My grandfather was in INA and he joined Netaji in the independence movement. He told us about how Netaji’s one lecture changed their life. He spoke highly of him. He had Netaji’s picture on the wall of his room and always greeted everyone with ‘Jai Hind’ (no good morning or hello). My grandfather wrote a poetry book in 80’s in Punjabi with Netaji’s picture on the cover. Listening about this podcast makes me want to go back in time and tell me nanaji how far we have come.

Same here... my grandfather served with Netaji in the INA and my mother's family home in Kolkata has Netaji's pictures on the wall. I grew up respecting him a lot. However my schooling was in Mumbai and our textbooks dint teach us much about this national hero and what extreme sacrifices he made for our countries.

I'm from Arunachal near Bhutan border, and want to share a story that my grandfather used to share about Indian army. It was during 1962 when Chinese army almost captured the Arunachal Pradesh, Indian army was badly defeated, Chinese army chased the Indian army until Indian army entered Bhutan border. My grand father use to tell that oneday a hundreds of battle harden Indian came to our village. They looked so dirty and thin like they haven eaten for year, the soldiers were asking for food from local in hunger, my grandfather gave them a bag of radish and potatoes which they ate in raw, such was the suffering Indian army went through.

I had tears when Anuj Sir said that Netaji didnt come out in the open because he didnt want innocents to bleed. This year on 15th August, I went to the INA memorial at Singapore to pay homage to the real heroes who were responsible for our Independence. It was a surreal feeling sitting there and listening to the story of Netaji and his 40,000 strong Azad Hind Fauj or Indian National Army. Indians didnt get Independence without 'Khadag and Dhaal'. My great-grandfather was a lieutenant in the British Indian Army, he fought in the second World War, in Nagaland, Burma, Egypt and Sicily. He joined Netaji's Azad Hind Fauz and travelled to the Andaman & Nicobar Is. with him. He always said there was no greater leader than Netaji, a true secularist and a patriot to the very end. My great-grandfather was also part of the organizing committee which invited Gandhiji to our town for the one and only time.

Khoon khol uthta hai jab tum sochte ho ki lakh o Indians maare gaye, hamare Desh ka partition hogaya and have you ever heard that Gandhi and Nehru were tortured by the British ?
Our freedom fighters like Bose, Bhagat Singh, etc were arrested and tortured by the police. And Gandhi and Nehru used to support the British.
If Subhas Chandra Bose was there during Independence then all these Britishers and the police who killed innocent Indians would get shot or hanged. In our History text books it is written that Britishers forgave us Indians and they gifted us an Independent India.
Where in reality our ancestors fought bravely, died and made our India independent.
So many little kids are getting manipulated till date due to the blunder in our History text books. We are blessed that we have access to the Internet.

