I have found out that if you talk to them more than once a day they give you more interesting dialogue but it’s still kind (which I am personally fine with)

@Compte Secondaire What the actual frick happened with Super Mario Odyssey, or Zelda:Breath of the Wild? Those games are super good, even Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, one of the best selling games on the switch, had love and passion put into it. They didn't need to make the battle mode good, they didn't need to add new characters, but they did anyways.
I think New Horizons needs more buildings and villagers. There are so little buildings that your island can feel like their island is like a real city. I’d love to get more villagers.
You can create more profiles to get more houses/tents. You can turn them into cafes, restaurants, hotels, doctors offices, etc. It’s not the best solution, but it can help make your island feel more ‘full’.
we don’t need more villagers, we need better villager personalities. we can have up ten villagers per island. there is only 8 personality types which means you can 2 extra lazy, peppy, cranky, normal etc. and if we get more villagers without more personality in them, the island villagers will get boring

I miss Blathers, Nook and other NPCs having a gloomy day, so you could talk to them to hear a personal story. This happened on specific dates for lots of NPCs in Wild World and it was so awesome to catch one of these, because the NPCs felt more and more like real people with real problems. And message bottles containing random letters not just DIYs. This is such a missed opportunity imo, because it was a very charming feature in Wild World. Also, yes, the dialogue is boring but I could totally live with that if we got a lot of quality of life improvements instead. Sahara's dialogue is so tedious and the fish/bug tournament dialogues are horribly structured as well. And we all know about the changing room issue.
I wish there was a "cranky is cranky" or "islanders are friendlier" option just so we can pick between dialogue types. That way little kids won't shit their pants and older players can actually have fun. I also wish we could voluntarily bring Mr Resetti back in SOME form a la New Leaf. I know autosave has rendered his old job useless, but a not-even-cameo in the rescue service app doesn't cut it for me. I want his lil manhole cover back and for me to be able to visit his base after it rains again :(
I don't know if you played pocket camp, but there were some furniture items that caused cameos from the special villagers. There was a little chair for KK slider, and a telescope that made Celeste "visit" and I think like a little coffee cart thing that would make Brewster appear. I think in NH it would be cool if they did something similar for characters whose job is taken by someone else. Like maybe the Resetti bros could have a little mole hill or manhole cover that you could interact with and they would pop up. Could be a use for my too many nook miles.
I love your idea of there being a switch so you can have real villagers and resetti! Maybe if your switch has the parent lock maybe you wouldnt be able to switch unless yur parents allow it! But honestly, parentlock ruins the switch
nah, there shouldn’t be an option. little kids need to learn that shit doesnt always go your way, or people dont always act nice to you. I know i sound like an old man.
I wish all the different villagers would have a more expressive dialogue. They always say the same things, they have like, 10 voice lines. It's not really all that fun talking to them anymore. Hopefully there is more to come 🙁
the feature i miss the most is the items that came from other games, i just thought it was funny when i gave a villager socks and they just give me the master sword edit: they’re adding mario items happy rhino noises
For me the real things missing are furniture/clothing variety and villager dialogue. I'm no longer excited to see what is in Nook's or the Able sister's everyday because it's rarely something new. Previous games had more furniture sets: astro, modern, regal, sleek, robo (and hands up if you miss GracieGrace sets)- why were those left out? And i also REALLY miss being able to go to Shampoodle to change my look. I liked that you had a limit to how many times you could change your hair and that sometimes it went wrong and you're stuck with a hairstyle you hate until tomorrow.
I agree that New Horizons is sorely lacking in the way of furniture sets, but the amount of clothing the developers were able to cram into this game is incredible, I cannot imagine what else they could possibly add.
@@jonathangiese5727 I'm definitely glad for the new clothing additions but clothing appearing in the Able sisters on a more strict seasonal basis means i'm only seeing the same items repetitively. So some might be in the game but i won't see it for a long time. It's also from a nostalgic perspective, so some pattern based clothing i've worn in every game i really miss like the yellow bolero, the dawn/dusk shirts, icy shirt, (my old ultimate favourite) the nebula shirt etc etc. Even if they were simple i miss the classics.
There's definitely a lack of furniture, the first few weeks I noticed everyone's houses looked almost identical because we only had a handful of different furniture sets. Seeing how they brought back the mermaid set as diys gives me SOME hope for the return of other sets either as diys or maybe even holiday/special character sets but idk :/ (also the fact that we can't change the color of items and that our color palette is locked only decreasing the variety we are able to see without trading online is dumb)
The easiest update would be a text based update. More dialogue lines, or changed up ones, would be really easy to do in an update. Its just text (very small file sizes).
Actually it's not. Localization (getting everything translated) is incredibly taxing, it costs them a lot and also has to be spelling checked, checked on approriateness etc. Even so, I'd rather wish for one massive text only update than a couple of other features....
Honestly, I miss getting absolutely *DESTROYED* by Sue E. Idk, it was nice to know that she hated *SOMEONE* while in ACNH, all your characters are happy with you.
I really want Tortimer Island to come back, I was playing New Leaf when quarantine started because I didn't have New Horizons yet and it felt like a real vacation, the music and the tropical vibe made me feel better about having to stay home.
Yes! I miss walking around the tiny island at night, looking for beetles, and listening to the calm music. I really hope they add it in the future, because it would really improve my experience

