Instead sega decided to overuse green hill to the max and make fans hate it.

The green greens motif is one of the most amazing recurring leitmotifs every time it appears in a fight with a final boss. Kirby hails from dreamland in planet pop star and always starts his journeys in green greens or an equivalent. Every time he’s saving the universe from some galactic threat or eldritch horror, he’s not just fighting a monster, he’s fighting for his homeland, for everything that he cares about.
From the very start, nightmare in dreamland has Kirby confront king dedede and retake the star rod for his people. And when Nightmare is released, he doesn’t cower away, he follows that bastard into the hyper zone and defends dreamland with every fiber of his being.
Kirby is the perfect protagonist, his morality is always completely unclouded and he always gets the job done. The musical motif reflects this by reminding you that it’s not the theme of some immense eldritch horror or world ending calamity, without first being the theme of Kirby saving everyone he cares about from said entity. The raw power of some of these sections is a symphonic chorus the likes of which is unmatched in the world of gaming.
kirbo is basically a smart baby
It actually starts in adventure, since he does that again in the dark matter trilogy, which is between the two games
Underrated comment
Hyper Zone is the place where you fight Zero
You fight Nightmare in the sky (Orb) and on the moon (Wizard)
sorry to break 69 likes but i couldn’t not..
thanks for your comment-a pleasure to read and wonderfully worded
it reminds me of one of void’s pause menu descriptions in star allies
> *As the spring breeze blows, a young traveler appears. After greeting new friends and bidding farewell to old ones, his path has finally led him here. Let’s beat this guy already! After that, lunch and a nap!*
and far-flung starlight heroes too
> *Before they knew it, they were in deep space... Looking back, they saw that Planet Popstar was but a tiny glimmer in the distance. Kirby and his friends are determined to hopefully protect the peace (and tasty naptimes) of their beloved home! Now! Become a shining star and FLY!*
and in a roundabout way, kirby at probably his most solemn and raw after almost losing everything in mass attack, and being reborn under a new cohesion and direction, both as a character and as a series,
> *As Kirby flew home, he looked out across the cosmos. The stars were so beautiful. Darkness had its place just as much as light, he thought. For the stars sparkled twice as bright in the dark depths of space! As Kirby soared onward, he saw Pop Star in all its glory! Pop Star had never looked so wonderful. It shone like a brilliant beacon of hope. Kirby left the darkness of space behind, glad to be home at long last.*
kirby always goes back to the simple pleasures of eating when hungry and sleeping when tired under the peaceful atmosphere of dreamland, and i think his purity goes along with staying true to his instincts and devoted to his home-to peaceful life amid lush, bountiful greenery
green greens really ties it all together, in a musical way that’s hard to describe with words.
kirby at its core, both as a franchise and a character, is one that has never shied away from appreciating the moment and celebrating itself / its staples / its history / its roots
music is one such facet, where the series pays homage and tribute to itself through recalling / remixing old adventures or playing with elements of the current one.
musical direction in kumazaki-era games heavily utilize leitmotifs, perhaps best reflected in final boss themes, wherein the game main theme is given a dark twist and green greens / triumphant return serves as a heroic countermelody at the climax
(though i have yet to finish forgotten land and have been doing my best to dodge spoilers in the meantime so i can’t speak for it)
i think this aspect of kirby music really makes it all come together, in a musical storytelling sort of way. while each adventure has its unique tune with all its highs and lows (featured leitmotif), we can rest assured that some things never change (kirby returns triumphantly to green greens)
Void’s final boss theme being all Green Greens really hammers it home that “hey, that thing? That might be what Kirby really is.”
Honestly by kirby lore even you and i are void everything is void!
kirby and void arent the same or related. thats misinfo even creators debunked that theory

I love how there’s the entire Void ost there
it be like that
11:41 that part... Always broke my heart. Is not only the representation of void dead, is the symbol of his reborn into a new existence. The change to turns into better thing. To returns as friend.
