Yeah, travelling can be lonely. It’ll be nice to have a friend to travel with. But oh well, sometimes you have to find yourself and be the person you’d want to hang out with.
I love traveling to China, especially to Shanghai. I travel alone. I take mandarin cue cards of some common questions. It is extremely difficult to communicate in China. I'm missing out on a lot simply because I can not communicate. Nobody, I mean NOBODY speaks English. I wish I had a mandarin speaking friend with me or I might consider buying that translating device. Thanks for the videos.

Hey Jordan! Don't know if you're more drawn to non-fiction or fiction but "The Godfather" was an excellent book. First time i read it i devoured it! Which then led to a trip to the ER as all that glue and cellulose wreaked havoc on my digestive system... Glad to see Livio and Poppy making appearances! And yeah, like you said, longtime isolation isn't healthy. When you described how it felt when you see other people greeting each other at the airport that got to me...
Thanks for the book suggestion! A book led to a trip to the ER? This story must be told! I have read "The Godfather" and wrote a review, but it was not exactly a rave review so you've been warned haha www.librarything.com/work/4808/reviews/70576549
@@Travellight21 ua-cam.com/video/SeldwfOwuL8/v-deo.html Actually, you brought up some good points I'd noticed but never stopped and thought about. Yeah, Lucy Mancini was kind of like the "chowder chapter" in "Moby Dick." Could've been left out and wouldn't have made any impact. A couple *other* books you might find interesting are "Crash Test Girl" from MYTHBUSTERS Kari Byron and "Spy Dust". "Spy Dust" was written by Tony and Jonna Mendez, retired officers of the CIA.
I would suggest getting a job at an international school (if you have a teaching degree) or an English training center (if you don’t), get married to another teacher, both of you work at the same school, have children, and then you can travel with your new family over breaks (international schools have spring, summer, fall, and winter breaks). You won’t be lonely, and you can also travel the rest of your life! Most schools provide free housing so you’ll have a base in a foreign country. You’ll still need friends, but you’ll have a constant family that will always be with you along for the ride (well at least until the kids leave the nest).
Hello I'm in shiyan city hubei province , there are many beautiful places in hubei and other provinces , if you have difficulties in communication you can use baidu and Google translators or in big cities some Chinese can speak English , welcome to china ,欢迎来到中国
travel alone is the only way when people gives ton of excuses to not travel examples: don't like to travel, money, visas, language, what to do, or stay in hotel all day, fear... etc etc
if you have a lot of friends, then usually means you don't have real close friends. in life, you need a few besties, chinese word "gui mi" (for females). yes, travel could be lonely even you meet a lot of people. well, different ages do different things.

hey ladies lol just want to say "where is the bathroom" the Chinese translation from your tiny box is " where is the room to take shower" not "where is the toilet" minor difference to note, welcome to China, hope to see you someday in Chengdu haha~ cheers!
很高兴看到你来中国旅游,现在好多中国人英语水平也越来越好了,日常沟通还是可以的。希望以后有机会见到你。 loving you~

Actually, you brought up some good points I'd noticed but never stopped and thought about.
Miss you and Poppy from China
I would suggest getting a job at an international school (if you have a teaching degree) or an English training center (if you don’t), get married to another teacher, both of you work at the same school, have children, and then you can travel with your new family over breaks (international schools have spring, summer, fall, and winter breaks). You won’t be lonely, and you can also travel the rest of your life! Most schools provide free housing so you’ll have a base in a foreign country. You’ll still need friends, but you’ll have a constant family that will always be with you along for the ride (well at least until the kids leave the nest).
Hello I'm in shiyan city hubei province , there are many beautiful places in hubei and other provinces , if you have difficulties in communication you can use baidu and Google translators or in big cities some Chinese can speak English , welcome to china ,欢迎来到中国
travel alone is the only way when people gives ton of excuses to not travel
examples: don't like to travel, money, visas, language, what to do, or stay in hotel all day, fear... etc etc
I'm big fan, keep up the good work
if you have a lot of friends, then usually means you don't have real close friends. in life, you need a few besties, chinese word "gui mi" (for females). yes, travel could be lonely even you meet a lot of people. well, different ages do different things.
You're right, I can relate to all of that so much. I love that there is a different word for best friends in Chinese!
Thank you for this honest and genuine video, Jordan. Traveling solo can sometimes be a lonely experience. ❤️

That was the same hotel i stayed in a few years ago!!! I remember being in the pool and seeing all of those sky scrapers!! It looked like a painting out of some imaginary futuristic era. It was one of the most mesmerizing moments of my life. Nice to see you staying in that same hotel.
The view on top was insane!!!
Wow that's so cool Abe! It was really nice up there for sure.
Travellight how’s everything going? Any new plans? New countries? You need to take a break. You’ve worked really hard lately.
The video you make is always so wonderful!
