000 for the unit. But, $500 for the first battery and $450 for a second battery is ridiculous, especially since they admit they only last 6 hours each...!
There is the 110 option for those without ability to get the battery pack. Solar power bank. I don't see this as a completely viable option for offgrid heavy non-solar use, but at least its something.
Or just skip the battery and run off your batteries. A normal (non DC) compressor AC unit will draw TWICE the amps/watts on startup which won't even work with most solar systems or portable generators.
Be really great for a boat
Excellent demo. Sigh… a bit out of my price range. Same as the $600 litter box Tara and Opie have the pleasure of using. My pussycats will have to make do with a big dishpan and clay litter.
@@sactopyrshep My daughter bought a automatic kitty litter unit for like 150 bucks she said it works just fine. Amazon Has bunches of them.
That's a great backup for RVers with pets. Does it have a thermostat to automatically turn on? This way if the RV AC failed, this could keep the RV safe.
Very important question..! I bet it will be an upgrade in version 2.0
$1,500 without the battery.
Nice video Nomadic Fanatic! If I needed one, I would buy! You're great salesman :)
I would love to have one. Funny I’m watching the sitting in a row staring in the back of my hot van wishing I had one. Lol I left home yesterday for a full-time van life. I don’t know how anyone handles the heat I can’t even sleep. Colorado high altitude here I come
i am full timerv living. so i use shore power all the time. i bought a 14,000 btu portable ac with 2 hoses and vented the hoses thru the floor. wrapped the hot air side hose with double bubble rflective foil insulation workes great in az
If you have the power source to run this unit, it seems like it could be a good solution to help cool the temperature. Mounting those hose exhaust through the window is a must. ❤️
Why wouldn't you have the cold air intake coming from the inside like your RV or House A/C?
After a momentary power failure, does it turn itself back ON?
Hi Eric, Thanks much for deciding to insert your product reviews into your regular video schedule. That's a great idea! One thing -- would you consider adding timestamps so we can go back and find your instructions / details on various aspects of the product in the review video? For an example, see GoneWiththeWynn's video on their new boat. Thanks again!!!! Know you put much time, effort, and talent into your channel and it's appreciated so much!
Sounds like a great product that's well-assembled by you & definitely Opie-approved 😊
would be better to let the intake use the cooler inside air. not sure why you were selling this so hard... it felt like you were trying to put a round peg in a square hole. it isnt powerful enough to cool even a small rv - maybe ok for a small rv bedroom or van but that is best case scenario.
Would it work better if you keep the intake inside inside the RV and put the exhaust outside the RV?
Love all the info you provide!!! Keep up the great work!!!!! Hope to see you on the road out there some day!!!
You make me laugh. You always come up with good ideas. I like how you demonstrated it. This sounds like a great a/c unit. Thank you! 😊
Your review is the first one that has been good that I have seen. Been thinking about getting one. Great Review And Thanks For Sharing My Friend!
Thanks Rex. More to come as it heats up.
This work work great in 1970 bug. With it in the front trunk and a custom vent to the interior of the car this would give my buy a/c. 👍👍
I bet you wished you had that back in the black van days.
I like that thing!
Too "cool". Could this be A/C's answer to the Buddy Heater!? 💕 Love that low power consumption 👍
Good thought to reduce the space being cooled. They have a dc-to-dc converter that is more efficient than the AC brick that can get really hot. Or I made mine from aYT video.
Looks good. I can always use a little more cool air.
So lucky they chose you to demo to your viewers. It would be the perfect air conditioner for me. My problem is the price is not wallet compliant. Great idea with the strainer baskets! Perfect simple fix. When the power goes out I could stay cool. I'd be happy with this. Thank you for sharing. I could lift this one. The AC units for the window, I can't lift. Thank you for sharing this amazing product.
Looks like something I must try, Eric. Question: Have you designed a port cover for the outside vents to allow you to use it when it's raining?
Not yet! But great point. There would need to be a louver system installed. I'll consider an update soon! Thanks for advice.
Thanks for the trusted review BUT in going to their website, the reviews there point out that there is no human contact for customer service just email and I even tried to send an email that shows that their system is not taking emails now! I like the idea of small true AC even with limited area coverage.
They keep getting better and better.
Nice unit Eric, looks factory from outside man.
great video! this unit sounds quiet which is a must when I use it in the trailer.
Great review. Consider it on my list. What’s the runtime on the batteries if I want to cool a tent? I just need low humidity at 74 degrees. That would be a great test. A glamping game changer.
That’s what I was hoping to hear also.
Wonder if this would work in a bedroom in an apt.
If you put the cold side out the window. Can you use it like a heat pump in the winter just by turning it around?
I've seen someone used it like that
Looks like a great tent product for East Coast camping.
Hello Eric, thank you for sharing the A/C functions with us. I have been watching for years, so I know that after awhile you always bless these items to someone. Either by selling them or gifting them. So I asking when you decide you no no longer want this item, please sell it to me. PLEASE
I have some summer plans in EXTREME heat, so I should get to test it out well in August. Until then, it's been cool anyway.
so it won't use up much electricity as the roof airs. im thinking about something like that.
Great revue Eric. It takes up a little too much room for a car/suv -may work in a van or tent !? 🤔 I hav a large portable with one exhaust tube and I suffer the afternoon heat just 3feet away from unit. Of course I am in SW Florida in a travel trailer. 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Praying to find a vehicle I can afford to get my dog & I out of here 🙏🙏💞
How long does it run on battery?
