Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway: Steam Santa Special Event - 02/12/23

The Steam Santa Specials were one again in full swing at the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway, with this one being the first of three weekend running events throughout the month of December 2023.
Hudswell Clarke NCB 1857 and Andrew Barclay No. 1 'Rosyth' were the two main engines top and tailing the Santa Express trains throughout the day, with this three week event being the last one for 'Rosyth' as she is due to go out of service by year's end because her boiler ticket has almost reached the end of its 10 year run.
I spent the entire day filming the first day of the event, so I had to wear extra layers of clothing to keep warm from the cold weather, and I enjoyed filming the event. All of the volunteers are also shown working hard and having a fun time with keeping the children and their parents entertained and making their visit an extra special one.
The weather was also bright and sunny, giving a sense of warmth to help tackle the bitter cold winter weather.
