React to Sausage Party movie
"It's the nephew of John Hammond from Jurassic Park."
No, it's not actually. Here, it's a different actor named Bob Balaban. The Jurassic Park actor's name is Arliss Howard.
React to The Bad Guys and Turning Red
checkout Anderson's ''The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,'' with Cumberbatch, Fiennes and Ben Kingsley. Only 40mins long but filled with the same whimsical filming as 'Budapest.'
“Let’s change the subject. Im leaving.”
Greatest exit line ever.
I would love for you to watch more Wes Anderson movies, they are all fantastic
Agreed Fantastic Mr. Fox is my favorite it’s simplicity at its best :)
Simply the BEST!!! He's one of the greatest film makers of our time!!!
Moonrise Kingdom!
A Wes Anderson movies is always recognizable. They should also reacted to the Family Guy and Honest Trailer Wes Anderson movie.
Rushmore is right up there too. Fantastic movie, but then they all are
That ending makes me sob every time. The shot of Zero and the interviewer, alone in that huge ballroom, as he says "and so I got it all." Ugh. He achieved everything Gustave ever dreamt of, but it cost him everyone he loved.
What do you mean?
I just watched it and now the reaction, I cried some tears after it ended… its so sad that Gustave died protecting Zero. Zero kept the Hotel for his late wife and for Gustave.
This is such a heartwarming movie. This is so cheesy but you could feel how filled with love and passion it is.
its not cheesy. its wessy. its so wes anderson, it cannot be cheesy, but its own thing
@@McRino1 lmao I meant the phrase “you could feel the love and passion”
@@McRino1 I thought the French dispatch was the most wessy
I won't call it "heartwarming", more like bittersweet.
It’s whimsical
Owen Wilson and Wes Anderson actually went to college together and wrote Wes’ first film together (Bottle Rocket). He’s in most of Wes’ films, so are most of his actors that he has used.
He's also helped him write some of his other films. I know he co-wrote The Royal Tenenbaums and I know there's a couple others.
The actor playing the older Zero is F. Murray Abraham. He won an Oscar back in 1985 for playing Salieri in "Amadeus" (one of the best acting performances ever).
He was most recently the voice of Khonshu in "Moon Knight."
Also he was great in Scarface.
Ralph Fiennes was absolutely on fire in this film. Some of the best acting ever, and with some of the greatest sets ever. Truly a special movie.
Wes Anderson movies always have quiet emotional moments among the absurdity and rush of the plot that really hits hard :')
I literally squealed with joy when I saw this. The Grand Budapest Hotel has been my favourite movie for ages
This is one of my favorite movies ever, thank you for choosing to react to it!
Nominated for 9 Oscars including Best Picture but won for
Best Production Design
Best Makeup
Best Original Score
Best Costume Design.
Imo deserved all of them, even Original Score because I know a lot of people prefer Interstellar's score but this one was more diverse and original I think
FINALLY A WES ANDERSON MOVIE!!!! Omg I would love for you guys to watch more of his works because he's easily one of my favorite directors because of his stories, the legendary cast he assembles & his iconic style...Fantastic Mr. Fox & Moonrise Kingdom are my favorites but I think all his movies are masterpieces
We need to get more Wes Anderson ventures on the polls! All of his movies are fantastic, and even if one doesn't like them in terms of story, the direction is unmatched and unparalleled!
You should definitely watch more Wes Anderson movies. There's a reason why there's so many great actors in this movie, it's because they all want to work with him. My favorites are The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic.
Those are my favourites, too. They should definitely watch more WA movies
Yeah, they already knew what they will expect for a Wes Anderson film and they enjoy being in his unique world of film making.
I love this movie so much. Rushmore is probably my favorite Wes Anderson movie, but Grand Budapest I believe is his best to date.
This, Rushmore & Royal Tannenbaums are among my top 3 favorite Anderson films.
fantastic mr fox is also - no pun intended - fantastic
Grand Budapest may be the best film he's done to date, I think I can agree with that, and I enjoy it, but my favorite is Moonrise Kingdom. I'm also one of the weirdos who loved The Life Aquatic way more than other people seemed to have. I really appreciate The Royal Tenenbaums because it was still rough around the edges, and he hadn't fully gone OCD about everything yet. I feel like after The Grand Budapest Hotel, he let everything go to his head and now he thinks he can't do wrong. Isle of Dogs was a letdown. The French Dispatch was actually quite awful. Asteroid City sounds like it's going to make all the same mistakes The French Dispatch did.