To return to dreamland, one might say?
Something about kirby really brings together that feeling of "look how far weve come" when final bosses roar and fire up, when that familiar healthbar beeps itself onto the screen as if to say "it can bleed, you can kill it" and when the most grueling fight yet gets punctuated by the first piece of music you ever heard in this franchise no matter what game you started from. you feel its finality, you get flashbacks of your adventures through the tense chords and rhythm of the fight and they make every blow heavier
I love that there is valid use of the phrase "it can bleed, you can kill it" in reference to the kirby franchise
I really like how all the kirby final bosses take segments from the first stage it's really cool throwbacks
Because they're not the final boss theme per say, it's more so "this is where it all lead to" every final boss has a mix of everything that mattered to get us to the final confrontation.
Everyone has a point about it being Kirby’s “hero theme”, just a subtle motif to counteract the more menacing aspects of the songs. but the one at around 11:27 felt to me more like it was coming from void, like saying that under all the layers of fear and hatred, void still has a soul, calling out for help with a tune.
There's actually a bit of Green Greens in the bass of the first and third phase of Void Termina's theme that you missed in some of the "quieter" segments
Yeah and the astral birth void 8 bit green greens bit
i'm really curious about this, when exactly in those songs does it come up? ive never heard it before
They literally put 8-bit Green Greens and whole ass song in Void's theme and this guy didnt even include it. Smh.
@@neku-fn8dq Yeah. The entire damn theme is just a slowed-down dramatized remix of Green Greens.
@@PaintraSeaPea I can only provide the chip tune saddened green greens in void's theme, it's at the release date of dreamland
I love how it kinda sounds like Kirbys cute innocence overcoming every challenge.
This is kind of what makes Kirby music perfect. A little sprinkle of his heroic and triumphant tune, knowing that whatever challenge he faces, he's going to take it down and save the day. A song without this in this era of Kirby feels so lacking. It's like a flicker of hope in a room full of darkness. The song itself is telling a story, which is very important IMO
To think that maybe once Void was as friendly and heroic as Kirby. Yet in your fight against it, it's getting hurt by any kind of positive energy and friendship you attempt to give it.
Actually Void is just there and its neutral
Yeah he can incarnate in something good like kirby or bad like zero, depending on what defeated it
Void is the neutral, Termina is evil, Kirby is good
Hey, same pfp
Considering how much popstar been trough (mecanization, almost taken over by an eyeball,a thing from another whole ass planet trying to make it crash with another another planet...)i'm surprised green greens is still alive as a biome and that also goes to the planet popstar itself,like... damm that things sturdy
And Kirby megaton punching it continuously
13:38 Was of no mistake of blank space, but was that of the Birth of Dark. Matter being created in a Nightmare that became a Dream. In the beginning there was Land but through the stars became something Forgotten, and yet it may have been a Void. But with the stars allying together we were all presented to the new age. Like a new born baby he warped into existence with no explanation but he, who is well-known. It is he, who has become the True Star of the Show. But could one day that little baby become more than we all think? Only Time will tell. But for now, rest up and be lazy for now, just don't be too lazy for others may challenge you for it, but who's to say if your new enemies may become new friends. Bare your heart and know they need help just as much as you for the true Villains may lurk in plain sight.
One eye is all it takes, so be ready, Kirby

The picture at 5:15 helped make me realize *just* how many dark forces there are in Kirby's universe. You'd think with "natural balance or something", we'd also have seen much more (if any) "forces of light" by now, right? Aside from (arguable Light Matter, aka) Kirby themself.
I mean, kirby is sort of a one man army, he got the power of void but instead of causing harm he uses it for the good of all the people
Kirby do be one extremelly good boi to counter every bad thing out there
Also, i may be mistaken but i think I follow you on tumblr
Actualy Kirby is so packed with good vibes that the universe had to create like 12 beings of evil to bring balance
In the face of countless dark terrors, there is one being of ultimate good.