Animal crossing is different than other games, the creators actually listen to the fans, look at the paths,, they got added because people wanted them, and the gui glitch, alot of people were mad that it was parched so they added it as a feature.

The villagers are missing some personality thats for sure, they all repeat the same dialogue over and over and its really frustrating to the point where I don't care if I walk past a villager and ignore them whereas in previous games I would feel compelled to speak with them. The island could do with some more buildings, I really miss Brewster so having a cafe would make a huge difference to me having somewhere to go everyday and potentially see special characters having a cup of coffee would be nice. I also think that Leif or Kicks really need their own shops, I mean Leif probably needs it more than kicks he could sell plant decorations like in New Leaf not just plants.
I miss villagers moving in at random too, I know it sucked when they destroyed your flower gardens but it felt more real or something, sometimes I feel like we have too much power in new horizons, there's no more surprises, good or bad

90% of my game time is me running around doing nothing. I mean I actually like staring at the night sky and chill-axing in the game but at the same time i want to be able to go to Club LOL and hang out. there isn't enough hang out locations in the game, but the future we wait.
I loved the city from city folk. I loved just seeing everything there because it felt like an actual city rather then my kinda bland island at the time. I used to love getting my shoes shined from what I remember to be kicks. It just made the game feel more alive.
I miss all the different fruits in acnl like mangoes, lychees, bananas... I miss the home academy thing where you check out other people's houses and you can order stuff from them And of course I miss unbreakable tools
@@seafoam8845 It was much more fun to collect better quality tools in the earlier versions (which were difficult to get) than to constantly have to craft/buy crappy tools in the NH version. I remember the excitement I used to get from trying to get silver and golden tools in LGTTC (or CF, Americans) and NL. They were hard to get and last forever so you can forever feel proud of yourself for getting them, and even show them off. Especially if you didn't use the internet for help. Now, that excitement simply doesn't exist. It's not even decreased, it just doesn't exist at all.
@@cantin8697 Idk forever nonbreaking tools just to show off doesn't sound fun to me. I like crafting, the only problem I currently have with it is that its a bt annoying to not be able to mass craft.
I really REALLY miss Resetti. I know there's not much way to actually implement him due to the new autosave, and he's supposed to be the Operator on the Rescue Services app, but there has to be some way to put him back in that could help.
I HATED Resetti. Animal Crossing Wild World for the DS was one of my first ever console games, so the whole idea of manual saves took me awhile to get ahold of. I saw a lot of Resetti during that time, and later encounters with him made me feel like absolute shit. I know there are a number of fans who feel the games have lost a lot of their character and charm from the removal of these more cutthroat game elements and rude villager interactions, but Resetti’s absence from New Horizons is one change I fully endorse.
@@jonathangiese5727 I fully understand that! The main game I blissfully remember playing Animal Crossing through was New Leaf, which had the option to give a reason why you wanted to reset. Granted people would probably abuse that, but it's still better than assuming people were cheating rather than situations like yours. We probably won't be seeing punishments for even accidental resets back due to autosave, but Resetti himself as a character isn't too bad. I'm sure New Horizons could bring him back somehow besides some nameless Operator.
@@lucycocosanders1024 Hehe yeah, I think I heard an article on that. He did get _very_ harsh, and even the little dialogue we see now feels out of character since he's way easier on the player. Rudeness is nice to a degree, and was part of Animal Crossing's charm for a while. It shouldn't be too bad to add in at least a bit more of that.

There are so many new features that could have been added but weren’t. I really do love the update for every season, but I’m hoping Nintendo also adds things that stay in the game permanently with each update. My personal complaints are the Mystery Island Tours, and the fact that you can’t acquire any new land or visit a city that you can upgrade.

