You can't fault the Bills or any team for cutting him. No one will have a player on the team with an active r*pe investigation. It's really on the criminal justice system to get that done as quickly as possible. Had SD police investigated this in a timely manner then maybe dude is still on the Bills. The media found out about this last summer bc the "victim" filed a civil suit because the criminal investigation had stalled. Had SD done what they needed to do from the start, the investigation finds out he (and the other SDSU football players that were also accused) had left the party before the alleged attack happened, it's a non-story. There's no civil suit. And we probably don't even know about this. Araiza will probably be invited to some team's training camp. But if I'm him, I'm looking at my options for suing the city. The victim too, but I doubt that's as lucrative. If you can't investigate an underage gang r*pe in a timely manner, what are you doing with your time? It's San Diego, I doubt they had a ton of more serious crimes than this on their plate.

@@hurricanestarang I did not like Perna's take on this story. When the story first broke, he shit on Matt and constantly made jokes at his expense. Sure, at the time, people thought he was guilty but Perna has a tendency to run with stuff like that for comedy material.
However, his video reporting this new version of the story came off more......insincere. He didn't apologize for his jokes, he still didn't really treat Matt with much respect and you could tell he was still treating the girl with kid gloves and not really saying she should be reprimanded for this because he is still showing some sympathy for her.
His whole video had a whole "Well......might have got this wrong.....my bad" vibe to it than what Flemlo does, who brings genuine heart and honesty to the discussion and also shows respect to Matt, who is the actual victim in this, and not just still trying to find sympathy for the female responsible.
Perna's take was kind of garbage. A lot of his comments section was calling him out for it. I heard Tree's Twitter response was far more nuanced and better but Perna's video felt like it was made because he HAD to make it because the original story was wrong and he ragged on the dude but Flemlo is the superior take.
That's why I'd rather go to Flemlo for serious sports stories like this than someone like Perna. I still love Perna's show and his channel......just thought he was disingenuous about this story.

Charges need to start happening to accusers who are proven to be 100% lying. Also the media and the 2 brain cell people who see someone "accused" should stop immediately acting they are guilty. It is supposed to be Innocent until proven guilty. I also think he should either get is chance back or the bills need to step up and do something.

Until the false ACCUSERS start getting in trouble this will not stop. It’s bad that these teams act like this before the guy is found guilty. Suspend him until you figure out the truth. Man I’m so sick of seeing this BS! When we gonna realize we don’t need to believe all of them! They sometimes lie!

Rewriting my comment because I recognize it wasn't solution oriented. Still coming from my perspective as an attorney, here are my thoughts:
At the end of the day, SA will always be the hardest crime to prove because it's the only crime where you have to prove the victims intent as well as the accused (for comparison: no is reasonably going to assume that a person consented to being shot, and even if they did that's not a defense). So making it more difficult to report or for police to investigate is not a viable solution. However, one thing that could help is more strict reporting laws. For instance, in some European countries (I believe either the UK or Czech), the media can't report on people accused of a crime until they are actually convicted. This will limit the amount of people being publicly executed before they get a fair trial. Further, I still hold that if evidence shows an alleged victim has *clearly* lied (proven beyond reasonable doubt), they should face the maximum possible sentence for the crime they accused the person of committing, plus a perjury charge.

15:47 People "...manipulate the law into their favor." The problem is that there are laws that are felonies that actually do cover this situation, especially in CA, that are never pursued, because the prosecutor's either forget about those laws, or they are chided into not pursuing those cases in deference to "it will cause real victims to not come forward."
First, any prosecutor that can't convince the public that prosecuting false accusations is in the public interest might want to consider a career change. Next, the two laws that I can think of from the top of my head, having grown up in CA, are 1 - false reporting of a crime, 2 - perjury of sworn testimony relative to a criminal case, 3 - criminal slander. Those last two are felonies in CA. Number two is a felony in TX (where I currently live).
In this case, the prosecutor has all the evidence necessary to pursue all three of the charges I listed above, and possibly more that I'm not aware of, but they won't. For the exact reason you just mentioned, and for the exact reason this act was committed: we hold these accusations as guilty on utterance. We have it in our heads as a society that women are always telling the truth when they utter these accusations. And the problem is this: The moment a person is assumed to be telling the truth without reproach, be it women accusing intimacy assault, or police, or medical doctors, that is the *exact* moment that they *will* start lying.
You're right, it's not all of them. It's not all women, nor is it all police, nor is it all medical doctors. But the fact that full investigations into what's being said aren't taken seriously, and these groups of people are assumed to be telling the truth at all times is what our justice system is supposed to prevent! And it doesn't, but rather perpetuates it.

I don't think that it was really right for yahoo Sports to report on it with such certainty when the accusations were only made in civil court with a LOT of contradictory witness accounts. It's not acceptable to not report on it when evidence arises, but it's also stupid to report on allegations as if they're news. This should have just stayed an unpleasant thing that Matt was dealing with in his personal life, and once he was charged or once reporters had independent witness statements THEN report on it.

"It is the fool who always rushes to take sides. Do not commit to any side or cause but yourself. By maintaining your independence, you become the master of others- playing people against one another, making them pursue you."
Everytime I hear of false accusations and people rushing to defend one side, I instantly think of this
Unless there is clear and obvious evidence of a crime being committed, people have to learn to let all of the information come out before judgement. I do feel like Rodger goodell should take some blame because he started this chain of reaction was suspending players who were just accused of actions
