    I bought exactly one like yours. I love it. I get 243-253 on eco with AC at Level 1-2. Winter range is 190-210 with heater on low.

    The torque does not ever get old! I first bought the wind edition & was impressed, totaled it in a mudslide purchased the GT. Wow. I rode a GSXR 1100 for several years - the Kia EV6 GT is that on 4 wheels. The power is also versatile. On both models I've pulled around a 2400 lb toy hauler- hardly notice it except for some wind buffeting. A couple tid bits to share: We can charge a stranded Tesla but not visa versa. The V2L adapter also allows me to power my RV with my EV and with such power I only loose 10-25% depending on load / terrain etc whereas the Wind ed. lost more like 40+%. I put a Stealth hitch, 19's with all terrain tires and wrapped the car with flat smoke grey immediately so a brand new paint job is waiting underneath same with rig. Done up with "The Dark Knight" theme. Auto pilot has saved me from an accident a few times! Enjoy in Peace brother!

    Congratulations! Remember, from a longtime EV owner, certain things like seat heaters are run off an independent 12volt battery and don’t affect range. Also, stepping on the gas in no more! It’s the accelerator lol

    • @TheHungryRoad
      @TheHungryRoad  Місяць тому +1

      Lol. You’re right, you’re right. But the seat heaters run off the 12V battery, but doesn’t something have to charge that battery too? So in a roundabout way, still have an effect on range? Funny. This morning on my drive to work I had to turn the heat on for the first time and it took a while for things to get warm. I was afraid I was going to have to call to have a service done.

    You don’t need to go through the menu. Just click the Green GT button on your steering wheel for maximum power. And please readjust your seat to a more proper position if you want to drive more spiritedly.

    • @TheHungryRoad
      @TheHungryRoad  2 місяці тому

      Are you sure man? I feel like you have to click the GT button AND go into the menu to make sure the battery is properly warm for optimal performance. I don’t always drive spiritedly so that’s why my seat is laid back. Lol.

      Thank you so much! I’d like to believe that I get the balance of that original manufacturer’s warranty, but there are rumblings of it only being 5-year, 60,000 miles from the original date the first person purchased the car if the car is transferred to someone else.

  • @volcalstone
    @volcalstone 2 місяці тому +1

    Congrats. What a great price as well. I recently got my pearl white 23 earlier this year. I got it down to $50K new. The red color is nice but I'm not really a red fan. I have to differ with you on the neon green calipers looking nice on the red. The blue will match more but I like this car in white, black, and matte silver the most.
    The auto open trunk is nice but I actually turned it off cause I would rather have a kick sensor instead of an auto one on Kia cars. Make sure that setting is on within your car.
    I did several mods with my car already and still planning on doing some more. I want to lower it as well but I'm gonna wait a bit for it. I don't want a bumpy ride when it's already nice the way it is.
    As much as I love the car I'll see if I'm gonna keep it in a few years. I might try to get the EV9 GT cause I want something bigger. 😀

    • @TheHungryRoad
      @TheHungryRoad  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you for watching and for your comment! I actually think white is probably my favorite color to go with the calipers. Red just pops and is louder. Lol. It’s also what sold my wife. I do remember the setting was turned off in my video on accident and I can’t remember if I corrected myself. What mods have you done? I’ve seen some pretty cool ones on Reddit. Carbon fiber emblems, spoilers and things like that that I’m also interested in.

    • @volcalstone
      @volcalstone 2 місяці тому

      @@TheHungryRoad My mods are mainly aesthetics. Blacked out my roof and added some neon green pinstripes everywhere on the bottom sides. I added a full PPF when I first got it. Tinted all the windows in Carbon including the windshield. Replaced the emblems with OE glossy black ones but will be debadging the back and getting a custom GT emblem in the front.
      For the inside get a matte screen protector if you haven't gotten one yet. It makes a big difference. I got some plastic glossy carbon fiber inserts to cover all the stock glossy black that I don't like. I got an Android box to watch UA-cam or whatever on the go which is super nice. I put some RGB lights on the inside as well. I got full coverage all weather mats everywhere as well. I want to replace the OE sub with something else but that will be later. I need more bass lol.
      Yes I think white is nice and that's the color that I wanted the most cause I didn't want to take care of a matte finish. If I did then that matte silver is super nice in person. Black looks nice but that would've been my last choice cause of the maintenance on that as well. I'm more of a gray car type of person. Girls tend to like white cars the most tho so I'm not surprised that your wife liked it in white. 😊

    Congrats! This is a really nice car. I traded my Stinger GT2 AWD for an Audi e-tron, before I knew this was coming. The e-tron had a 222 mile range but, with highway speeds in AZ it was more like 186 miles and yeah I ran out of juice once, never happened a second time. That being said, for work commute driving off the highway, I could get up to 250 miles. I would recommend you get a charger at home, most states offer low rate charging for EV owners, plus addition incentives, check your state's info on EV ownership. Overnight charging at home to 80% for daily use is the best way to prolong battery life. For long distance travel, the car (or App, A Better Route Planner is great) typically tells you how much range you will have left to next charge (depending on the speed you drive) so you don't always have to charge to 100%. I'm sure today there are a lot more chargers available for use for long distance travel, I really had to plan my trips from AZ to CA as the EA fast chargers were spaced 50-70 miles and some times they didn't work or were slow, 126F temps doesn't make for great charging, lol! Enjoy your ride!

    • @TheHungryRoad
      @TheHungryRoad  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you so much! This is all useful information. I definitely believe the chargers are closer together here in the northeast. I have a question for you though! What on Earth happened when you ran out of battery?! What are the next steps?

      @@TheHungryRoad I made a trek from Phoenix to Sedona, in miles it should have been fine but, I didn’t take elevation into consideration and skipped a charge point, as the traffic into Sedona was a lot, I went back to try to go to Flagstaff and the elevation increased as I went up (still driving at speed). I actually didn’t go to empty, I had 4 miles of range left and was in turtle mode, saw a tow truck picking up a car, stopped and asked him to call his office for a tow to the charger. After that anytime I was going to Sedona, I went to Flagstaff first to charge, then go to Sedona and then back home. It’s downhill from there. Some EVs have a bit of range beyond 0 state of charge however, most would go to turtle mode around 10% state of charge and the speed will also decrease. If you go empty, the car will come to a stop and from videos I’ve seen, you won’t be able to push them. They may start again after a couple of minutes to allow you to pull off to road or travel a bit more, meaning enough to maybe get it a 1/4 mile. There are a couple of videos from EV channels that run them down to 0 and also do range tests driving at 70MPH, they will give you some info on what you can expect if you get too low on charge. Hope that helps.

      @@TheHungryRoad Also, as you mentioned, the maintenance on EVs will be less. This one covers what you can expect as n EV owner: ua-cam.com/video/RpMgHspQ2Gg/v-deo.htmlsi=gytVaSTcTei2LwvA

      @@waynerm002. Thank you so much! As a “UA-camr”, driving the thing to 0 is something that I’ve considered, but I’m just trying to figure out if it’s worth the hassle to make a video on it. 😂 I don’t think so.

    • @waynerm002
      @waynerm002 2 місяці тому +1

      @@TheHungryRoad If you have a team with a portable charger, you could test it but, others have done it already. Just enjoy the ride, stick to he recommended charging range and avoid going to 100% unless you are doing long trips where hills are involved and you want an bit of safety for the climb, if there is a chance that will cause you to not make it to the next charger. Of course reducing speed also helps. Keep in mind that constant fast charging isn’t good for the battery, which is why it’s recommended to use a level 2 home charger or those in parking lots at malls, etc..