@@fakecubed I absolutely love Life Aquatic.
Its such an unusual movie for me because ive never seen anything like it and tbh i loved it. Never expected i would like a movie with such a different theme. Love every character!
You should watch more movies by Wes Anderson then.
@@aubryellaotero1064 I haven’t watched The French Dispatch yet and I heard it’s another good movie by this director
@@Rhoynar99 you should watch fantastic Mr fox as well. It's so underappreciated
@@Rhoynar99 French Dispatch is honestly probably his weakest. My favorites by him are The Life Aquatic and Moonrise Kingdom
@@finlaybower I’ll put it in my list!
The older woman in this movie is the fantastic Tilda Swinton; I didn't even recognize her at first, with how realistic they made her new appearance.
Secondly, I love your ReMarkable's I have the II, too. Unless it's the I but still the best purchase I ever made XD
Third, Wes Anderson's films are incredible
This was a lovely story, thank you. :)
@@peculiarpangolin4638 Why thank you very much
Visually, Wes Anderson's stuff is kind of the opposite of Stanley Kubrick in terms of camera work. In A Clockwork Orange by Kubrick, there are images feel like they could be cells from a graphic novel, but he moves from fluidly from one iconic image to the next. Wes likes to sit on images conspicuously, and then pan to the next.
More Wes Anderson please, all his works are incredible.
Wes Anderson has a talent for being both weird and charming.
I never thought that I would enjoy this movie but there is just something about it that I can't put my finger on that I love.
It’s my nr one favorite movie. It’s got Wes Anderson written all over it, it’s funny, it’s got heart, the soundtrack is amazing, the acting is stunning
"Rafe" is an acceptable British pronunciation of "Ralph." Aside from Fiennes, the most notable example I can think of is Ralph Vaughan Williams, a British composer from the late 19th to the mid 20th Century. Hope this helps!
Came here to mention this. The Lark Ascending is my favourite piece of music. It perfectly captures how I feel when I'm walking in nature.
@@UsernameyMcUsernameFace It is an absolutely gorgeous piece.
Wes Anderson is amazing love all his movies. You guys should def do more reactions to his movies. Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore if you haven't seen them yet. Or the Darjeeling Limited.
But make sure to watch the short film that accompanies The Darjeeling Limited though! It's relevant to the backstory, and stars Natalie Portman!
I watched this movie super randomly when I was going through a bunch of oscar contenders back in 2014/5 and it's so good 🤣🤣 Ralph Fiennes is a treasure. The rule of this movie is..if you think it's that actor from that thing...it probably is 🤣. Didn't even recognise Tilda Swinton under all that aging make up 🤣
FYI, that guy was NOT the nephew of John Hammond in "The Lost World"... he's Bob Balaban, who you might recognize from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (he was the translator for that French guy) or any Christopher Guest movies like "Waiting for Guffman" or "Best in Show" or (if you're a "Seinfeld" Fan), he was the head of NBC when Jerry & George were pitching their show about nothing.
This is one of my all time favorite movies, can't count how many times I've seen it. One of the best uses of an ensemble cast I've ever seen, incredible score, production design, and camera work a great clash of elegance and more modern brashness in the dialogue, and so so funny. It's always crazy to me, for how much it feels like a live action cartoon at times, how sentimental and heartfelt it is at its core, especially in the last stretch of the movie.
Also regarding Bill Murray and Owen Wilson having such small roles, they're both longtime friends and collaborators of Wes Anderson and tend to have at least a cameo in his films. Murray has been in every one of his films except his first, and Wilson was actually Wes's college roommate, and co-wrote his first 3 movies with him.
Oh, the old lady in the start is played by Tilda Swinton!
Also, we did this movie as a review for our film class at uni and our professor literally gave us 3 grace points for just choosing this movie, while the other movies being reviewed were Shutter Island, Interstellar, Taxi Driver, The Pianist and Into the Spiderverse: we technically covered multiple cinematic eras in one movie.
