Hi everyone! I'm excited to bring you the second guest of this exciting new OFFSTAGE series where we feature a variety of guest artists over different instruments and learn cool stuff together!
Our second guest is superstar flutist: Jasmine Choi, soloist, former principal of the Vienna Symphony, chamber musician, and one of the sweetest people I've ever met. In addition to being an amazing musical ambassador for her instrument, she has recorded several albums with SONY Classical, and she has even made her own arrangements of famous works, including the Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky violin concertos.
We're going to be picking and reviewing 3 videos that you have submitted to either the subreddit ( / raychenviolin ) with the "special guest review" flair or from our Discord server ( / discord . We'll also be answering a few questions and just be having a fun time in general! Thanks for watching!

What a fun time this was, talking about flutes and also catching up with Ray!! Thanks to you all for watching, and thanks for all the INCREDEBLE video submissions and great questions!! :D
Hi Jasmine! Yes it was a lot of fun for us viewers all over the world, too. I am looking forward to "Memorizing..." live streaming tomorrow!
I'm absorbing everything that Jasmine says. The flutists in this livestream are beyond amazing.
Live with Jasmine, this is a great video of your friend's tiki-taka (as well as many others), thank you Tonic and the both of you for being there! May Ray and Jasmine be happy !!!! and may all of us here may happiness in our own lives!!!!👍🏻✨👑🌞🎻🏅🎖️🏆💯
This was wonderful!! Can't thank you both enough! Jasmine has such a warm demeanor--when she talks it feels like you're standing next to her in a lesson and you've had her as a teacher for years. It makes absorbing her wisdom an even more enjoyable experience. Fantastic job to everyone who played, too! Seriously, Bravo!!
Always great to hear others talk about music. It's a great way to understand how it affects us all differently! Nice work!
So first Jasmine fangirls over Ray 6:56, then he does the same other way around at 47:52! Such respect for both!
Hi Jasmine, hello Ray Chen! That was an awesome live streaming you did, despite the slight audio difficulty on Jasmine's side. I know how difficult it is to do the live streaming synchronized from two countries far apart, so I admire you, Ray, for making this another success musically and technically. Thank you both so much! Jasmine, I again learned so much from this! from "Miki_WADA".
Wanna smile? Watch this vid!
Thank you both for this!
Ray's circular breathing is so amazing
Wow I thoroughly enjoyed this! Normally with long livestreams my attention drifts, but I was totally immersed the whole time!! Thank you Ray and Jasmine for such an interesting conversation and for bringing so many laughs!
So cool to see two of my favorite performers from my favorite instruments hanging out!
Very nice! I don’t even play the flute but found this very interesting. It would have been nice if Jasmine had her flute in order to demonstrate some of the things she was explaining. But it was still great either way.
I gotta say, Ray, you’re a really good interviewer. You do your research and you let your guests speak without interrupting. I commend your humility and you’re always willing to learn something new. You’re a great host and you make livestreams fun, keep up the great work!
I've been following both of you for a while, so I was so excited for this collab! Loved it :D
THIS WAS THE CROSSOVER THE I DIDN'T KNOW THAT I NEEDED AHHHH
Oh my god, I have just discovered this video. I don't know how I couldn't notice something with the better flutist (according to me) in the world. Jasmine Choi ❤️
If she wasn't married, I would ship you two so much xD You're so cute with all that blushing! This was so fun to watch, your live streams are always incredible Ray 😍
46:51 What a lovely question. I loved Ray and Jasmine's answer which both answers compliments each other so well.
Also the fact Jasmine played violin! =OO
1:02:12 saw from Jasmine's IG and found it now. oh my lord
1:02:00 circular breathing/straw part
Viola of wind instruments is definitely the recorder!
Jasmine is so sweet! this was the best!
Loved your Didgeridoo impression Ray :D
Jokes aside, this live was really wholesome
Ray: a violinist, circular breathes first try
Me: plays recorder and flute, fails every time
This was so much fun to watch! especially the circular breathing and huge straw hahaha
I play the flute and the violin, they're both so incredible and adorable I'd love to bring them home to teach me :P
Wow my favorite musicians, doing offstage. What a lovely serendipity from lockdown
Flute vibrato the pitch would go up and down. Air controls the pitch so u need good ear for wind instrument too
Loved this collab as one of your flute subscribers!!
What pair of lungs she have! :0 omg, I'm out of breath already or became unconscious! Amazing Jasmine...
Ray should try to play flute, I think he will enjoy it.
He, and almost every beginner, will be just like Eddy 😂 I'm just kidding.. I'm not a fluter
Ribhav Gupta Some are better than others, but lol I sounded like Eddy when I first started except I didn’t try beatboxing in my flute
@@bethanyhu1881 yeah he was purposefully not even trying to play
This was funny & interesting (and of course, 'Ray in competitive mode' needs to nail the circular breathing straight away 😆). I'll definitely check out Jasmine's channel after watching this! 🎆
Beautiful musical introduction and great conversation.
This was fun 👍🏻👍🏻
1:02:10 funniest moment in this whole interview in my opinion Lmaooo
I'm sobbing I can't believe he said that 😭
This is extremely wholesome!
Hj, Ray. I really like your videos and this was one also very good. I have a small suggestion though: you have a bubbly personality and seems to be an easygoing person, but because of that I think that you sometimes unintentionally dont let the other person talk much or interrupts more than necessary. Great video, though!
I was late because i sleeped in😂
Video starts at 00:41 :)
Beautiful
Jasmine looks so intelligent and nice 🙂
We don't call it swallowing. It's choking
What about a guitarist? ^^
Hi there

George Washington played flute, but Albert Einstein played violin :d
That first video with the kid wearing a Columbia University shirt... i c u
자막 한국어가 안되네요
Ray speaks Australian whenever he talks about something Australian.
*yes Aussie is an accent but this is kinda a joke
Hahaha He went Aussie real quick!!! it's amazing!!!
It’s time to pay the piper
She is so pretty, ray needs get at that. Rawr
It's not that hard to have a career if you are from a very wealthy family.
Ray Chen wastes so much time on nonsense ( sound, his fears, ) its frustrating to watch. WE WANT REAL CONTENT.
