  • I'm sure that you are already aware of this but... the Great Barrier Reef is amazing! I took a boat out from Cairns, did 2 dives (my first ever!) and some snorkeling. So glad that I got the opportunity to do this bucketlist adventure!
    I also talk about the price that I paid for the reef tour and what it included, and about what my experience was - especially as a first-time diver. Hope that it helps!
    NOTES about the filming -
    Sorry about the lines and... stuff... on my face. shrug Oh well! :P
    The colors of the reef are very hard to bring out on the GoPro footage, mainly because deeper under the water, there isn't as much light. I tried to edit it to bring out more color, but it's even more vibrant in real life!
    Sorry if the GoPro footage is shaky in some parts!
    I love sharing my adventures! Please subscribe - there are always many more coming up.

    The Great Barrier Reef is on my dive bucket list! I feel like diving is very addictive, it's so relaxing to be under the water. It can be an expensive hobby, but I think it's so worth it. Thanks for sharing this video, I enjoy seeing your travels!

    I love your videos they help my wanderlust because I can live vicariously through you. I've been diving in Roaton HN. I believe it is the second largest coral reef in the world, second to Australia. Please continue to make videos. They are some of my favorites to watch on UA-cam. :-)

      Without college you have more opportunities to travel.Imagine you've finished college and started working.You could only travel once in a year.Find some job,work,have hope,save money and go.Look "draw my life" video from this channel and you will see that she was in aloooot worse situation than probably you are now.Never lose hope.Im also in crazy situation and 18 year old.I hope it gets better and i will be able to live life i dream of.Best wishes

    Diving at the GBR has been one of the highlights of my diving experiences. I have mostly dived the Caribbean and the Pacific Northwest (cold water diving is a different experience), but I really enjoy the clear warm waters off Cairn the best.

    Amazing how much diversity you can find in these reefs! I honestly believe it is impossible to truly appreciate these delicate parts of the world until you experience them for real! Recently did a dive in the Turks and Caicos islands, and pressure was not as much of a problem there because the sand banks tend not to go much deeper than 3 or 4 meters. The GBR is definitely on my list though!

    I know this is one of your old videos but I just discovered your channel (you've got a new subscriber now ;) ). I am going to Cairns next week and I think I booked the same tour to the Great Barrier Reef. I was just wondering if you used a Red filter for your gopro? I just bought one and this will be the first time I'll use it while diving, so curious to know if your great footage was with or without filter.

    Did you add an attachment lense out of curiousity to the go pro for those shots?

    • @Travellight21
      @Travellight21  7 років тому

      No I didn't - I just had to spend a lot of time editing the footage afterward, because it is quite dark down there and the raw footage came out all grey. I tried to bring back the color in editing.

    • @maccamracecar
      @maccamracecar 7 років тому +1

      Well the footage turned out beautiful with your edits. I did a lot of research on filming underwater b/c I wanted to film my snorkeling experience on a sea bob (underwater scooter) in St. Barts and what I found was that if you wanted your footage to turn out well, you would need an underwater color filter lens if you were to go more than 10 ft underwater. It may save you some time if you get one of these for the future. :)

  • @AlainTrentini
    @AlainTrentini 7 років тому

    Usually it requires a divers licence to go diving. How deep did you go? It's very dangerous if they take you deep. It is important that you keep breathing when you go up again. When you go up the pressure goes down and the air inside your longs expands and can damage them if you don't get rid of that air inside :) Once you go deeper than 18 meters you have to be very careful.

    so sad that a quite a bit of it is dead. Bleaching happened in a huge part of it. You must of missed it. not good for tourists. I did see some bleached corals though. they were all white.
