- Hi guys, thanks for watching!
This is the final update on this project where we finish off the battery managament system. Huge thanks if you've made it this far through the series, your support means more to me than you could imagine! I will get the last of the files up onto the github in the coming days so if you wish to tackle this massive project yourself, you can!

Soldering QFNs is an art form. I got into soldering using those DIY electronic kits for practice within a few months I tried my hand at a DIY Adafruit Powerboost 1000C and what a learning curve that was. Everything SMD was easy even down to 0402 with a microscope but the QFNs even with a stencil took a bit of finessing.
Yeah, it sure is a challenge! I've already got most of the power management for the next project planned and I'm using this same IC so I might see if I can get it pick and placed to save me the headache of soldering it on! Either that or at least get a stencil this time because it's got to make it at least a bit easier
Man, congratulations! I`m very impressed!
Thankyou, feels great to finally be able to put some hours into playing it after all this time!
im still impressed of you work
이번에도 좋은 영상 잘 보았습니다. 감사합니다. Thank you!
You're welcome!
Zen deck loading.......
Can't wait to make a start on some parts for it! Still a bit more planning to do first though!
Sooo cool! Very interesting, thank you for this video!
Glad you liked it!
Cool man
Thanks!
Can some one make a link for the pcb's , im not sure to do the right things on pcb way to get what i need...
The default settings should be fine for these PCB's. Basically just upload files, select a silk screen colour if you want something other than green, and then hit submit!
Hi,
Thank you so much Dan!! I'm interested in buying the BMS fully assembled. can you may be offer the option?
I would buy it if you can ship it worldwide. if you are not interested maybe you can provide a link to PCBway to buy from them a fully assembled one that would be great.
Are you planning to use the BMS for this project specifically or something like it? I'm planning to make a more "universal" version of this BMS for the next project. It will have an edge mounted USB C port and a power switch integrated as well as output over USB as a HID UPS so your OS will know how much battery is left. There will be a version with a 19v boost onboard too for the computers that need it. This one I'm considering selling as a complete unit but I think the Nucdeck one might be too specific to make it worthwhile. I've also never had pick and place done before so I'm not yet sure how much work is involved but I'll look into it!
That’s sounds awesome!
I will be waiting patiently for the universal one!!
I will 100% buy few of them from day one and you may start now with pre-orders to have some budget for them.
Thank you
@@cncdan I would be interesting in purchasing one as well!
🎉🎉🎉
Why label external power as A/C? It's DC input, and doesn't necessarily come from an AC source 😜
Very true. I originally wanted to have something like "plugged in" but I'm pretty limited in terms of word length due to the LCD only being 80 pixels wide so I picked something a bit shorter. Open to suggestions though!
How about "On D/C" 😜
Amazing🎉
Im gonna like and comment on every vid until you get huge haha.
Gaming vids wen 🎉
cool man! Can I play cs2 street fighter 6 on this console List of games that support this console ,thx!
That's the latest one in the series isn't it? If so, there's a good chance it won't run it. Ideally, games that came out prior to about 2015 will run quite well on this. The new one I'm working on currently would probably run it though!
Not first!
Maybe not, but I appreciate you being here nonetheless!
First! First! First!
I love the nucdeck. It has seemingly less issues than the rng that you can pay for known as the steam deck. It sucks because some parts of britian such as the isle of white, Guernsey, isle of Lewis, etc don't count as a real place. I have been living with a steam deck that needs an rma because of a hardware failure.
Its the apu most likely since in the bios I have one of the earlier revision boards for the steam deck. Thing will crash out if its fed more than 10 watts. Its unfortunate because I like it. Assuming you're a brit, once i have gotten something that isn't going to trash out on me: you can have my deck to tear apart and do stuff with. Its only the apu (or power management?) thats jeffed.
It still has its issues, but it's definitely not perfect which is why I'm working on a new version! I'm actually not a Brit, I'm Australian! Looking at a broken steam deck would definitely be an interesting video for my channel in the future if you still feel like you want to send it over!
Mate, excellent job you're doing here. But this is not why I'm writing this comment. I can't help but remember this episode from IT Crowd while I listen to you :)

"Did you see that ludicrous display last noight?"
Do I really sound like that? 😂 Believe it or not I'm not super familiar with the IT crowd so maybe I'm just missing part of the joke or something?
@@cncdanon the accent part, yeah, you kinda do mate :) but not as "deep" as Maurice, he's exaggerating it a little bit. and it's cool, sounds much more "British" to me. Cheers!
You shouldn't make this on Windows - you should use linux distro like: HoloISO, ChimeraOS or Bazzite,
also for me device like this not useable without trackpads - so this is why only have SteamDeck.
I'm looking into options for trackpads for my next design. As for the windows vs linux thing, I've had this discussion several times since I began this project. Being an older intel cpu, the support in the steamOS clone linux distro's just isn't there. I tried holoiso when I first started the project but couldn't even get through the setup without running into major issues. I will try again on the next one since its powered by a modern Ryzen CPU so we should have much better luck!
Are you going to sell this? Like a kit?
Probably not. I'm working on a new version though that should be a bit easier to produce and is more flexible in its mini PC choice and I'm aiming to at least be able to sell some parts for that one!
