    Hi Marco & Ian, great job on this video (and all of the breakdown post race win videos). As a newbie (only 2yrs in) from South Australia, there's some great tips to pick up from these videos and chats which I really appreciate. Great hobby and I will make it to Electric Dreams California some day albeit I might need a shipping container to get stuff home ..... lol
    Keep up the great work & congrats on the win Ian

    Congratulations Ian! bravo Electric Dreams on a great event that was as wonderful to watch as a remote spectator as possible. Wonderful to see a young guy on podium along with Jim Rose. Better luck next year Todd. Darkside's reign will end soon. I expect to see you on the podium next year. Hint stop truing his tires! I couldn't see anything beyond those that gave Ian his edge, except his playlist!

We don’t do that enough in our hobby, i understand we are competitive but I was really happy to see that! Now I’m waiting on the other videos for how Ian sets up his cars!! Congrats Again Sir

      Thank you so much! Without people like Braiden, our hobby will never grow. It's super important that any time we can bring others up with us, we take the time and energy to do so. People like Herman, Mike OD, Ron Hershman, George Russell (And many more) are the reason I am here - And I owe that towards the next generation - like Arlo.

      What can I do to get my chassis lower like yours? We use silicone tires for our series CB32 so I don’t know what else to do? Any suggestions?

      @@nflpicks4920 if you still have the plastic bushings in the front, you can remove them. Also using a thin braid like the nsr is helpful. If your club allows different guides, one that is thinner and sits higher into the car would help. And if you can run a 1mm offset pod, that would also help. But check with your club rules 👍

    Thanks for this, always curious what guys are doing to their cars. I’d like to know more about the sanding and truing of the rear tires, I use a hudy at home, and even without polishing they come out smoother than those tires, I’m wondering what tire truer is used and what grit paper? Thank you very much!

      @@idwurks thank you very much for getting back to me! May have to add that truer to the arsenal at some point. I had another thought for a video for you guys to do. It seems like most of the guys were running the true speed, Apex controller, there were supposed to be some follow up videos about that controller but they haven’t come through yet. Love how you guys show us the winning car . That final days racing was epic. Short of truing the tyres is there any additional preparation for the racing ? Tire traction glue or oils ? Greetings from Latvia....Harry

    • @idwurks
      @idwurks 5 місяців тому +2

      Hey Harry - Personally I don't like using the oil because it can influence other racers and their grip, and because its hard to get the same result every time. I only use it once in a while. Getting the car flat, square, and properly set up on all four tires is critical to the performance. A great car doesn't gaurantee a win, but a bad car almost certainly guarantees a bad time!

    Did not get to watch the race live, but enjoyed watching about two days later. Biggest problem was avoiding FB and other UA-cam channels so I could watch the race without running into a spoiler as to winner. Great drive Ian. I have one question. What was the most commonly used controller by the drivers. I am looking to upgrade and knowing what some of the best racers were using would be greatly appreciated. Already looking forward to next year.

    Hi guys, I enjoyed listening to the race whilst working on my cars.
    What is the track voltage set to?
    A question about the G25's do you find they ball-up? I've tried them on our wood track and find they ball-up although that was at 13.8V and we've recently turned the track down to 12V and finding the tyres absolutely love this lower voltage and tend to polish to a shine rather than tear. I've not tried G25's at this lower voltage but may be tempted to do so.

    • @idwurks
      @idwurks 5 місяців тому

      Cunningham Raceway is run at about 12.9v I believe. I've seen the G25s ball up when they heat up. I think, purely speculation here, that it may be due to the track surface. Electric Dreams has a very glossy epoxy surface, but I have heard of people having the issue you describe. I think it's when they heat up. G25s are crazy sticky, so they will also pick up a ton of stuff from the track. If the track isn't super clean, I could totally see that happening. Hope that helps!