One of the films that more often than not ends up in my top 5. It's so beautiful to look at, the music is whimsical, and the story itself really tugs at your heart strings while still being hilarious a lot of the time
This is one of the films that if I had read about it in advance, I probably wouldn't have watched it. However, when I first watched it I was so pleased that I had. It was an unexpected gem of a film. Thanks for the reaction chaps.
This rapidly became one of my favorite films. It's just fun. It looks amazing and is full of great actors giving great performances. Wes Andersons' best film for sure.
If you are looking for another great Ralph Fiennes performance, I recommend 'The Constant Gardener'which is based on a John le Carré novel and directed by one of the co-directors of 'City of God'.
Im so glad you guys are getting into Wes Anderson territory!! I love all his movies! I hope you guys watch the others:)
I really want them to watch more wes Anderson, they're all so charming and unique
Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, and Jason Schwartzman are in almost all of Wes Anderson's films. He likes to work with the same actors and is especially close to Owen Wilson. They were college roommates and collaborators from the get-go.
39:28 Eric's laugh 🤣 Glad to see that you're all feeling well now. Looking forward to more movie reactions Fridays with you guys.
This is the movie that turned my love for movies into an obsession. So glad you guys are finally reacting to it, would love to see you guys react to more Wes Anderson.
You guys definitely need to react to the entire Wes Anderson filmography!
Please watch more Wes Anderson films. They are my fave and they don't get enough attention!!!
I LOVE ANYTHING WES ANDERSON MAKES!!! THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!!!
So happy you guys reacted to this!! It's one of my favourite movies ever!!!
The details in the backgrounds make the camera so great. I’ve seen so many new things when I rewatch his films.
Perfect timing, I literally just finished watching it 2 hours ago 😭
This is such an enchanting movie. It’s my favorite ever. So full of joy, of mischievousness, of melancholy.
This was such a surprise I’m so glad you guys are doing this, please react to more Wes Anderson
The story is being seen by the you the viewer, interpreted by the reader, recalled by the author, told by a character in the story, who is themselves remembering from their past.
The Hotel is a old Department Store in Görlitz, Saxony in Germany. Like other outside Shots are made in Saxony.
Two of my favourite films, The World's End and The Grand Budapest Hotel, having reactions just a week apart, nice.
Wes Anderson is a goddamn genius. I think The Darjeeling Limited and Fantastic Mr Fox are my favorites, but this, Moonrise Kingdom, and The Life Aquatic are up there.
I love this Wes Anderson film and it made my favorite film list of 2021.
The " replacement painting " is from Egon Schiele a really well known and awesome artist ;)
Thank you for watching this movie; it's my favorite Wes Anderson Film and one of my favorite movies ever. And now I am going to enjoy the reaction.
the set is a real place, but not a hotel, it was an old shopping department store - and they set dressed it into 2 hotels! the run down "modern" one and the height of its fame one. brilliant work
It's located in Görlitz, Germany which has courted lots of productions and set itself up as a filming location for several films. I got to visit it with friends a few years ago and it's a bit eerie to recognize so many locations!
Defo defo check out more Wes Anderson, maybe one his animations next? Fantastic Mr Fox is an absolute delight. Also, he does tend to have really stacked casts in his projects.
TGBH is probably one of my favourite movies ever. So glad you're watching it!
Literally just walked in the door after work, saw the notification for this pop up and my mood immediately improved. One of my favourite movies of all time, glad to see that you guys chose it!
This is one of my favourite movies guys and I’ve been waiting for this reaction for ages. Thank you.
I’m so glad Calvin busted out that “what the dog doin” cause I was thinking it
(madame skveduh is an all time BW great already)
Oh man this is definitely one of my favorites!! So many cameos
I am so glad you guys reacted to this. Wes Anderson’s movies are pretty much all gold and you guys seem to appreciate this one.
It is so awesome that you decided to react to this!!!
YES!! This is one of my favorite films! It’s so good! Glad you guys seem to enjoy it!
Legitimately one of my favorite movies ever. Glad to see you enjoyed it.
6:06 - I hope that we keep getting more of these coincidental moments.
I know this is a year old, but at the point where the dude on screen right sees Ed Norton, none of you had commented that F. Murray Abraham and Tilda Swinton had also been in this movie! At least one of you recognized Tom Wilkinson, even if you didn't know his name.
