I blew out my knee when I was 15, finally had ACL replacement 23 years later, ending with TKR 18 years after that. I don't know if the muscles in that leg will ever catch up with the other. I'm working hard on it though.

Adam, I love your acknowledgment of the importance for parents to go back and apologize when they were wrong! One of the best things I ever did was learn to go back and apologize to my children when I realize I was wrong. It's a very humbling experience but it has been such a game changer for the relationship between me and my 5 kids.

Thank you for the conversation about moms going back to work after maternity leave. Few of us are blessed to have the option, and often give up career or dip deeply into savings to be able to be with our babies a little while longer.

That actually explains my chest growth and makes even more sense to me. Because i thought it was due to the fact that I lowered the training volume, not to overtrain, during my 30 days cut/challenge. It's a combination of the two, I lowered the volume plus I could connect more to my chest because of lowering it. I could tell the difference, but I didn't make the connection before. But, this is why, everyone must listen to you guys 🙏

I tried to add weight to my squat, ego lifting because I'm so anxious to be able to lift what I could in high school when I was playing sports. I recorded myself and saw my form wasn't perfect even though I thought it was. Back was hurting for days lol. Gotta get back into the groove, but now I have kids, a weak core, no butt, and no time😂. Whew!

This is double-true for lat-pulldowns. First 2 months of training I felt like I was using only my arms. Couldn't feel it in the back or lats at all. Blaming it on "It's probably something to do with me being tall". Then the 3rd month I'm trying so hard to get a mind-muscle connection to my back and lats doing lat-pulldowns and still only feeling it a little bit.
The key was going down in weight as I was doing way too heavy reps barely getting 6-8 reps using momentum and too much of everything else especially arms. Going DOWN in weight, then focusing on mind-muscle connection really trying to hit back and lats. Experimenting with grip placement. Following the advice on having elbows closer to my body and pulling the elbows behind the back - and FINALLY 4 months into training - I started to actually feel it in the back and lats.
It took me 4-5 months from being untrained to finally being able to train shoulders and lats/back properly. Lighter weight was key. Lighter weight and really focusing on that mind-muscle connection.

Learning how to be a great Dad by reading books is like doing an exercise that burns the most calories, great on paper but not built for real life. Ask your father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friends that have children for advice and give advice about your experiences also, that will build a great community.

I’ve had pain in my hips for a very long time. I have to get up slowly from the seated position. As I’m working out and getting stronger, I find that the pain is sloooowly getting better. Do you recommend a certain exercise to help reduce hip pain? Massaging helps but it is only temporary. Thank you.

My issue was the opposite with my biceps! Theyre finally growing now and im at 36 years old! I did plenty of volume perfect form i did partials full rom nothing did it. theyre growing now either because im a father and my daughter is getting heavier or its the chin up i started doing. I went from being able to to 1-2 struggle ups and a month later im doing 5-6 solid chin ups. Im trying to get to ten straight before i add weight!

I think feeling / connecting with a muscle is way overrated in weight training. Just work like hell to add another plate per side on your bench and watch your chest explode in size. Far more valuable than ‘emphasizing the squeeze / contraction so you feel it. Good way to stay small.