And, of course, his friends.
I fricking knew that I heard green greens in almost every boss theme. IM FINALLY NOT CRAZY
"Oh no, King Dedede has stolen food! Stop him!"
"Oh no, the fountain of wishes is in trouble! Save it!"
"Oh no, a group of thieves have stolen something important! Stop them!""
"Oh no, Meta Knight is about to start a global war using a battle ship! Stop him!"
"Oh no, a giant, planet destroying object is headed towards Pop Star! Stop it!"
"Oh no, an extra dimensional god of evil that's destroyed millions of planets, thousands of universes, and committed untold countless atrocities is about to destroy reality! Stop him!"
"Yay you stopped them all! Now lets have a fun food race to celebrate!"
"Oh no, a Angle Mouse with oversized ears wants to crash Popstar into another planet, time to Overrun him with a truck"
Some of this is also "Kirby's Triumphant Return" which was never in the original Green Greens. That came from the ending of Superstar when Nova got destroyed.
The C-R-O-W-N-E-D Green Greens will always be so good, it’s so dramatic and powerful. Like Kirby and Co. are fighting with all they got. It’s honestly so good, one of my favorite Kirby songs.
I like how the entirety of Sparkling Star plays, truly shows that Void was the ancestor of all, and it’s also a good sendoff to 2D Kirby!
i love how void termina just has the entire theme. they really just took the happy kirby theme and made it devilish and edgy
Leitmotifs are my favorite thing ever.
At this point, I'm fairly certain that Green Greens is the Kirby equivalent of some sort of blessed holy land.
Fiddlers Green (Green)
I was about to ask if Revenge of the Enemy even counted as a final boss theme, then i remembered taht it plays during phase 1 of Taranza/Dedede (which in itself is phase 1 of the final boss of the main story) and also phase 1 of dmk (final boss of dedede tour) so technically yes it is
I always forgot how the amazing mirror was a part of Triple Deluxe. Honestly kind of weird but super creative. Really shows how the director has been using the whole history of Kirby to his advantage. Totally appreciate it
7:31 tragically beautiful
I find this really interesting, because it feels like green greens is KIRBY’S boss music. Even the songs are fighting here.
As someone who started the Kirby series playing return to dreamland then actvily seeking out Kirby games it always makes me smile in the middle of the boss fight I am in everytime I hear that familiar tune. My heart will always remember the young 5 year old me trying and failing and then trying again to finally beat magalor. Now that I am older the games aren’t hard but I feel that sence of nostalgia every time I beat a final boss in Kirby. Thank you Nintendo for making a memorable franchise for the ages.
11:41 *audial sadness in green greens*
Kirby retakes dreamland from the wretched hands of his defeated enemies while Sabaton plays in the background
bro the final boss themes are already hype enough, adding green greens as a "stand up! you can win this battle!" is the cherry on the cake
i love this freaking franchise so much
Its beautiful, during the last battle with void the original green greens plays with a sad tone showing that kirby came so far, from saving dreamlands food to fighting a confused matter, all the friends he made on his way.
Maybe the jamba heart shards were the friends we made along the way
Every time I hear Green Greens leitmotif, it's like it bring me back to earth, and every time it reminds how tragic story is

I have mixed feelings on Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit not having Green Greens. On one hand, it makes sense thematically since you're not on or even fighting for Popstar until after the song finishes playing and the piece is one of my favorite pieces of music in the franchise, second only to the Star Conquering Traveler imo. On the other hand, All other modern Kirby games (disregarding Rainbow Curse) used the Green Green leitmotif in their final boss, and Forgotten Land bucked the trend.
A Full-Speed Farewell to the New World using the invincibility theme instead was an interesting choice, but one I feel paid off as well.
I often forget its green greens because of how much of a banger these songs are, the letimof just fits right in