Hey this might be a sensitive subject, but i think online gaming is killing the videogame industry. More and more videogame company's can fart out a new unfinished game and call stuff that is missing future updates or life services. And i think it ruins the experience. Previous AC had ALL the content installed so why doesn't this AC?
I don’t think that it’s killing the video game industry. New single player games come out all the time that are really good and finished. They might add things that fans ask for but overall the game is finished. A good example of this is Ghost of Tsushima, it’s a finished game but there are some things people ask for. As long as companies push out really good games, the industry won’t die.
The whole animal crossing being unfinished is a yes or yes answer, first, I bet the first part of the production of acnh is probably making new features and adjusting to 3d, and since animal crossing been pixelated for years, it obviously took more time [and that's why I think those spinoffs were created, to keep the fans entertained] and then they announced a new animal crossing game somewhere around 2017-18, they couldve delayed it to make it complete but it's been years since new leaf release so they had to release it, so ac being unfinished is understandable, but I feel like the spinoffs shouldn't been created so they couldve have more time, but if a game has time to add the features but decides to release it unfinished, then yea, it's not good.
animal crossing is based on real time, so i think it makes sense to have updates so even people who time travel can have new features once in a while and don't risk spoiling all the mechanics to other players, also obviously if they waited for all the features to be complete before releasing the game it would take much longer to come out and would be harder to work on for the employees
New Horizons is still incomplete. Developers stated in a few interviews that they expect players to keep finding new things in at least two years so we could expect tons of updates in upcoming months. I still think that in the end, when the game is finally complete, New Horizons will have more things to do and explore than New Leaf had.
tbh new horizons feels kinda dead to me because I know literally everything that is going to happen, i know exactly what my villagers are going to say and i feel like i know every single detail of the game. i loved new leaf so much more because i kept discovering new things even years into the game. theres just no content lmao
IDEA let blathers have an unlockable personal collection that you can sell duplicate fossils to at a slightly higher price once you have finished the entire fossil section
Objects need waaay more interactivity. Imagine if you could pick up instruments and actually play specific notes, sit at a writing desk and write stuff down, eat with a dining set, get in a bath or throw a ball around. Oh, and for God sake, have villagers actually interact with stuff as well!!!
Honestly I think there should be a building animation for house constructions instead of having the plot just stand there having nothing done to it and suddenly there's a house there. And Resetti and Dom should both be part of the animation. I think that would suit them.
I brought my favourite villagers to New Horizons using my amiibo cards and they feel like empty shells of themselves :( I hope they build more character into them in the future. I miss random visit to my house, and I miss having playable consoles with mini games in them. Of course New Horizons is prettier and more advanced, but it's a little bit more bland personality wise.

It seems the only point of playing it is to build an aesthetic island, and mostly have that aesthetic island look just like everyone else's (either cottagecore or city). I mean, I love the ability for island customisation, but it feels _wrong_ having that be the only real purpose of the game. Especially when even that's lacking. You can't change the beach or rocks on the island at all, or the river mouths. You can't even move the resident's services building, either. Both of these are very irritating. Also, the power dynamic is completely weird. The game tries to tell you that you're equal to everyone else, but it doesn't show such. You're the only one with the ability to do anything. The villagers play no role in upgrading buildings. The villagers play no role in adding to the museum. The villagers play virtually no role in having KK Slider going to the island. They claim to be fans of him, yet the player does all the work in trying to have him there. They do nothing. They can't even have decent personalities. Yet the player can shape the landscape of the island and single-handedly control the buildings of the island. Yet, these villagers are seen as equal to the player? Nah, I think NH should've redone the whole mayor thing from NL.
Am I the only one who feels like there isn’t actually that much incentive to play the game? Most people point out that the villagers have little to no personality so they’re less of a lively presence and more of collectibles to add to your island, but I personally hate the fact that after the first month, apart from customisation, we don’t actually impact our world. All of the NPCs and their roles are added gradually into the game through updates or are condensed e.g. the dream suite, the post office, instead of what we do in the game. This condensation of certain aspects of the game take away a lot of character from the game in my opinion.
New horizons is my first animal crossing game and I already find it disturbing that the villager do not add much depth to the game by giving you some tasks or something, I expected to do more things with the villagers. But the rest of the game is just worth gold.
villager dialogue is a big one. i was really disappointed that the gem rock was gone when first got the game, too. and i kinda wish publics were back instead of it all just being furniture. And Where's Brewster!?
With villagers, the least I would like to have is that when two villagers say something like "where gonna go on a picnic!!" and then they go to the PICNIC, like they follow through with plans.

I think another channel, jvgsjeff, has listed (almost) every feature that didn't return in any way, up to date to NL. But, seeing that almost Everyone Is (not) Here, there's A TON of missing furniture, features and a big etc., and a lot of core gameplay mechanics need an urgent improvement, well... what can we say? Also, talking about PC: that's a mobile game, and has 3 times more furniture than NL!! I think that the Switch could handle it without a problem. (An Iphone 5 could, I tested it...) But well, let's just hope something gets released in the next few days... something is better than nothing...