Awsome Review Little Nomadic Brother. Finally a portable AC. Appreciate the review. Safe Travels
Great video! Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Why would the condensation water Be dirty? 🧐
Too expensive. When they develop one that's just as good and not grossly overpriced, then I will be interested.
In a year it will be half that price and that's still to expensive.
I've been looking for one but how the heck much is this 1 everybody can everybody can afford it and certainly nobody gets free stuff.
@@lisahertel2415 TY and that's usually the case on these products.
How much is it?
@@mike741111 $1499.
?How hot does the hot side get? Meaning, do you have to worry about bumping into it?
No, it’s warm to my hand, but not hot
Looks like a nice product. I like the 24V operation. Question, how long does the battery last on it?
Review on website said 4-5hours, but charging is 5-6hours.
Eric, thank you for your cool review! 🥶
That actually looks like a viable cooling unit. You should have set it up to run at noon time for several hours, on your whole RV, just to see what the temperature difference is between outside and inside is. The only other thing is we never got what the room temperature was, and how quick!y it dropped.
It's too small to do anything noticeable in an RV. But the back of a car, under a Sheet-tent, I'm sure it would work great.
Thanks for the review, but I find the Mark 2 a bit on the weak side since it only has around 2300BTUs compared with the other one which has 4000BTUs of cooling power.
I like how you rigged that up
Nice review, and set up. I think those are a good thing for nomads in smaller rigs, or the ability to close off some of the space like you have done. 🙂👍
Did you test it to see how long it will run on battery?
Still struggling to hit 70 degrees here, so I can't keep the compressor going in the PNW... Will update for sure!
Thank you!!! Fantastic Review ---- what i needed!!! keep going Brother
The Wonderful choice for my short time travel, this is portable!
Looks like a good addition to the bedroom to cool the wife so the house isn’t on 69 degrees all night!
Running that unit in your kitchen area, do you feel a difference in the rest of the RV? I would think it'd make a difference. Its a nice unit. Thanks for taking the time do go into all the details. PS - I like your ingenuity in creating that cutout for the window. I'd also put a screen on the incoming air too, just to be extra bug free.
That is amazing.
Thank you. It's what I need but it's out of my price range.
Great review !!!! Thank you Eric. 👍👍👍😺😺
Good info !! Might try
Lovely video. Thanks for sharing 👍 🥰
Indeed works ads gotta love it, but will say perfect ax in my van a life saver!
Ooooooohhhhh! I want one of those for camping with no hook-ups!
$1500 bucks for just the unit? That's nuts!!
"When this baby gets above 88 watts, you're gonna cool some serious shit."
Its name is Zero Breeze, because that's exactly what you get when the battery runs out, Zero Breeze. 🤣
God Bless Eric and Fanatics
I got on this when it came out on indigo. I was supporter number 300 it took for ever to get it. Yes it does what they say it does and that is to cool you buy blowing cool air on you. It is not made to cool a room are a RV. It is a true compressor AC unit very small. I think it was one of the first. The original one was junk. I like mine and has worked with no issues. It’s not made to cool a room. Fact I know
its a shame its not more square so at least you could mount it somewhere or have the ability to store it more effectively. + its too expensive for most people
Great review. Nice little A.C. unit. What kind of material did you use to make the window insert? That was clever. Also, using the strainer on the ends of the hoses was brilliant.😉 I don't like the heat of the summer. This would be perfect for me. Opie's a good little helper. Be safe.

Will continue to climb down lol 😂
I need one of these, wish I could afford it
Wow! Living in Oklahoma, this might be a game changer for the wife and I. Thank you for sharing!
Cool idea for the screens
$1500.00 for a portablle AC!
It's $999 and it's a DC compressor, so no inverting. It's the first of it's kind, and it has soft start build in. Price aside, if you buy a $300 walmart unit, you still can't use it if it draws 1200w and needs 2400w to start up...
Thanks for sharing Eric
Wow this is really neat
NICE UNIT. Assembled fully, it reminds me of a Blue Man Group instrument.
I love to sit in my car for lunch and on my brakes at work every day but it’s so tempting and hard to not run the ac in my car all the time while I’m not driving because I don’t want to damage the car …could this be my savior ? To run it in my car without using the cars AC ?
I think that would be good for truckers so they don't have to idle all night for A/C. especially with diesel prices high like they are
Great video thank you!
How long does the battery run it?
Good question. How long does the battery last Eric??
I can't do that test right now as ambient temperature is not even 70 degrees, meaning I can't even force the AC to be on right now. So... when it's only 64 degrees and cloudy outside, I can say that it runs 10 hours but that's because the compressor wasn't on very much... Let me get back to you later in the summer if it warms up here.
@@nomadicfanatic thanks for letting me know:) enjoy your trip and those kitties they really look good in the forest!
Wow great idea But extremely expensive
So what is the price?
Great review.
Eric you should really share this with asha since she is tent camping this could be a game changer for her she was complaining that it was quite warm in that little tent🙂
Yes Cleverrrrrrrr . . . YOU ~ ROCK ! ! 🤛
At this rate you won't need it much while in PNW as it is not hot enough to use. Are you enjoying all this rain. I know it followed you from Illinois, lol.
We hit 70 degrees ONCE so far... lol.
Our RV needs help with the a/c. Our just doesn't keep up with the heat. Not enough insulation in campers I guess.
