Very impressed and saved to my favorites now. Thank you so much for making this, it felt like I was right there listening to you. Now I gotta go buy a zipper and try it!
@@dadhands another tech question. When you are making a fold, like in a folding coin holder what tool do you use to thin that out, like cutting a stitching groove
Love the Video! Just downloaded the free PDF on your site. Mahalo! Also, what is the Comrade Collective? The lighter you are using has a logo on it. Curious.
Thank you for the tutorial. Very nice! Please tell us what size zipper you are using. Thanks! UPDATE: Note to self: be patient and watch the whole video before you ask. Lol. Now I know.😄
There’s gotta be someone 🤞🏻 I hope you’re able to find one! So happy you enjoyed the video my friend, and it helped to squash a lil of the zipper scaries 🤗
That’s a great question my dear friend! I made this one out of a 3-4 oz leather. I would suggest keeping it around 4-6 oz at the thickest for this size of pouch. Any thing too too thick will cut down the carrying capacity.
As mentioned in the video, I used a Riri M8 for this project. It is quite large for it, but I personally like the aesthetic of it for this project, and it made it easier to see on the recording what I was doing 😊 Generally I tend to use their M6 size for most applications though. I only use Riri zippers, so I am not too sure how the sizing translates to other brands. If it’s of help, in Riri’s, the number corresponds to how wide the metal teeth are when closed, in mm.
@@dadhands thanks. I thought you said in the video but I must have missed it. VA got me going through a mess change, so I'm not well currently. I'm ordering from buckleguy so riri will be it. Thanks for all you do
@@michaels2208 sorry to hear of you’re struggles ❤️ I’m happy to answer your questions anytime, feel free to message me on instagram as well. I really appreciate your kind words 😊
I am still scared of installing zippers. Although a little less scared. Eric (@ corterleather) has been trying to teach me for years. Q: Where did you get the wonderful stitching chisels? I have a guess that they are not yet released versions. Patiently waiting for them. Thank You!
I have had the extreme privilege of getting to test a set before they went into production. They should be available soon, and I can attest, are well worth the wait 😊
Nice work, I wanna be like you when I grow up! 😂❤❤
thanks for the info / close up on how to use the zipper tool.
I actually sung the title...🎵 Don't fear the zipper🎵🤣
Yeasssssss!!! I’m glad someone else got it! Haha I’ve been singing that in my head for two days now 😜🤣
I’m glad to hear it’s not just me lol

Omg I’m so glad you’re doing this. I LOVE MY PENCIL CASE DAD HANDS FOR PRESIDENT
Also I have been holding onto many zippers to modify and your tutorial is amazing
@@ashla.k you’re just the sweetest!! Thank you so much ❤️🥹❤️ I hope you can put those zips to use now, shoot me a message any time my friend!
Finally, a video that shows how to add the zipper stops and ends! Definitely going to buy the zipper tape instead of the pre-made ones from now on!
Thank you for checking it out my friend! Glad it was helpful 🤗
Back in action! :) This is great, zippers are always the hardest part for me.
Thank you for your support my friend!! ❤️🤗❤️

What was the block that you used when punching your stitch holes?
Sorry for the late response, I use one of these: www.buckleguy.com/cutting-board-multiple-sizes/?aff=17
Just buy a cheap plastic cutting board and save yourself some $$$...
Don't fear the reap- ah, I mean zipper!

Those are not channel locks
My side snips are actually made by Channel Lock, but I do acknowledge that my miss-labeling could be confusing, thanks for pointing that out 😊

@@dadhands I am jealous. I recognized the handle design. Really beefy so you can hit the end confidently. Thick so they will last. Can't wait.