I think it would be nice if they added the option where you can have the “Sweet Worded Neighbors” mode where they have generally nicer and calmer dialogue while also having a “Spicy Worded Neighbors” mode where their dialogue is much more rude, sarcastic etc akin to the older games
I never played new leaf but the whole store hours thing is my biggest gripe with new horizons which i got like 2 weeks ago. Its so dull, nothing is open, nobody is awake and then i have to change the time so no turnips just to play the game outside of working alone. As someone on a nocturnal schedule it's crazy to me that they go out of their way to de-centivize time skipping with turnips and the seasonal updates but dont make the game at all accessible for anyone on a nocturnal schedule. Blathers being nocturnal and is just like a kick in the nuts, they know some animals are nocturnal; but no way some people would be and still want to play the whole game, right? Honestly didnt even want to play anymore until i started time skipping which id rather not do in the first place. But without it it's a slow, lonely grind fest.
i mean, store hours have ALWAYS been a thing from what i remember :/ i really dont see the issue with it at all, it's one of the very few things that give at least some characters life. timmy and tommy probably have bedtimes bc they're literal children, sable and mable have to put away and set up inventory for the next day, etc. im not the most diurnal person either, but for me it gives me more adrenaline like "SHIT nook's cranny closes in like 3 minutes and i still have to get back and sell my stuff!!!" yknow? real stores have closing hours: why not game stores?

I did indeed have that issue irl until i moved to vegas, there's 24 hour everything here lol. If not the shifts thing i think they should put in a few nocturnal villagers (wake up in the afternoon, go to bed at 7am) at the least so i can at least have someone to talk to. Or at least give me the *option* like they apparently had in new leaf. We got back Town Ordinances, Music Boxes, Villager Play-Dates, Froggy Chair, Morning Aerobics, and possibly luck returning. Quite a few things on this list ended up coming true 🥰
I wish it was easier to find villagers. The megaphone in new leaf was kinda janky but it was really helpful to know where a villager was. The amount of searching I do trying to find a villager who's in the museum or in their home is annoying. We have phones now, it'd be cool if we could call our villagers and ask where they were.
I miss the old villagers. The ones that never returned for some reason! Like Meow, Bow, Nosegay... maybe not him but now that New Horizons has the most villagers in the series, Nintendo should bring 'em back.
I miss the dialogue and I miss old static. I'm wild world the little guy loved insults so much he got upset if you didn't insult him back or correctly. Make cranky villagers actually cranky. Yell at me for messing up something.
Tbh, the only thing I personally miss is having an observatorium in the museum. I loved creating constelations and then being able to see them in the nightsky, I also miss having the opportunity of being able to talk to Celeste every day. I get so excited during meteor showers at the beggining of the week because that means I can see her.
I’m planning to recreate one of my houses from New Leaf in New Horizons. It’s going to be a Japanese Inn with an onsen (bathhouse) in the back (in New Leaf, it was in the basement. I was excited to put the bathhouse outside)! The problem is...Virtually none of the spa furniture exists in New Horizons. I’m hoping they’ll be added in an update, but I don’t know what to do until then...
Maybe the only one, but I miss in New Leaf when your villagers would ask you for signatures on their strange petitions in the next town over. Gave you a good reason to visit friends and meet their villagers
i miss the wild world special days like flea market, la di day, and that autumn tortimer day that i don't remind the name of lmao. + i need all the villagers from the welcome amiibo to make a return along with some that are stuck to the first animal crossing. also, i think they should give us more time when a villager moves out to find another one for the spot. 1 day feels too quick for me.
I miss having the tree that would grow for as long as you played the game. The one in new leaf (Idk if it’s in other games too) I think it would be such a neat thing to implement. Being that even if you change around your entire island and start new, the tree would still show how long you have been playing the game
Hey, I’;be only just unlocked town hall and I’m wondering on what flowers I can breed. I’m trying out roses for now. Any suggestions or tips on how to breed more?
Start buying the seed bags for all the different kinds of flowers so that you can start breeding them. Also set up an area to breed them so you can get all the different colours. There are a lot of guides you can follow or flower arrangements to optimise breeding particular colours. Blue roses take a long time to breed. There are other flowers with a low probability to grow which are purple pansy, purple windflower, purple tulip, purple hyacinth and black Cosmo. Also without time travelling, to get all the colours from every variety, it will take around 2 months. You can speed up the process by getting friends to come to your island and water your flowers. Hopefully that was helpful 😊
I somehow miss this tree from New Leaf you would plant on the plaza on the day on your arrival, it would grow and grow and depending on how big it was you'd see how long you already have played and you'd sit on this brick wall that's around the tree and there you could see the dates when you arrived, shops opend up, nooks cranny became tnt market and so on and when your recent villagers moved in it was really cool...
What I miss most is the shops that made your island feel like an actual town. Like don’t you miss Re-tail and The Roost? Maybe they can add an option where you have the choice to move the shops onto your island. I really miss Reese and Cyrus, I get that Cyrus would be out of a job because of the work bench but seriously we need more than wedding photos.
tbh I played acnl way long than new horizons, more than years honestly, we're almost 5-6 months into new horizons and I haven't been playing it as much
OMG in city folk on some sundays there would be a flea market where you could buy things from your villagers houses and they could buy things from your house and it was SO FUN!!
new leaf definitely feels more home-y i went back into some old games and nearly cried its so much more warm and welcome the villagers there really cared for you and i miss that feeling with new horizons
5:27 Acnh is my first animal crossing game, but I can definitely relate with pretending to have friends from a game that totally aren't real. And the "having friends" part in general
Fetch quests! I only played New Leaf before NH but I think that's the biggest difference I noticed is the amount of stuff there is to do, my favorite thing was when my villagers asked me for froot or a specific furniture item and also hide and seek. The only real quest in NH is the treasure hunt which I've only played like twice because it's locked to a certain range in friendship levels and after you've become bffs with a villager you don't get to play treasure hunt anymore :(

