I recomend Eve hud, It's one of the only huds I actually like and I used to be like you where I would hate custom huds and just use default but Eve hud is like the default but nicer I guess.

For the FlawHud Streamer Mode it hides the names in the killfeed and chat iirc, so that people dont streamsnipe. i use that hud but im not a streamer anyways so i never used it. Also the reload thing is for when the hud breaks (like if the health colour isnt showing properly or some parts are missing, youre gonna reload the hud a lot).
Id recommend trying out e.v.e Hud, I like it because it feels like the default Hud but with a fresh coat of paint, It stays with the tf2 style and I like that ^^ Plus the class selection menu looks clean

i would assume that the "reload" option uses a few commands that do a quick reload of the hud, sound, models etc. just in case where you would have a glitch on your screen (like demo's shield flying in the air instead of being on your arm). The streamer mode is propably just removing chat, names and pictures of other players, just so you wouldn't have any bannable vulgarity on your stream.
If you like the Default HUD then you should try the improvized Default HUD which does some things other HUDS can. I would suggest you to use that if you like the normal hud like me
If your still searching but like TF2's default hud I'd highly recommend the enhanced default hud, it's just a revamped stock hud made for the people who like the stock hud

for the first hud I don't like the taunt menu cause if ur gonna taunt your gonna taunt and be stationary like what if I click g accidentaly and forget about it cause its so small then taunt when switching weapons
I agree with your original statement. The default HUD is fine. Very few user created HUDs are compatible with the Xbox 360 engineer building menu. I refuse to play this game without a controller and finding a hub that's compatible with those specific menuses extremely difficult. The only one that I could ever find was called ant hud

reload is used if the hud breaks or something or if you change your resoloution, it reloads the hud for the new settings, also id reccomend uping your viewmodel fov to 70 at minimum, but id say at max go to 100, because anything above that has generally very noticeable viewmodel glitches, like when using a melee for scout his off hand upperarm becomes really big on the screen, this can be done in 2 ways, either A go into advanced options, scroll down a little until it saysd viewmodel fov, slider should be there max of 70, now if you wanna go higher you can enable developer console, so go to options, advanced, enable developer console checked, and type, viewmodel_fov then what you want to set it to. also I think you have it like thhis but make sure your fov is 90 not 75, do this by going into options, video, advanced, then an fov slider, crank it to max. of course this is just how I find tf2 at its best, personally use 75 viewmodels fov, but play around with it, also yeah if you wanna use ToonHUD., type toonhud tf2 in your web browser, their site shows up, if you login with steam, btw totally safe thousands have done it for years without any problems, now once you login, your gonna be meet with the options menu, go to my themes, or maybe itll instantly put you into my themes, press the plus sign, then mess around with that to do stuff with your toonhud, or you could always download mine best tf2 hud ever no cap, search up bloxyhud in the search bar ez wins.
I may be wrong about this, but I think what streamer mode does is that it covers the name of the players in-game, so that people can't go and streamsnipe you or don't go and harass players that appeared in your videos/streams
It's not same as making a HUD but it's an easy practice when using Toonhud before you try to make HUDs (without Toonhud at all) as someone who uses Toonhud

The reload thing reloads your hud so you can make changes without closing tf2
the lavahud reload button reloads the hud and menu, so if you make any changes to the mod you can get those changes without restarting the game.

The cool hud is nice, it has a lot of customization, and it fits the game’s style really well
If you like the default HUD, use default HUD enchanced (or something like that) it's basically default but some extra features
finding a good HUD for tf2 is like questioning your sexuality
I recommend Cool Hud if you want a hud that looks like the default hud while keeping a lot of the QOL features that more popular huds have
ZeesHUD also looks pretty, try it out if you want

Why do huds have to replace the menus? I love the default TF2 menus, just change the HUD, not the menus.
EveHud and tf2 hud plus (the other version on huds.tf) keep the main menu style
Menu is mainly disliked by alot of people so that's how it is but I think the menu looks good (even default HUD is good too)
The reload fixes graphics glitches and stuff that sometimes happen like invisible players and weapons

I use a HUD that is pretty similar to the default one, it's called Flamehud, you should give it a shot, fits your needs imo

HexHud is a good hud Imo, keeps itself simple, clean and it has a certain style I really enjoy