YES, "everyone" is in this movie! :)
i just watched this for the first time yesterday, immaculate timing!
so glad you reacted to this! one of my favourites :]
I just found your channel. This is my favorite movie of all time. I loved seeing your reactions!
my boyfriend and i went to see this in theatres his idea, i was skeptical and i ended up loving it.
wes anderson always managed to assemble all-star casts and his intricate and unique style is great
Very glad you guys are reacting to this movie. More reactions like this please.
Awesome guys this was a wild ride. That intro through Me off but made me laugh. Hope your doing well and will be routing for you dudes in the future. Looking forward to more.
How you guys did not notice Harvey Keitel is beyond me 😅But loved the reaction! I absolutely love this movie as well, it is one of my absolute favourites
Fantastic seeing a Wes Anderson reaction & fantastic seeing the appreciation!
I'm so happy about this. I love this movie so much and I'm so glad to see you boys react to this.
This is one of my favorite movies, all of Wes Anderson’s movies have so much charm and passion put into them
Aaaaaahhhh This is one of my fav movie. It’s so soo sooo good. Watched it when it was released and loved it. So glad you guys watched and loved it too.
This is in my top 10 films, I think you'll like The French Dispatch also. Many of the same cast but many other famous actors too.
Moonrise Kingdom, The Royal Tenenbaums , Rushmore , The Darjeeling Limited , Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and TFD all again feature Bill Murray and Owen Wilson , all Wes Anderson films.
So happy you guys decided to watch this!
I’ve never smashed the like button so fast!!! This is a top five personal favorite movie! So excited to see the reaction!
Also I’m pretty sure that’s tilda swinton in prosthetics as the former owner (dutchess I think)of boy with Apple
Yes!!!! Thank you for choosing this!!!
Glad you picked this, one of my top movies
Love this movie, watching Eric and Aaron watch these would be great 🔥
36:04 “Why is he here?” Well, it’s a Wes Anderson movie, so of course Owen Wilson’s there…
Please oh please do Fantastic Mr Fox. One of Wes Andersons best films in my opinion! I find more amazing details and humour every time I watch it
What a brilliant reaction for an amazing movie. I hope you'll check out more of Anderson's work, especially Moonrise Kingdom... lots of recurring actors across all of his films
oh my god what a surprise. this seems like a colliding of worlds
The way you guys danced to the beeping sound hehe 😄😄
I love this movie!!!
When you think about the history within a history, this based-inspiration movie tells us about Stefan Zweig's life. An austrian writer/poet that flees from nazi-fascism europe in pre-WW2. Exiled here, in Brazil, even among all nature, beauty, love and good life, he can't stand the missing feeling from his homeland and commited suicide.
A warmheart movie for a sad real history. I think that theres a lesson here to be learned...
A car alarm started outside my window right when they started shoulder shrugging and it matched perfectly
If there’s any Paul Thomas Anderson films you have not seen, PLEASE give some of his stuff a watch. I absolutely love Magnolia, Punch drunk love, Boogie nights, hard eight and There will be blood, he has a few other films that are much slower but equally brilliant!
Yes 🙌🏻
Ya'll have to watch The Royal Tenenbaums and Darjeeling Limited!
Didn't expected this movie reaction but it's a welcomed one, great video...
I love all of Wes Anderson's work. This movie to me is peak Wes Anderson in all aspects; the style, the script, the acting, the comedy, the pacing, everything just works so well.
What's funny is they replaced boy with apple with an egon schiele piece hahahaha. Egon Schiele was a student of gustav klimt (i think) and his work is valuable in modern times at least.
I don’t comment much but I literally just rewatched this yesterday xD one of my favourite movies ever!
This is one of my favorite movies, and most definitely my favorite Wes Anderson movie! Also, the painting that gets hung up to replace the Boy With Apple was by an artist named Egon Schiele :)
You should check out more Wes Anderson.. This is the recurring cast 🤣
This is one pf my favorite movies. I love the little eccentricities Anderson puts in his movies like how everyone speaks so frankly and matter of factly. Or that everyone is emotionally repressed but then they fight like children
A nice surprise, this is my favorite Wes Anderson film
One of my favourite movies, this and Fantastic Mr fox. the humour just cracks me up