@Compte Secondaire What the actual frick happened with Super Mario Odyssey, or Zelda:Breath of the Wild? Those games are super good, even Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, one of the best selling games on the switch, had love and passion put into it. They didn't need to make the battle mode good, they didn't need to add new characters, but they did anyways.

You can create more profiles to get more houses/tents. You can turn them into cafes, restaurants, hotels, doctors offices, etc. It’s not the best solution, but it can help make your island feel more ‘full’.
we don’t need more villagers, we need better villager personalities.
we can have up ten villagers per island. there is only 8 personality types which means you can 2 extra lazy, peppy, cranky, normal etc. and if we get more villagers without more personality in them, the island villagers will get boring

I miss Blathers, Nook and other NPCs having a gloomy day, so you could talk to them to hear a personal story. This happened on specific dates for lots of NPCs in Wild World and it was so awesome to catch one of these, because the NPCs felt more and more like real people with real problems.
And message bottles containing random letters not just DIYs. This is such a missed opportunity imo, because it was a very charming feature in Wild World.
Also, yes, the dialogue is boring but I could totally live with that if we got a lot of quality of life improvements instead. Sahara's dialogue is so tedious and the fish/bug tournament dialogues are horribly structured as well. And we all know about the changing room issue.

I wish there was a "cranky is cranky" or "islanders are friendlier" option just so we can pick between dialogue types. That way little kids won't shit their pants and older players can actually have fun. I also wish we could voluntarily bring Mr Resetti back in SOME form a la New Leaf. I know autosave has rendered his old job useless, but a not-even-cameo in the rescue service app doesn't cut it for me. I want his lil manhole cover back and for me to be able to visit his base after it rains again :(

I don't know if you played pocket camp, but there were some furniture items that caused cameos from the special villagers. There was a little chair for KK slider, and a telescope that made Celeste "visit" and I think like a little coffee cart thing that would make Brewster appear. I think in NH it would be cool if they did something similar for characters whose job is taken by someone else. Like maybe the Resetti bros could have a little mole hill or manhole cover that you could interact with and they would pop up. Could be a use for my too many nook miles.

I wish all the different villagers would have a more expressive dialogue. They always say the same things, they have like, 10 voice lines. It's not really all that fun talking to them anymore. Hopefully there is more to come 🙁

For me the real things missing are furniture/clothing variety and villager dialogue.
I'm no longer excited to see what is in Nook's or the Able sister's everyday because it's rarely something new. Previous games had more furniture sets: astro, modern, regal, sleek, robo (and hands up if you miss GracieGrace sets)- why were those left out?
And i also REALLY miss being able to go to Shampoodle to change my look. I liked that you had a limit to how many times you could change your hair and that sometimes it went wrong and you're stuck with a hairstyle you hate until tomorrow.