    Blunders of Nehru: 😐
    1. Rejected a permanent seat at the UN
    2. Rejected Nepal’s offer to join Bharat
    3. Rejected Balochistan’s offer to join Bharat
    4. Created the Kashmir issue
    5. Presided over the disastrous Sino-Bharat war
    6. Refusal To Enter Nuclear Deal
    7. Nehru rejected a US offer of helping Bharat with the development of a nuclear device in 1964 perhaps because he was a proponent of
    non-violence.
    8. Led the ill-conceived Non-Aligned Movement
    9. Indifference towards Goa
    10. Favoured Socialism instead of free-market Capitalism.
    11. Ignored Corruption
    12. Clung to Power for too long
    13. Curbed journalistic freedom and freedom of expression
    14. Failure to encourage, promote and implement universal primary education
    15. Toppled democratically elected Kerala government in 1957
    16. Gifted Pakistan
    17. Didn't allow Sardar Patel to be the PM
    18. Gifting Manipur's Kabo valley to Burma
    19. Gifting the strategically located Coco Islands to Burma
    20. Refusing the Sultan of Oman's gift of Gwadar port
    21. Giving up on Tibet, placing India's water security and northern border at China's mercy
    22. Signing the most unequal treaty in history
in 1960, PM Nehru, for the sake of "friendship" and "goodwill" signed one of the most unequal, lopsided treaties ever - the Indus Waters Treaty, giving Pakistan ownership of over three-fourths of the water the flows through the Indus System of Rivers located in Bharat. Pakistan reciprocated Nehru's gesture of goodwill by invading Bharat just five years later.
    23. Hostility towards Sardar Patel's restoration of the Somnath Temple
    24. Obstructing Sardar Patel's plan to liberate Hyderabad from the murderous Nizam
    25. Nehru had a total impractical approach to integrating Kashmir with rest of Bharat. He didn't allow Sardar Patel to deal with Kashmir issue. Patel was quite successful in integrating other troubled regions such as Hyderabad Nizam's province with Bharat.
    26. During the Indo-Pak war of 1948 when Bharat was gaining back the Kashmir captured by the invaders, he prematurely went to the UN Security Council. This was a great strategic mistake. Bharat now wants to distance itself from 3rd party intervention in the dispute and the UN resolutions on this, but it is Nehru who did it in the first place.
    27. Moreover, We were winning the war against CHlN but Nehru didn't allow Bhartiya Air Force to participate and we lost Aksai Chin area
    28. No Initiative on Sri Lankan Tamil Problem
    29. Giving Away 55 Crores to Pakistan
    30. Usurping Congress Presidentship in 1929
    31. Nehru’s Undemocratic Elevation as the First PM
    32. Unplanned & Grossly Mismanaged Partition
    33. Article-370 thanks to Nehru
    34. Article 35A for J&K, Again thanks to Nehru
    35. Ignoring Illegal
    Pr0seIytization
    36. Neglect of Agriculture
    37. Throttled Industrialisation
    38. Messy Reorganisation of States
    39. Messing Up the Language Issue, Promoting Urdu & Persian-Arabic Script, Neglect of Sanskrit
    40. Setting Jinnah on Path to Pakistan

    42. Erroneous Nehru-Era Map
    43. Rebuffing Israel, the Friend-in-Need
    44. Scoring Self-Goal-Ministry Resignations, 1939
    45. Assam’s Security Compromised
    46. Aborted ‘Cabinet Mission Plan’ for United Bharat
    47. NWFP Blunder 1946
    48. Distorted, Self-Serving Secularism & Minorityism

Love and gratitude for showing your interest in this topic and bringing it infront of everyone. More people should talk about it.. about the truth and hopefully someday just someday, everyone will speak about it fearlessly and the history will change for everyone in this country.

He collaborated with Pandit Gopabandhu Das in articulating issues of Odia labourers and dockworkers. He spoke in Odia at a Calcutta meeting drawing huge cheers. His nostalgia for Odisha was evident from expressions and utterances such as “The best part of my life was spent in Odisha...”, “Being a son of Utkal, my heart is always there...” and the like.

Thanks Ranveer for broadcasting the Anuj Dhar episode. I am 64 years old and I always worship 3 persons. Swami Vivekanda ( against whose theory of swadeshi jagoran, the English creates M. K. Gandhi), Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose and Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. If you dig the history, you will find Gandhi started his career in India as agent of the British and earned money by supplying manpower/ soldiers to British. Vivekanada ignited the mentality of Indian people specially the youth to fight the unlawful activities and British got scared and to counter the Vivekanda's theory, they brought the Agent MKG. This is the fact of British Raj. Actually British itself is not believing the plane crash. Anyway thanks once again for the podcast and covey my heartiest gratitude to Mr.Anuj Dhar for his tiresome research on my hero .

Actually, it is very difficult for our Govt to admit that Subhash Bose was alive till 1985 and that he was present inside the country.
Firstly, it will spoil our relationship with the UK.
Secondly, which is more important for our Government that accepting Netaji didn't die in 1945 will be a moral blow to Japan. Who is a great friend of our country in the far east.
Japan has declared that Subhas Chandra died in a plane crash in 1945, and that his ashes are preserved religiously in a temple. This Japanese truth will be shattered with our declaration. And it may affect the bilateral relationship.
That's why, Mr Anuj Dhar is absolutely correct in saying, "Govt is waiting for the right time to declassify its complete archives".
Excellent analysis Mr Dhar, excellent talk Ranveer ji
