This update is really good. It's main issue is that it is the last update. The game definitely feels much more like a complete game. We finally got pretty close to what it should of been at launch, but then they stop updating it. I expected the game to be like this and more at launch with updates adding cool new things (minor and major). Instead we got an unfinished game and it was finished a year later, but called 2.0. This game should have gotten many more updates. It could keep getting updates for a long time. One update could add the minigames Island back and overall more things to do in multiplayer. Another could be a villager overhaul that adds a lot of new dialogue and fixes many of the issues with New Horizons villagers. They already have multiple other games to look back on to figure out how to fix these villagers (and fans online pitching ideas on how to improve them). This update improved them slightly, but nowhere near enough. Another update could add Nook's Cranny upgrades and Gracie Grace plus her furniture (they could add the Nintendo furniture in this update). Also I know Kicks is already on Harv's Island, but I would like if you could get him as an upgrade to the Able sisters in the attic or basement or something. We could also get things like a shopping cart in the changing room (I am so tired of going in and out to get multiple outfits). I could go on and on for update ideas. This game is pretty good, but it had huge potential to be absolutely incredible. I really like designing (I love the other life Sim features too which is why I am still disappointed in New Horizons), so this is still my 3rd favorite Animal Crossing game after New Leaf and Gamecube.

Villagers also ask for different favours now. Like pinging you to catch a fish or bug. They used to ask for these but it was very rare and you had to talk to them a tonne.
i honestly agree w you on most of these, a lot of the new features really make it feel like a whole game. Also yeah as someone who's been playing these games since 2010 I can agree this roost compared to others-or wait not even compared to the others its just lacking tbh. Like, dont get me wrong, im super happy that they put it in the game, but just, compared to the other roosts in previous games it gets pretty boring. You can actually invite your villagers over to the happy home paradise and bring them to the facilities over there. It allows for so much more interactivity with villagers which is nice, but yeah I absolutely get what you mean
Great video! I really wish they didn’t release a $25 DLC expansion for the game since that development time could’ve went to making the base game feel more complete. I still think it’s a sin that we only have one Nooks upgrade. Overall the update makes the game better, but nowhere near good /complete enough to compete with New Leaf.
I think the expansion is really good for people who like the designing (like me). I don't think they should of not made it. I think the solution was to release this update, but not make it the last major update. This game should get many more major updates. It could keep getting updates for a long time. Some update examples are a multiplayer/Minigames update and a villager overhaul update.
I absolutely love the new horizons gyroids, by far the best gyroids in the series imo. I love the roost amiibos, I can finally talk to my man porter and I love it. Also I think people aren’t talking enough about the new villagers like ace and chabwick, the ones that are returning. I think this opens a lot of doors and shows that more villagers might return over (please god bring back champ)
Starting a new island now that the game has been completed is a different experience. I enjoy it a lot but im still sour that it took a couple years after launch to add activies that were included in previous games at launch. I don't like the trend of games being launched unfinished and then patched as they go especially for full price titles. There's so much to do each day now so you can actually play as it was meant to if you like without running out of stuff to do. That was a problem and many people stopped playing until the next update only to feel guilty returning to a weed ridden town and villagers making you feel guilty lol. To be clear i LOVE the game and i have many hundreds of hours and still counting so i definitely got my moneys worth. I'm passionate about the series because i grew up with it & pokemon so i critique it because i want the series to keep evolving. I think the game has one major issue left after all updates. The villagers personalities have been lack luster and a big part of enjoyment for me was the villagers and their relationships with each other. They don't need to be mean but they need variety in their lines. Their hollowness means people only care about how they look, making the game feel like a doll house instead of a life sim. The holidays need work, make crafting items in multiples possible, and mini games reminiscent of tortimers island would be cool. Outside of that, this game added a lot of awesome things to the series i hope stay. Decorating your island, crafting, terraforming, farming, cooking, and being able to move most buildings. I love & appreciate the work they did! The last thing i think should have been handled differently is the one island per switch especially when most people were struggling financially. I feel for those with multiple kids fighting because the older one likes to make a nice island and the younger one just enjoys destroying everything. 😂 $200 - $300 for another model of switch plus $60 per game card if they want to play at the same time is just not really a good way to treat your fans. I know having one island per user on switch wouldn't make them much money but they could meet consumers in the middle by having it be like old games...one island/town per cartridge. Its cheaper to buy multiple game cards then whole systems. I don't have kids but i do feel for those who do. Nintendo is supposed to be a family friendly company but this felt greedy especially when the game was incomplete at launch. It took 2 years to finish it. 😅
Old video I know, and maybe you learned what a greenroom is already but in the event you haven't. A greenroom is a location for performers, most commonly actors, to wait before, during and after a performance. Basically it's a lounge for performers to wait for their cue.
I enjoyed HHD and playing HHP is the same. They don't really penalize or give praise on minor design choices but one comment i got was when I spent like probably an hour on one house and got a comment thanking me for spending time on the detailes etc etc

Personally, I think you should have rated Villagers just a little higher (Either a 6.5 or maybe a 7). Me and other players could be wrong about this, but we have noticed that their regular dialogue seems less repetitive compared to before. The typical dialogue I expect from them doesn't seem to be constant anymore. I dont know what the devs did but they either: -added new dialigue or -Changed the occurence of some existing dialogue so you don't run into the same ones on a constant basis
it a shame they half ass it tho. you get Capp'n but not the mini games. you get a shopping district but it's slightly stank. brewster but it's only a café no job or show... that's just the ones I can think of.

So in your comment response video 2 after the DLC came out you talked about how Nintendo would have mentioned these other upgrades like better villager dialogue in the DLC if they had been added. Obviously since the update we've found a lot of stuff they didn't include then. Your mistake was trusting Nintendo to make a good business decision and caring about long time players of this game. For the record, I mostly agreed with you but I also knew it was too logical for this company. And so Nintendo remains to somehow be both the best and the worst video game company at the same time.
I still believe that if big features were to be included such as more complex villagers or bulk crafting or a bigger shop (basically anything to please longtime fans or the not so casual crowd,) Nintendo would have mentioned it in the direct merely for the viral reaction. Obviously they did end up adding a lot of unspoken things, and while I initially thought that it would be because they wanted to encourage anyone with doubts that their favorite thing may still be in the game, I now recognize that it's because the things they added were too small and trivial to bring up in a direct that also has Brewster and Gyroids. Like imagine them giving time just to say "DIYs go in storage now, woooo." It would have been a waste and seemed underwhelming as an announcement because it's literally so simple. And that's one of my main points of criticism. It's SO simple that it should have just always been included in the first place. It doesn't take much coding time to allow a DIY to fit where all other items can go.

I mean, I’m being nitpicky and maybe these small little features & things wouldn’t have made a difference if they were included, but despite it all there is one huge feature they missed IMO., which was Cyrus now being able to customize basically any item. That changes the game entirely for people and was one of the most annoying parts of the game since the store only held 5 random items of random colors. Now if you have one item, you can get any color you want very easily, and Nookazon is imploding from that. Personally if I had stopped playing that feature alone would have made me pick it back up. Either way, it’s over now and we are all happy to be finding these upgrades so I’m gonna try not to pointlessly complain more, I just never know what to expect from them.

If you put a lot of time and attention into a design house the villagers with mention you put a lot of time into it.
The lack of gracie grace and nooks upgrades made me stop playing this game, new leaf is still the superior game