I agree that New Horizons is sorely lacking in the way of furniture sets, but the amount of clothing the developers were able to cram into this game is incredible, I cannot imagine what else they could possibly add.
@@jonathangiese5727 I'm definitely glad for the new clothing additions but clothing appearing in the Able sisters on a more strict seasonal basis means i'm only seeing the same items repetitively. So some might be in the game but i won't see it for a long time.
It's also from a nostalgic perspective, so some pattern based clothing i've worn in every game i really miss like the yellow bolero, the dawn/dusk shirts, icy shirt, (my old ultimate favourite) the nebula shirt etc etc. Even if they were simple i miss the classics.
There's definitely a lack of furniture, the first few weeks I noticed everyone's houses looked almost identical because we only had a handful of different furniture sets. Seeing how they brought back the mermaid set as diys gives me SOME hope for the return of other sets either as diys or maybe even holiday/special character sets but idk :/ (also the fact that we can't change the color of items and that our color palette is locked only decreasing the variety we are able to see without trading online is dumb)

The easiest update would be a text based update. More dialogue lines, or changed up ones, would be really easy to do in an update. Its just text (very small file sizes).
Actually it's not. Localization (getting everything translated) is incredibly taxing, it costs them a lot and also has to be spelling checked, checked on approriateness etc. Even so, I'd rather wish for one massive text only update than a couple of other features....

Animal crossing is different than other games, the creators actually listen to the fans, look at the paths,, they got added because people wanted them, and the gui glitch, alot of people were mad that it was parched so they added it as a feature.

The villagers are missing some personality thats for sure, they all repeat the same dialogue over and over and its really frustrating to the point where I don't care if I walk past a villager and ignore them whereas in previous games I would feel compelled to speak with them.
The island could do with some more buildings, I really miss Brewster so having a cafe would make a huge difference to me having somewhere to go everyday and potentially see special characters having a cup of coffee would be nice. I also think that Leif or Kicks really need their own shops, I mean Leif probably needs it more than kicks he could sell plant decorations like in New Leaf not just plants.
I miss villagers moving in at random too, I know it sucked when they destroyed your flower gardens but it felt more real or something, sometimes I feel like we have too much power in new horizons, there's no more surprises, good or bad

90% of my game time is me running around doing nothing. I mean I actually like staring at the night sky and chill-axing in the game but at the same time i want to be able to go to Club LOL and hang out. there isn't enough hang out locations in the game, but the future we wait.

I loved the city from city folk. I loved just seeing everything there because it felt like an actual city rather then my kinda bland island at the time. I used to love getting my shoes shined from what I remember to be kicks. It just made the game feel more alive.

@@seafoam8845 It was much more fun to collect better quality tools in the earlier versions (which were difficult to get) than to constantly have to craft/buy crappy tools in the NH version.
I remember the excitement I used to get from trying to get silver and golden tools in LGTTC (or CF, Americans) and NL. They were hard to get and last forever so you can forever feel proud of yourself for getting them, and even show them off. Especially if you didn't use the internet for help.
Now, that excitement simply doesn't exist. It's not even decreased, it just doesn't exist at all.

I really REALLY miss Resetti. I know there's not much way to actually implement him due to the new autosave, and he's supposed to be the Operator on the Rescue Services app, but there has to be some way to put him back in that could help.
I HATED Resetti. Animal Crossing Wild World for the DS was one of my first ever console games, so the whole idea of manual saves took me awhile to get ahold of. I saw a lot of Resetti during that time, and later encounters with him made me feel like absolute shit.
I know there are a number of fans who feel the games have lost a lot of their character and charm from the removal of these more cutthroat game elements and rude villager interactions, but Resetti’s absence from New Horizons is one change I fully endorse.

@@jonathangiese5727 I fully understand that! The main game I blissfully remember playing Animal Crossing through was New Leaf, which had the option to give a reason why you wanted to reset. Granted people would probably abuse that, but it's still better than assuming people were cheating rather than situations like yours.
We probably won't be seeing punishments for even accidental resets back due to autosave, but Resetti himself as a character isn't too bad. I'm sure New Horizons could bring him back somehow besides some nameless Operator.

Rudeness is nice to a degree, and was part of Animal Crossing's charm for a while. It shouldn't be too bad to add in at least a bit more of that.

There are so many new features that could have been added but weren’t. I really do love the update for every season, but I’m hoping Nintendo also adds things that stay in the game permanently with each update. My personal complaints are the Mystery Island Tours, and the fact that you can’t acquire any new land or visit a city that you can upgrade.
They should add a needy personality, like it says “Hi Evelyn!” 5 times everyday and compliments you and gives you stuff

