We visit Trout Lake every year for an annual camping trip, and recently discovered the remains of the Victoria while floating over it on inner tubes. The history and the scenery in that old town is capivating.

Just one comment on the old gas pumps still in use: some years ago, my car was running on fumes, having just driven the Trout Lake route without adequate gas. Spying the pumps at the old gas station was a huge relief, and their being antiques added to my delight. The attendant filled my tank and I went into the old building to pay - where a modern computerized cash register was in use, sorting out sales of gas, groceries, and liquor! Sorta took away from the atmosphere...

In 1986 the generator building in Ferguson was still in fairly good shape as well as the wooden slat pipe that fed it . The generator is huge with a smaller starter generator off to the side in a small part of the L shaped building. The plate on the generator says general electric 1901. Somebody at some point took it looks like an ax or something to chop a bunch of copper off the spinning part. Other then that damage it looked like it was in excellent shape. The building is right on the edge of the creek but is hard to spot totally grown in. We found it because we saw the wooden slat pipe just off the main road going through town at the time. We followed it through the brush till we found the old generator building. The building was super heavy duty built but was starting to collapse. The guy I was with Len Eger had his father visiting he told us the small generator off to the side was a starter generator. Cool thing to find.

Fantastic area to explore! We found a huge old steam engine that serviced the Nettie L mine on one of our trips.

Hi John, ……….Barry from New Zealand,…………..enjoy watching your film clips, most enjoyable. I can see that BC still has some real old towns,………not the made up ones of other areas. Thank you for your time to make these.

Not trying to be snotty, just a little more info.
The building shown at 6:16 should be the Eva Mine office in Camborne.
The building shown at 6:45 should be the ruins of Hansen's hotel at Poplar Creek.
All in all, I am going to be viewing the rest of your vids, really good