Hey this might be a sensitive subject, but i think online gaming is killing the videogame industry.
More and more videogame company's can fart out a new unfinished game and call stuff that is missing future updates or life services.
And i think it ruins the experience.
Previous AC had ALL the content installed so why doesn't this AC?
I don’t think that it’s killing the video game industry. New single player games come out all the time that are really good and finished. They might add things that fans ask for but overall the game is finished. A good example of this is Ghost of Tsushima, it’s a finished game but there are some things people ask for. As long as companies push out really good games, the industry won’t die.
The whole animal crossing being unfinished is a yes or yes answer, first, I bet the first part of the production of acnh is probably making new features and adjusting to 3d, and since animal crossing been pixelated for years, it obviously took more time [and that's why I think those spinoffs were created, to keep the fans entertained] and then they announced a new animal crossing game somewhere around 2017-18, they couldve delayed it to make it complete but it's been years since new leaf release so they had to release it, so ac being unfinished is understandable, but I feel like the spinoffs shouldn't been created so they couldve have more time, but if a game has time to add the features but decides to release it unfinished, then yea, it's not good.
animal crossing is based on real time, so i think it makes sense to have updates so even people who time travel can have new features once in a while and don't risk spoiling all the mechanics to other players, also obviously if they waited for all the features to be complete before releasing the game it would take much longer to come out and would be harder to work on for the employees

New Horizons is still incomplete. Developers stated in a few interviews that they expect players to keep finding new things in at least two years so we could expect tons of updates in upcoming months.
I still think that in the end, when the game is finally complete, New Horizons will have more things to do and explore than New Leaf had.

Objects need waaay more interactivity. Imagine if you could pick up instruments and actually play specific notes, sit at a writing desk and write stuff down, eat with a dining set, get in a bath or throw a ball around.
Oh, and for God sake, have villagers actually interact with stuff as well!!!

I headcanon that Mr. Resetti created an autosave machine in order to prevent people from resetting.
Honestly I think there should be a building animation for house constructions instead of having the plot just stand there having nothing done to it and suddenly there's a house there.
And Resetti and Dom should both be part of the animation.

I brought my favourite villagers to New Horizons using my amiibo cards and they feel like empty shells of themselves :( I hope they build more character into them in the future. I miss random visit to my house, and I miss having playable consoles with mini games in them. Of course New Horizons is prettier and more advanced, but it's a little bit more bland personality wise.

It seems the only point of playing it is to build an aesthetic island, and mostly have that aesthetic island look just like everyone else's (either cottagecore or city).
I mean, I love the ability for island customisation, but it feels _wrong_ having that be the only real purpose of the game. Especially when even that's lacking. You can't change the beach or rocks on the island at all, or the river mouths. You can't even move the resident's services building, either. Both of these are very irritating.
Also, the power dynamic is completely weird. The game tries to tell you that you're equal to everyone else, but it doesn't show such. You're the only one with the ability to do anything. The villagers play no role in upgrading buildings. The villagers play no role in adding to the museum. The villagers play virtually no role in having KK Slider going to the island. They claim to be fans of him, yet the player does all the work in trying to have him there. They do nothing. They can't even have decent personalities. Yet the player can shape the landscape of the island and single-handedly control the buildings of the island. Yet, these villagers are seen as equal to the player? Nah, I think NH should've redone the whole mayor thing from NL.

Am I the only one who feels like there isn’t actually that much incentive to play the game? Most people point out that the villagers have little to no personality so they’re less of a lively presence and more of collectibles to add to your island, but I personally hate the fact that after the first month, apart from customisation, we don’t actually impact our world. All of the NPCs and their roles are added gradually into the game through updates or are condensed e.g. the dream suite, the post office, instead of what we do in the game. This condensation of certain aspects of the game take away a lot of character from the game in my opinion.
New horizons is my first animal crossing game and I already find it disturbing that the villager do not add much depth to the game by giving you some tasks or something, I expected to do more things with the villagers. But the rest of the game is just worth gold.
villager dialogue is a big one. i was really disappointed that the gem rock was gone when first got the game, too. and i kinda wish publics were back instead of it all just being furniture.

The villagers were always nearly the only reason to play AC for me, maybe that's the reason why I am so disappointed and play NH rarely...
I think another channel, jvgsjeff, has listed (almost) every feature that didn't return in any way, up to date to NL.
But, seeing that almost Everyone Is (not) Here, there's A TON of missing furniture, features and a big etc., and a lot of core gameplay mechanics need an urgent improvement, well... what can we say?
Also, talking about PC: that's a mobile game, and has 3 times more furniture than NL!! I think that the Switch could handle it without a problem. (An Iphone 5 could, I tested it...)
But well, let's just hope something gets released in the next few days... something is better than nothing...

I think it would be nice if they added the option where you can have the “Sweet Worded Neighbors” mode where they have generally nicer and calmer dialogue while also having a “Spicy Worded Neighbors” mode where their dialogue is much more rude, sarcastic etc akin to the older games
I never played new leaf but the whole store hours thing is my biggest gripe with new horizons which i got like 2 weeks ago. Its so dull, nothing is open, nobody is awake and then i have to change the time so no turnips just to play the game outside of working alone. As someone on a nocturnal schedule it's crazy to me that they go out of their way to de-centivize time skipping with turnips and the seasonal updates but dont make the game at all accessible for anyone on a nocturnal schedule. Blathers being nocturnal and is just like a kick in the nuts, they know some animals are nocturnal; but no way some people would be and still want to play the whole game, right? Honestly didnt even want to play anymore until i started time skipping which id rather not do in the first place. But without it it's a slow, lonely grind fest.

i really dont see the issue with it at all, it's one of the very few things that give at least some characters life. timmy and tommy probably have bedtimes bc they're literal children, sable and mable have to put away and set up inventory for the next day, etc.
im not the most diurnal person either, but for me it gives me more adrenaline like "SHIT nook's cranny closes in like 3 minutes and i still have to get back and sell my stuff!!!" yknow?

I did indeed have that issue irl until i moved to vegas, there's 24 hour everything here lol. If not the shifts thing i think they should put in a few nocturnal villagers (wake up in the afternoon, go to bed at 7am) at the least so i can at least have someone to talk to. Or at least give me the *option* like they apparently had in new leaf. This is my first ac since wild world as a kid and because i was on a school schedule i never realized how little there is to do at night

I wish it was easier to find villagers. The megaphone in new leaf was kinda janky but it was really helpful to know where a villager was. The amount of searching I do trying to find a villager who's in the museum or in their home is annoying. We have phones now, it'd be cool if we could call our villagers and ask where they were.
I miss the old villagers. The ones that never returned for some reason! Like Meow, Bow, Nosegay... maybe not him but now that New Horizons has the most villagers in the series, Nintendo should bring 'em back.

Tbh, the only thing I personally miss is having an observatorium in the museum. I loved creating constelations and then being able to see them in the nightsky, I also miss having the opportunity of being able to talk to Celeste every day. I get so excited during meteor showers at the beggining of the week because that means I can see her.

I’m planning to recreate one of my houses from New Leaf in New Horizons. It’s going to be a Japanese Inn with an onsen (bathhouse) in the back (in New Leaf, it was in the basement. I was excited to put the bathhouse outside)! The problem is...Virtually none of the spa furniture exists in New Horizons. I’m hoping they’ll be added in an update, but I don’t know what to do until then...
Maybe the only one, but I miss in New Leaf when your villagers would ask you for signatures on their strange petitions in the next town over. Gave you a good reason to visit friends and meet their villagers

Hey, I’;be only just unlocked town hall and I’m wondering on what flowers I can breed. I’m trying out roses for now. Any suggestions or tips on how to breed more?
Plant your flowers in a checkerboard style, so then the hybrid flowers can grow in the open spots!
Start buying the seed bags for all the different kinds of flowers so that you can start breeding them. Also set up an area to breed them so you can get all the different colours. There are a lot of guides you can follow or flower arrangements to optimise breeding particular colours. Blue roses take a long time to breed. There are other flowers with a low probability to grow which are purple pansy, purple windflower, purple tulip, purple hyacinth and black Cosmo. Also without time travelling, to get all the colours from every variety, it will take around 2 months. You can speed up the process by getting friends to come to your island and water your flowers. Hopefully that was helpful 😊

I somehow miss this tree from New Leaf you would plant on the plaza on the day on your arrival, it would grow and grow and depending on how big it was you'd see how long you already have played and you'd sit on this brick wall that's around the tree and there you could see the dates when you arrived, shops opend up, nooks cranny became tnt market and so on and when your recent villagers moved in it was really cool...
What I miss most is the shops that made your island feel like an actual town. Like don’t you miss Re-tail and The Roost? Maybe they can add an option where you have the choice to move the shops onto your island. I really miss Reese and Cyrus, I get that Cyrus would be out of a job because of the work bench but seriously we need more than wedding photos.

tbh I played acnl way long than new horizons, more than years honestly, we're almost 5-6 months into new horizons and I haven't been playing it as much
OMG in city folk on some sundays there would be a flea market where you could buy things from your villagers houses and they could buy things from your house and it was SO FUN!!
new leaf definitely feels more home-y i went back into some old games and nearly cried its so much more warm and welcome the villagers there really cared for you and i miss that feeling with new horizons

Fetch quests! I only played New Leaf before NH but I think that's the biggest difference I noticed is the amount of stuff there is to do, my favorite thing was when my villagers asked me for froot or a specific furniture item and also hide and seek. The only real quest in NH is the treasure hunt which I've only played like twice because it's locked to a certain range in friendship levels and after you've become bffs with a villager you don't get to play treasure hunt anymore :(
past kora would be happy to know that a good amount of these have returned in the 2.0 update
